Skye MacKinnon is a USA Today & International Bestselling Author whose books are filled with strong heroines who don't have to choose.

She embraces her Scottishness with fantastical Scottish settings and a dash of mythology, no matter if she's writing about Celtic gods, cat shifters, or the streets of Edinburgh.

When she's not typing away at her favourite cafe, Skye loves dried mango, as much exotic tea as she can squeeze into her cupboards, and being covered in pet hair by her tiny black cat (who's secretly a demon).

The heats turn up for Kat in the third instalment, Catnip Assassin series. It’s been a while since I read the first two book but this one is the start of the true RH. Kats in heat and needs her men. There’s a mystery to solve and some bad guys to take down.

This series is so creative and fun.

Join Kat, Ryker, Gryphon, Lennox, plus all the neighbourhood cats and kittens with this purrrfectly purrfect third book in the Catnip Assassins series - Purrr.

There’s no pausing from the second book (Catnip) and this time Kat gets some more sexy times - well I mean technically she is in heat. Plus she starts off not quite herself in third book, which is displayed so well - from her minor addictions to her disinterest in Meow. Not to forget the jam packed action.

I loved that Skye MacKinnon has given us another purrrfect cliffhanger. I’m so excited to read more of this series and can’t wait to see what Kat gets up to in the next book.

Good but stop with the cliffhangers

My library only has books 1-3 and while I’ve suggested they purchase the remaining books that’s to be seen. I really really really really wish authors would stop writing episodic cliffhangers at the end of their books, much like this author and many others do. It detracts from your writing, if your novels are well written enough and the book plot is complete but the overall series plot is not, it is unnecessary for you to end the book on a cliffhanger note, because if your ending only satisfies the current book plot and only gives you some breadcrumbs for the next book you’ll be inclined to read it. I mean really.

I love Kat she’s great but often for being an assassin I feel like she does a bunch of idiotic things. She went into so many traps. She brought Little Kat home before even thinking she could be a planted threat. That was beyond stupid. I still don’t know how this is going to end either. We got so much more info into what’s going on with Kat, but it’s still not enough to exactly piece together what the goal or plan for these people were.

As for the men, I love the little harem, but I wish there was just a smidge more in the relationships, I know it’s UF so romance is a side plot usually. There are sex scenes in this book, but there are not graphic nor intimate nor detailed. They aren’t fade to black either but they are glossed over. And I’m still disappointed by this even though I should know by now how this author handles those scenes. Still I would have liked more than a page and a half of them being intimate because in shifter books it can create bonds, and closeness, and I feel like to a degree some of that is missing from the men. We don’t get to see that from them enough.

Overall I really do enjoy this unique and different story. Originally this series caught my eye because it was on kindle unlimited for a minute when book 1 first came out. I was sorely disappointed when the series was no longer available and I really wish more authors could do KU books, but I understand there’s certain rules that can make it complicated. But it’s how I read most of my books if my library doesn’t have them.

I look forward to reading the next one if and when my library - Greater Phoenix Library on Overdrive - gets it in.

I absolutely adore this series, I love Kats’ character and I cannot wait for more stories of her and her men. It is a slow burn rh and is truly excellent. There is a lot of mayhem and death, but the story is amusing and very imaginative. So Good !

My journey ends here on this one. I liked the heat and the first couple of chapters, it was nice seeing the guys together. It was a struggle after 46% I got bored. It’s the same song and dance with clones and collars. With the exception of a couple of secrets, it didn’t do much to hold my attention.

Kat's adventures continue, and the story is as engrossing as in the previous installments. Fast-paced plot, lots of twists and turns, truths revealed and more secrets arising, and a slow burn RH that will have you asking for more. I certainly do!

Purr is book 3 in this series. I love Kat as a bad a$$ assassin lead female that she is. But Kat in heat is my favorite. I mean we would all get distracted around Lennox, Gryphon and Ryker. I would. Seeing her more vulnerable is nice. I like how the Sirens think they can tame her and make her roll over. Loved this book. Can’t wait to read Hiss.

