Lucius once walked the temporal plane of Earth, but now he spends his time waiting for Halloween to come out and play. Kept in check by the angels, he’s determined to find a way around the rules even if it means sating only his most basic desires.
Perin is a good girl right down to her simple and very human need for a bubble bath and spiked hot chocolate. Coerced into taking a haunted hayride and to live a little, she finds unexpected consequences she couldn’t have imagined.
The demons of this world are tricksters, hedonistic sadists by some accounts. I wouldn’t know, I can’t say I ever met one, but for those who lived to tell the tale...

An enjoyable read that cleverly uses the theme of Halloween and combines it with romance and passion to give the readers a haunting love story. I would love to see Devil You Know made into a full length story so that we can get to know Lucius better. I feel like we didn't get to spend enough time with him, and I would've also liked to see more of his life before and after Perin.
Rachel Everley is a new author to me, and I came across this book on Booksprout. After reading this short story, I'll certainly be checking out her other books.

Wow this was one hell of a hay ride it was enough to last a lifetime and it is a fantastic story I loved it. Lucius is a naughty demon and Perin who is human and such a good girl quite the opposites but mix well together. Sorry guys I’m not going to give any spoilers because this story is so short I don’t want to ruin it, I loved this story but I would of liked it to be a bit longer I guess that’s why they call it a short story lol I still enjoyed it immensely and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I have read a lot of these types of books lately and honestly found this one to be refreshingly different.
Her writing draws you in and keeps you involved throughout the whole story, I found myself in love with not only the characters but also the world she created. Her descriptions of the characters abilities are so involved, you can truly picture it in your mind. Their attitudes toward the events that are happening makes the story even richer.

Perin and Lucius were so much fun to get a glimpse inside their lives. This is definitely a 2nd chance love story with a twist....Not spoiling that!!! That was brilliant!!
Makes me want to go for a hayride and grab some cocoa. I'm not even a paranormal fan yet I was hooked. My only complaint is I want more...they are so hard to walk away from.

This is a short romantic read but very enjoyable. Loved the characters of Lucius and Perin and how they came together. All centred around Halloween and the devils and sprites abound. Lucius was a roaming spirit and Perin was a good timid girl. Coming together was quite erotic but also romantic and the ending was super.

This is the 2nd book I've read written Rachel Everly; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Takes a little to really get the story flowing in your mind, but not bad. This is a really short story of a hayride gone wrong and a demon taking a human for himself and finding a rare second chance at life and love. Not a terrible short halloween story. Good for wanting a short read.

The Devil You Know is an enjoyable, quick romance with a cool twist. A haunting love story with a Halloween theme to it, you'll enjoy this quick paranormal about two lost souls who are so right for each other. I loved the HEA. I'd have liked more.

I enjoyed this second chance story! It's a short quick read that I wanted more of. Perin and Lucius are great! I enjoyed the dialogue and chemistry. It's a nice paranormal story. I look forward to reading more from this author.

He is the devil you know of but would not like to meet as he will use you any way he wants without thinking twice. Then again maybe you do what to as you may learn some naughty things. See what will happen

I liked the premise of the story but I was disappointed with how short it was. There was so much there that could have been unwrapped and enjoyed. I was also disappointed with the heat level. With a title like “The devil you know” I would have assumed it would have been a lot hotter story. I do plan on reading another books by this author.
