sorry but going to 60% without being into the book it's really bad. the story was interesting but then i lost it seeing how their relationship it's plain .. i needed more from it, i needed more background story, i needed seeing them connect properly and not jump directly into it... i needed more angst , i just needed more, even with the stalker, we knew fast who it was.. i don't even know how old are they, or maybe i just missed it? i dunno. if i read til middle was because i liked him but i had trouble liking her :(
I’m all for reading a book that’s supposed to be fiction, I can shut my mind off for the most part for things that a far fetched. Reading most romance novels, there’s always something that has you thinking ‘....really!?’. This book however had me spending more time trying to work our time lines than concentrating on the story. Ten years are frequently referred to but for lots of different time lines. Ten years since they parted. Ten years he’s been a cop. There’s just things missing from the back story that just meant I couldn’t enjoy it as I was trying to figure out if it was plausible.

This is a great story by Bella Winters. I can't wait to read more by her.
Peter and Emily haven't seen each other for ten years since their parents divorce. They have never forgotten each other though. Emily has a stalker and when she goes to report it, she runs into Peter. He is in law enforcement now and offers her a place to stay. They soon discover that they have a connection. They don't want to lose each other. Will Peter be able to keep her safe?
I didn't read the preview of this story before diving in so I went in blind. I assumed there would be some stalker situation but I wasn't prepared for the stepbrother thing but really, it's been years and their parents are no longer married so it didn't actually seem taboo. I didn't really understand why both their parents were against it as they weren't raised together at a young age or anything.
The story itself was pretty good. It started off strong right from the start with the creepy feeling Emily gets on campus. She hears someone yell out to her but doesn't want to overreact. When things start to get really scary though she goes to the police.Imagine her surprise when she finds out the Chief of Police is her ex-stepbrother Peter. While she's being stalked at the beginning you can't help but be drawn into the story. You want this guy caught but you don't want Peter and Emily to have a reason to step away from each other.

Emily is having a bad day and ends up texting her former step brother only to learn it is the wrong number. When she discovers she has a stalker she ends up at the police station where Peter ex-step-brother is now chief. There is an attraction between them and when they learn the stalker was in her apartment, Peter wants her to stay with him. Things get steamy and Emily gets pregnant, will they find her stalker before it is to late? Fast-paced read with great chemistry and lots of suspense and drama. An entertaining read.
The book was too fast paced and predictable. We figured out the stalker almost immediately which didn't allow for more suspense revelation. Also the relationship between Emily and Peter (even though they knew each other in the past 10 years ago to be exact) developed way too quickly, not that relationships can't develop quickly, but there's almost made it seem like they so knew each other throughout those 10 years they lost contact. The overall development of the characters switching from who they were to all of a sudden who they are in the relationship was just too quick and not smooth. If you're in for a really quick read (bc you will finish this book in one sitting) then I guess it's okay but it really lacked in a lot of areas.

I can't believed how amateurish the writing style were. The way the mc reacts to the h didn't make sense. He is asking her to describe the potential stalker's car and she gets mad at him. Really? The mc emotions felt force, unrealistic, and unrelatable. Couldn't stand the childish FMC. For sure, DNF..
Young love can be the love of a lifetime. When Emily McAfee, UMass pre-med senior, first meet Peter ten years earlier, her affection and attraction for her older, adolescent stepbrother, could best be called puppy love. She tagged along behind him, basking in his tolerance and kindness. When her mother and Peter’s father spilt a short 3 years later, the mutual affection between the stepsiblings still existed, but it could never be called brotherly or sisterly, but not romantic either. Even now, despite years of separation, loosing contact and knowing that her actions were futile, Emily still sent texts of affection to the last number she had for Peter, hoping that her thoughts of love and good could reach him.
Peter’s last 10 years were focused on becoming a better, more honorable man than his father was. He had watched his father destroy relationships through his self-focus and dishonesty. He remembered how the only time he had felt a part of a loving family were the years when his father was married to Emily’s mother. But his father had shattered that happy time with his repeated infidelity. His rejection of his father’s actions and dishonesty set Peter on a path as distant from that of his father as he could go. As a result, he became a police officer, and a very good one at that, so much so that he has become the youngest Chief of Police in decades.
Fate brings Emily and Peter together after 10 years of absence and longing. Emily has attracted the attentions of a stalker—a casual acquaintance with a fellow student, Trevor, has turned into a horror movie. After bizarre and creepy texts, Trevor oversteps and actually enters Emily’s apartment, leaving her a message of twisted devotion scratched into a window. When Emily calls on the local police for help, who does she encounter but Peter, and her heart awakens, not with the affection of a child, but with the passion of an adult woman. Now, neither is now a child, and neither considers the other a sibling. Forced by fate into a close and intense encounter, love has the opportunity to emerge in an adult version—no puppy love this time. However, barriers and traps await as Emily and Peter navigate love as adults, facing push backs from their parents and the continuing threat of the stalker.
Bella Winters' Obsessed offers the reader a second chance romance filled with emotion, as love and fear take the reader on a wild ride. This is a novel for a quick trip into a passionate world with a HEA ending.