This is a “read the books in order” series. Start with Meow.

The books end in “not so much cliffhangers, but teases for what comes next”. “Scratch” ends with Kat not fully able to shift back to human form. She can’t speak, only meow, leaving Ryker the only one who can communicate with her. Unlike Kat, who could communicate with other cats only when in her panther form, Ryker can communicate with Kat and his cats no matter what form he is in.

The lack of a human voice already has Kat hiding away, but Kat also has a bit of a fur issue. Ryker still finds her beautiful and that goes a long way easing the way when Ryker informs her that she’s in heat. Beyond satisfying the aching need, sex with Ryker also helps her regain control of her voice.

First Ryker and later Gryphon satisfy her heat. Heat is not so bad when you have three handsome suitors prepared to share, prepared to let you [Kat] be the dominant partner.

"Where does this come from, all of a sudden?"

Lennox's smile falls a little. "I thought I'd shown you that I want you. Not just my wolf. Me too. And I understand that it's overwhelming and if you need more time, that's okay. I just wanted to stake my claim before the other two make you theirs."

Instinctively, I draw my two blades, pointing them at their throats. "I'm nobody's. Neither of you is going to claim me. I'm my own woman and you better understand that."

Gryphon blinks at me, his beautiful green eyes full of emotion that I can't quite pinpoint. "You can do the claiming if you want," he says hoarsely. "You're in charge."

Lennox stares at me for a moment, then inclines his head. "You're in charge."

I don't know what to say. Or do. Old Kat would have run. Probably after poisoning them, making them suffer for a couple of hours.

Kat-in-Heat, though, wants them. Not poisoned, but alive and virile. With me.

I look at the two of them. Gryphon, dressed in black as always, with his scarred face and grassy green eyes. Lennox, broader and taller than the other man, with hair as black as Gryphon's clothes and azure blue eyes that seem to sparkle when he looks at me. The two of them are gorgeous, and the thought of having both of them as mine makes me tremble. But there's also a tiny voice in my head, a greedy voice, reminding me that there's someone else. Ryker. If I take their offer and go on a date with the two of them, wouldn't that be unfair to the cat shifter? I want to be with him too. Yes, I'm greedy as fuck, but my current hormonal state is entirely unapologetic about that.

I take a deep breath. "I'm not going on a date with you today." I watch them closely as disappointment mirrors on both of their faces. Yes, they really mean it. Really want me. That's reassuring.

"Because Ryker isn't here. Talk to him, add him to your weird man-talk thing, and then ask me out again."

Meanwhile, on the mystery front, Kat and her mates must rescue her all too human MEOW employees who were kidnapped by the pack.

****

Love how cuddly her shifters are. So far, the most we’ve gotten is mfm shower sex between Kat, Ryker, and Lennox. Though the potential for mfmm is implied. And there are clearly no objections to the four of them sharing a bed.

Wow a lot of things happen in book 3 of Catnip Assassins and I was loving every second of it! Be prepared for all different emotions to hit you in the face while you are reading haha. You are gonna love Kat and her issue with her heat (🔥 yummmy moments haha) and her starting to let others in and realize she has a family and she can go to them for help/to lean on every once in a while. I almost wanted to kill one of her guys but he turned out to have sorta a plan and helped achieve the big move at the end of the book. I enjoyed seeing the harem grow more and develop the friendship that comes with sharing a mate. You will get pretty emotional (angry and sad at some point) when Kat put herself in a bad position. I enjoyed the plot and how its progressing, some of the magical and sorta engineer-y things made me happy (as an engineer in real life haha). Add in the “siblings” aspect and it adds even another dimension to this story. I also laughed a lot with the heat antics and catnip hahaha. Overall it was my favorite book of the series so far, went right into listening book 4.

In terms of narration, I still am not a fan of some of the characters (like our sexy Irishman) but I will give the narrator high praise for changing things up for each and every one. I saw a video of her explaining her cheat sheets and how she does each different voice/inflection. I can’t even begin to count how many characters she does in one book, let alone the whole series haha. So she gets 4 stars from me! With new siblings being added, I can’t even imagine what the end all number will be for the total number of voices done hahaha.

