I was given this book for free in exchange for an honest review, but I had also pre-ordered it before it was offered to review. I have said this before in other reviews, I always give honest reviews whether people appreciate them or not.

This is the second story in the Magic And Metaphysics Academy series. The story begins with a recap of sorts to let everyone know what happened in the first book. I still recommend reading the first story before this one. After the recap we find Lou pacing in her dorm room in front of her roommates. Her roommates are Estelle, a witch, and Taylor, and unknown type of hybrid. Oh, wait a sec. Our main character is Lou, also a hybrid. Her mom’s a vampire and her father’s a witch. She’s mainly a witch that works with plants. Ok, on with the review! Lou’s pacing because Estelle wants her to take revenge on Kristi. Last book, Kristi, who is a truly ‘mean’ girl, made some awful things happen to Lou. She also runs a ‘popular’ group that call themselves the ‘Sparkles’. Estelle seems to really hate Kristi. She wants Lou to do something to her that will bring her down. Lou is not really that kind of girl. Taylor doesn’t really want Lou to get involved with Estelle’s plot.

Lou sort of has three boyfriends. Francis is a vampire and Kristi’s ex. Jayse is an anaconda shifter and finally Brooks, another witch that works with plants like Lou. All three of them are very into Lou who of course doesn’t know quite what to do about the three of them. Kristi gets her involved with something she really doesn’t want to do and everything goes to hell in a hand basket after that, with all the girls anyway. The guys are all there for Lou, supporting her and loving on her too. By the end, Lou doesn’t really know who to trust or what to do since she was betrayed by someone she thought was her friend.

All right. I really like Lou. She’s an interesting character and actually has morals. Her three guys are all pretty cool as a group and individually as well. We don’t see as much of her roommates in this one as we saw in the first book so I don’t have much to add about them. This is a quick read, but very intense. The story never stops and has some dramatic surprises in it. I actually pre-ordered this book after reading Magical Mischief (Book 1) when it was in the anthology it was first released as part of. This Academy and the one in Ms. Greenwood’s other series Grimalkin Academy: Kittens and Grimalkin Academy: Catacombs completely bring back memories of high school and early college with all the mean girls, anxiousness and uncertainty. Yes, I have already pre-ordered Magical Misfit (Magic And Metaphysics Academy #3) which releases on November 20th!

Magical Mistake is the second book in the Magic and Metaphysics Academy by Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff.

Lou with her roommates Estelle, Tyler and of course the guys she’s crushing on - Francis, Jayse and Brooks. Plus the Sparkles - Kristi, Sadie and Madison, which Lou is getting in deeper, and deeper with.

This is a story filled with with revenge plots, new love, friendship and The Book...which is just the beginning of more problems.

Absolutely love this fun modern Academy series, which has an awesome Mean Girls vibe. Also love the quick recap at the beginning of the story, just enough to remind you what happened in the first book and be ready to begin Magical Mistake.

Three men, two frenemies, three potential frenemies, and an evil book and more secrets than Lou can keep. She is bound to make a mistake.

Lou is drowning in the Sparkles as Kristi’s personality is becoming more dominant and mean. Estelle is getting more emphatic that Lou has to stay with the revenge plan even though she wants to withdraw. Lou wishes she had found out what Tyler really is as she has more power than she is willing to talk about. Sadie also has a lot more power than she shows due to Kirsti.

Then there is Lou’s desperate need to bite Francis when she has never had a need to bite another vampire. Brooks is stirring a different kind of magic within her and shares another secret with her. Then there is her attraction to Jayse and her feeling of safety with the anaconda.

Of course in the midst of all this drama is when it happens: the mistake. At first it seems like there is nothing to worry about and then wham! - the mistake comes out of nowhere to ruin everything.

Okay rainbows, I think this is the first time I am going to write a review that is definitely going to have spoilers so do not read if you do not want spoilers. Sorry I see no way to avoid it.

Magical Mistake (Drowlgon Press, B07VYW2JJR, 2019) is the second book in the “Magic and Metaphysics Academy” series by Laura Greenwood and L.A. Boruff. Once again, all I can refer to is the movie Mean Girls (Dir. Mark Waters, 2004) as I did in my last review. Other than the relationship with the trio of guys and the end twist I felt like I was in a deja vu state.

From the talent show and the Christmas song and skimpy costumes, yes the outcome was different but it was still too similar. Then there is the evil book and what Lou ends up writing in there and the event that then happens. Yeah...way too much like the movie for me. I actually kind of guessed the ending though it was still a nice twist, I think I might have guessed the next twist too, but we will see (I’ll let you know).

I actually do not know how to finish this…(hand to head emoji). I do not know how I feel about this book. I guess it depends on how the third one works out. So right now we are in a wait and see status. Sorry rainbows, I wish I had more to say. See you at the Academy in my next review.

Picking up where book 1 left off, this book dives right into steamy! I was hoping for more on the revenge plot line which almost felt like an afterthought. Lots of focus on the bond growing between Lou and her men. This was a fast paced read and continued to expand the magic system and did add a bit to the suspense and mystery started in the first book. This book ends with a huge upset to set the stage for book 3.