Peter and Emily were step-siblings for a while, then his father cheated on her mother and they were torn apart. Several years later and attending college to becomes a doctor, Emily reunites with Peter who is the new Chief of Police in town. And not under the best of circumstances. Emily has a stalker and he’s been keeping a very close eye on her, to the point of breaking into her apartment and leaving creepy love notes everywhere.
Peter has always had Emily in his thoughts, finding her again and hearing about the stalker only brings out his protectiveness to an even higher lever. Their instant attraction is hard to deny and it’s not long before these two are exploring their intense feelings for each other.
But their family drama rears it’s head and the threat to Emily escalates to a danger level.
🖤 ~ My Thoughts ~ 🖤 Not as taboo as I thought it was going to be or as angst-y. Which isn’t to say that’s a bad thing, just not what I was expecting from this read. The story could have flowed a bit less choppy in certain areas and the family drama with her mother and his father didn’t really get resolved so it felt unfinished.
I loved Peter, he was a sexy alpha protector type (LOVE) and Emily was just okay for me. Sometimes I felt her reactions were too OTT and TSTL towards the end.
Heat Level: 4/5

What an interesting quick read! This was one of those books that had me feeling nervous for the main character, Emily, as she was being stalked by someone unknown to her. She had a rocky relationship with her mother and she felt completely helpless in this situation. She always remembers her step brother Peter and how close they were ten years ago. Emily however, hasn't forgotten about him after all these years of his and her parents separation. She constantly texts his old phone number trying to reconnect with him but to no avail. She eventually goes to the police station to file a report about being stalked only to find Peter as the Chief of Police. They both see each other and sparks start to fly. Old memories resurface and their feeling for each other grows. Things progress pretty quickly in this story but eventually Emily realises who the stalker is and throughout the book Peter is trying to protect her and find her stalker. The stalker is captured in the end and both Emily and Peter get their happily ever after months later. I liked how these characters didn't make their parents past dictate their future. They knew how they felt about each other and was adamant to fight for it throughout the book.
I really enjoyed Peter and Emily’s story. This author really knows how to grab you and suck you into the story and not let go. Peter and Emily were step siblings at one time and when their parents marriage ended so did the close relationship between the two. Emily has always missed that part of her life and the closeness they shared. It’s been ten years and she’s held out hope that one day they will see each other again. Barely surviving college and dealing with her controlling mother, then top all that off with the feeling of being watched is creeping her out and the worst of it is when a love note is left on a window for her to see. Going to the police station was the last place she ever thought she would see Peter, but there he was and once he heard what was going on he took charge of the situation and her. These two are destined to be together but there are obstacles, lies, the threat of a dangerous stalker, love and the hope of something more between them. Great read, can’t wait for more from this author.
Emily and Peter were stepchildren for a while: he cared for her, she idolised him. Then they lost touch. Now he's the Chief of Police, she's a pre-Med student. She's being stalked. Guess who meets who? And then: "I’d wanted to reach out and touch him, well, everywhere. I didn’t, though. And I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. My nether regions are definitely convinced I should regret it." 'My nether regions'? - this girl need to get out more! It's awkwardly written - not necessarily a bad thing when two people who are drawn to each other have baggage between them. Their fumbling to find a relationship beyond the sex is kinda cute - they both know that there is something special between them but it's all happening too fast - and there's a stalker. The writing style, however, doesn't help the story develop particularly well - there's a stop start jumpiness a lot of the time. Overall it is a bit of a disappointment - it's not bad but it is not particularly good.
I absolutely loved this book by Bella Winters about young pre med student, Emily who discovers she is being stalked by some crazy. When she decides to go to the police department to report the incident, she discovers that her former stepbrother is now the police chief. Emily has harbored feelings for Peter for so many years, and when she runs into him while filling out the report. She soon discovers that she isn’t’ the only one with feelings for the other, even though they feel this relationship is taboo. She surrenders her virginity and her heart to Peter as he falls head over heels in love with her. The storyline is well constructed and there is plenty of sexual chemistry to have the pages smoldering between these two adorable main characters. I love, loved loved this book and highly recommend it for your reading pleasure.
Emily is being stalked by someone and she doesn't know what to do she finally goes to the police for help. When she gets to the station she is with an officer when she sees for former step-brother there as well. Peter is stunned when he sees Emily and asks what she is there for and when she tells him Peter takes over her report. The connection between them has never been the brother/ sister type so the old feelings Emily had for him resurface. peter is determined to help keep her safe no matter what he needs to do. Will he find out who is stalking her? Will they be together after the threat is over?
This is a great story once I started it I couldn't put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