The third book in this purrfectly exciting urban fantasy series. A reverse harem romance where Kat won't have to choose.

Wow!!!! What a read this was.
This is an excellent continuation of an amazing series.
Packed with so much excitement, suspense, drama and of course the romance.
Well written story line and plot with some excellent world building.
The characters are just amazing and love reading about them.
I have to say that the catnip scene had me laughing so hard though!
Recommend reading highly.

Skye MacKinnon brought out so many emotions in me while reading Purrr. I think laughter was the main emotion and the other one was one that would get me killed by Kat (ssshhh...it was “Awww...poor Kat”).

Kat is the last kitty that would want to be in heat, but at least she has plenty of people willing to help scratch her itch so to speak. There is also some scary action in Purrr. MacKinnon ups the drama and the bloodshed in this story.

I love Kat. An unwilling hero who just wants to forget the past horror only to find out that present is so much worse. Be prepared for betrayals, secrets to come to light, and everyone to be at risk.

Purrr has everyone on the front lines. You won’t even have time to eat the popcorn. You’ll be too busy saying, “Holy sugar! MacKinnon you’re killing me!”...and enjoying it.

Kat has a problem, she's become decidedly furry although she is still in human form, and she is meowing not talking. Hiding in her attic hammock, she just wants everything to go back to normal.

Ryker shows up to talk to her, she really doesn't want to listen but he does reveal some interesting information.

Plenty of humor in this one along with the ramping up of problems related to the pack.

With Ryker now in human form, there are many questions and other surprises in store here.

Finding the rest of Kat's clones and shutting down pack research is imperative. I couldn't put this book down.

I've already read Hisss so I am now waiting for Lick, the next book in this series. It's going to be very interesting I'm sure.

This is a great next part in the series. Reading these books in order certainly makes it easier to understand events. Kat is in heat this time and there is a lot more sexual activity than in the first two. Lennox, Gryphon and Ryker are all so different and so sexy and I was glad she gave in to her “urges”. I found myself really caught up in the story and the narrative flowed smoothly. I recommend this book for someone who likes a little variety in their reading but still wants shifters and hotness..

This book is an excellent addition to the series. It is well written and the story and characters are well developed. I love watching the character relationships and dynamics develop and grow through the books. The story was action packed and full of twists and turns. It has suspense, emotion, intrigue, hot chemistry and romance. I’d highly recommend this book but recommend that you read the books in order!! I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!

I see to love most of what Sky writes, The storey progresses on this books and has several twists and turns to keep you entertained, Kats relationshipd blossom with her 3 men and there is also of Action although as a RH goes its very, very tame and it lacks heat, that said the storey line is very strong and keeps you captivated, i just wish there was more heat. That said it was an enjoyable easy read

Yes! I was waiting for this book to come out, I love Kat, her makeshift family and her guys. This book picks up right were book two ended and as with the first two books the characters are great. The fast paced plot of this book will keep you on your toes with all the changing of directions, but not to a point that you will get lost. The ending though.... O-M-G I need the next book like right now

There is no real point in making a plot synopsis.

This entry in the series moves the plot along nicely. Kat's personal life changes and enriches. The explanations for the system she is fighting and learning about work and add richness to the story.

The peril and action are quite good.

I knocked a star off because a number of the ways Kat got out of mortal peril really were over-the-top. I like a bit more plausible escapes.

I’m loving Kat and her Meow group.
Poor Kat has a rough go of it in this book. Just bad news after bad news. Plus, she’s in heat and gets a little distracted when her men are around, which isn’t a good thing for an assassin.
I can’t wait for Book 4, Hisss!
I received an ARC from the author. This is my honest review.

Kat and her Meow crew are back and dealing with the information they gathered from the Pack lab they destroyed. Along with Lennox, Gryphon, and Ryker, they are searching for the Kat clones and working on taking the Pack down. Kat is a fantastic character and I love reading about her. The catnip scene had me laughing out loud! I received an advance copy of this book and voluntarily left a review.