This is book 2 of 3 in the Magic and Metaphysics series which should be read in order as the story builds from one book to the next.

Lou’s learning more about her classmates and academy life and discovering that it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. At least the guys might turn out to be a shining light in all that darkness. Well, now that was a twist I didn’t see coming. And now that I’ve seen it, I’m a little desperate to discover what Lou’s going to do about it.

Magical Mistake by Laura Greenwood and L. A. Boruff is the second book in the Magic and Metaphysics Academy series. This book is about Lou, a witch/vampire hybrid who is trying to survive attending her paranormal school without becoming a social pariah. This book is a unique and interesting portrayal of a young paranormal girls life and relationships with those around her including her roommates, the popular girls, and the three young men she becomes romantically involved with. I really loved the character of Lou and this story has lots of interesting twists and turns that made it an awesome read. Anyone who enjoys a good young love story will love this sweet paranormal reverse harem romance too. Magical Mistake is an entertaining paranormal reverse harem romance.

Lou has been part of the Sparkles in an effort to help her roommate bring down the head girl. Things are not going as planned. Lou is left wondering if things are her fault. Her relationships with the guys are progressing. She is learning more about herself. This is a quick enjoyable read.

This is the second well-written reverse harem story in the Magic And Metaphysics Academy series. The story begins with a recap of first book story and continues with this amazing story. I really enjoyed the characters in this series as they mature and have more depth. This can be read alone but I recommend reading the first book before this one. Good Read

This is about a two hour read. We have suspense, mystery, and accepting the truth. Lou has been trying to belong to the Sparkes, but Kristi is just mean. She is trying to understand why Estelle hates Kristi so much. Lou has feelings for three guys, and trying to understand why. Can she stick with the Sparkles? Can she really help Estelle with Kristi? What will the three guys think about her liking all of them? Oh gosh what is really going on? What will all the other students think about everything? Finding the truth and trusting.

Our heroine just wants to learn and practice her magic, but life is never that simple. High school politics seem more dangerous that the studies themselves.

This is book two of the series. There is a pretty good summary of the last book at the start of this one, so you can start here, but it might be better to start at the beginning anyway. Your choice.

This is a young adult reverse harem paranormal fantasy story. If you have read any of the author's previous works, then this one is very similar in tone and style. The story is well written and easy to read. The world has a lot of depth to it and there is a diverse cast of well developed characters. There is a plot, but it seems to mostly focus around campus politics between the student cliques. Frankly, I find it to be a little too much of a high school drama with magic. I was hoping for something a little more. Still, it is an enjoyable story and I plan to stick around to see how it wraps up.

Recommended.

As the story continues from Book 1, the groups are identified, with Lou involved with each. Her roommates are Estelle and Tyler; her 3 guys are Francis (vampire), Jayse (anaconda shifter), and Brooks (plant witch); and the popular girls clique, the Sparkles – Kristi whom no one likes, Sadie, and Madison.

Kristi has now gotten Lou angry. Someone messed with her glamor so that she was embarrassed by her appearance at a party. Then she saw Kristi kiss Francis! But not everything is as it seems. Taking advantage of Lou’s anger, her roommate Estelle is urging her to take revenge on Kristi – something to actually get her expelled from school. There is a magic book that will cause some trouble. Kristi is pushing Lou to do things that Lou is not comfortable with. And Lou makes some romantic progress with her guys who are okay with sharing her affections. Things are definitely heating up from multiple directions. Is Lou in danger? Will she be ready to deal with what comes her way?

I am really enjoying this fast-paced series and getting to know the characters who are becoming important in Lou’s new environment. Grab your copy and see how the interactions with the various groups shift and change. There will be surprises in this one that you won’t want to miss.

Lou is still upset over seeing Francis kissing Kristi. Lou acts like she is not bothered or upset over everything that has happened. Lou is reconsidering getting revenge on Kristi. Estelle is forcing the issue more on Lou. Her other roommate Tyler is makes some comments, but doesn't elaborate further.
Brooks takes Lou to special place in the forest to recharge her energy. She enjoys being there with him. They explore their feeling for each other.
Lou is forced to work with Francis in class even though she doesn't want to. When her anger at him gets him hurt. She exposes her secret to him. He is upset she felt she could not trust him. She learns it wasn't even him that Kristi was kissing.
She dreads going to class, she drags her feet. When she finally runs out to go, she runs in to Jayse. Seeing him like that, she breaks down. Jayse comforts her. When she is able to talk, she explains why she is like this. He helps her understand
Lou knows she wants all three of them in her life, they each provide something to her. She feels a pull with each of them.
Things with Kristi starting getting out of control, Kristi forces Lou to write in the book. Lou doesn't want to but she does. Kristi is not happy with it.
Everything is getting out of control at school, she feels like she doing things she doesn't want to. But things at the academy are getting dangerous fast.

The author keeps you entertained at a fast pace, leaving you wanting the next book when your done.

I really enjoyed this installment in the series. It picks up where the last one leaves off and we get to see where things go with Lou. Lou is connecting with her 3 men more and more. She is building a connection with all of them and while she feels guilty at first, when she explains what the problem is and that she likes them all to one of them, they let her know that they already had a discussion and have no problem with a poly relationship. She is still dealing with the sparkles and things come to a head with the one in charge. I like the way that she finally stood up for herself without taking it too far. There are a few twists in this one that start coming to light in the middle of the story and then we are thrown one right before the end. I will definitely be checking out the next book to figure out how everything will come together and work out. This book is not clean like the first one. She is building a connection with all the men and this takes the physical side to clothes off. Not full intercourse but there are details about sex and getting each other off. I liked the way that it was added and blended into the story. It fit the characters, scene, and story so it all worked for me. I enjoyed this one and am looking forward to the next.

Wow! Powerful story. Everything Lou believed is turned upside down. Lou has been pretending to enjoy being part of the Sparkles so she and her roommates can get revenge on Kristi. She likes the other two girls but not Kristi. When Kristi forces her to write a rumor in a powerful book, the rumor comes true and something dreadful happens. But then she finds out one of her friends has been controlling everything from the beginning. Now she has to stop this person before more people die. And then there are her three potential boyfriends. How will this work? She has intense feelings for all three. Can’t wait for the next book. Magical Mistake 5 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
(Magic And Metaphysics Academy Book 2)
By: Laura Greenwood & L.A. Boruff

******** May Contain Some Spoilers ********

I will try my absolute best to keep spoilers to a minimum or completely out of my review. Sometimes it can be hard to do so.

L.A. and Laura did not disappoint with book 2 of this series. I found this to be just as intriguing as book 1, if not a little more. The event that happens near the end throw me for a loop. I so didn't see that twist coming!
Francis, Jayse, and Brooks all have very strong feelings for Lou and she them. Things get hot and heavy with Lou and 2 of the guys. After reading book 1, I couldn't wait to see what Lou would do to Kristi. Lou is working on a plan to retaliate for what Kristi has done. Lou's roommate, Estelle wants Lou to get Kristi expelled from school. Things finally come to a head between Lou and Kristi. Magic is used, ugly words thrown at Lou, then it happens. Pretty big event. The book ends with us finding out that Kristi wasn't the worse person at the academy, it's someone else. Can't wait for book 3.

They say keep your friends close and your enemies closer but what happens when even your friends are your enemies. Lou wants to get even with Kristi the leader of the Sparkles but she is conflicted about even though she has done some terrible things. Lou also grows closer to her boyfriend's but one mistake writing something in a book will cost someone and another enemy will reveal themself. This book dose have a cliffhanger just like book 1.

Magical Mistake is book two in the Magic & metaphysics Academy series and it picks up where book one left off. In this book Lou's story continues as she connects with the guys but can't decide on just one because she wants them all. Lou, the sparkles and the guys go on a twisted journey filled with drama, frenemies, mystery, magic, a bit of steam, humor and a cliffhanger that left me wanting to read the next book in this series to find out what happens next. Things have smoothed out for Lou and her boys, but she still has to deal with the Sparkles and what her roommate has planned. What's the deal with the book? Is Kristi really the villain here or is she being manipulated by someone much more dangerous? Get ready for unexpected twists, that will blow your mind! The ending has left me craving for more and I can't wait for the next installment!

Lou didn't love the idea of going to the Academy and once there she was in over her head. She was magically strong but didn't know simple spells. She found herself a Sparkle, the popular girl's clique while rooming with a girl who hated the top Sparkle, Kristi. She found out her Green magic was uncool and she needed to keep her hybrid nature hidden. And she found herself attracted to 3 boys. She was given rules to follow and shown a book of dark magic. When Kristy embarrasses her and then kisses one of the boys that she is interested in, Lou gets caught up in a revenge plot that has deadly ramifications. Can she find a way out of this mess?

This second book took a darker turn than I expected. It has a very Mean Girls feel to it. The sides are all drawn, the guys Francis, Jayse, and Brooks, the Sparkles, Kristi, Sadie, and Madison, and the roommates, Estelle and Tyler with Lou spending time with everyone. Frenemies and enemies, a dangerous book, and plenty of kisses. I can't wait to see how it all plays out in the final book.

The 2nd installment in a great new Academy series.
Lou is settling into the Academy and has found not one but three fantastic guys, but feels like she is losing control of her life. With her roommate urging her to stay in with the Sparkles so she can get revenge on Kristi and Kristi trying to control not only the Sparkles but the whole Academy, what is Lou to do?

This story continues from book 1 where Kristi gets at Lou and Lou wants revenge but her roommate Estelle wants Lou to get revenge on Kristi by getting her kicked out of the academy but Lou doesn’t want to go that far and Taylor agrees. Kristi is causing so much trouble for Lou and she believes that she is being pushed to do things that she doesn’t want to do. Things are getting out of control for Lou in the academy and what will she do to Kristi?. Another fantastic addition to this series and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