Emily is a selfish hypocrite. She’s scared of her stalker, I get it, but getting mad at Peter when all he’s trying to do is protect you?! Then continue to compare him to his father?!! That was low, like lower than low. Her apology didn’t do justice. Emily gets mad at Peter for keeping her in the dark, blows a fit, then at the end of the book, keeps Peter in the dark. Why blow a fit for something you would do???? What started out as a good book slowly became too dull. I like Peter, he seems like a decent guy, but their relationship didn’t seem to mature a lot before they were excited about having a baby. It was like, “Hello, I miss you, fight, I’ll protect you, fight, we’re having a baby, I’m so happy.”

This book started off a little slow in the beginning but the more I read the more it drew me in, Emily and Peter’s story started when there parents married each other but when it fell apart it ended for them as well but the connection between them was always there bubbling under the surface and reconnecting again some years later brings back those feelings tenfold. And now Emily has a stalker and Peter wants to keep her safe now that they are finally together but every turn he makes Trevor is one step a head of him. I enjoyed this story line and all the characters involved made this a great must read.

Amazing! I absolutely loved this book by Bella Winters. This book is about Peter and Emily. Former step-siblings come together when there is a stalker situation. Emily is studying for pre-med at university. Peter who is no longer her step brother is also the Chief of police too. Peter steps in to help to find Emily's stalker. This book has it all between steamy sex scenes, and mystery. That will keep you turning pages after page. This is a second chance at finding love and step brother story. If you love any of these things then this is PERFECT for you. Keep up the amazing work! I can't wait to read more from you.
4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ for Obsessed by Bella Winter’s. This is a taboo sort of romance with a dark edge. Peter and Emily used to be step siblings but they haven’t talked to each other in years. Emily has longed for Peter all this time but doesn’t have any idea where he is. Now Emily thinks she has a stalker and Peter is the man in charge at the police station. These two are thrown together and all the good stuff happens. 😉. Ok so this book has the taboo element we all love with added suspense . It kept me guess until the end . I loved every page of this book . Also I love how Bella took a mundane name like Peter and turned it into a bada** name in this book .
after seeing the blurb on this book, i decided to give it a go. i wasnt disappointed. two people who once called each other brother and sister are thrown back into each others lives when emily gets a creeping feeling she's being watched. peter wanting a collection to something other than his job, finds himself taking on more than a new case with emily comes back into his life. i loved peter's protectiveness and the way he would do anything for the woman he loves. heather and emily were fun to read a great dynamic of friendship.
Ten years ago Emily and Peter were step-siblings. Once their parents divorced, they never had any contact with each other. Now, Peter is the Chief of Police and Emily is a pre-med student. They meet again when Emily goes to the police station to report a stalker. They realize that they still have a connection and Peter takes a personal interest in keeping Emily safe.

Good romance, with a slight suspence Simple romance between the two heroes but disturbed by what brought them together: a stalker more and more insistent with Emily. Peter is a former half-brother who meets again Emily when she comes to complain. She had lost sight of him and she discovered that he became the police chief. Their buried feelings reappear immediately, but the stalker becomes more and more urgent. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Obsessed is a romantic suspense story about Peter and Emily who were step siblings until their parent's divorce. It's been ten years since they've seen each other and now she has a stalker and he's the local chief of police. One thing leads to another and they end up sleeping together. This is an entertaining read filled with mystery, suspense, danger, drama, steam, romance and a perfect ending. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
The premise seemed promising but you find out who the stalker is early on, Losing her virginity was no big deal, she just gets pregnant quickly. Emily is suppose to be smart (pre-Med) but birth control isn’t a thought she overreacts to every situation she pretty much gives up on her own life. I really wanted to like this book but I am disappointed.
Yeah, so Emily is not having a good day. But that is everything I am telling you. :) I got sucked into this story from the first sentence, it was that good. I read it in one sitting. I just love these types of stories. Emily is a great character. Strong, determined, everything a female character should be. 5 stars.

This well-written storyline has ex step-siblings reunited when a stalker enters the h's life. She tries to connect with her ex stepbrother but fails until she goes to the police. Our Hero insists on having her move in for safety, but a pregnancy occurs, drama ensues in the form of their parents who don't want them to be together. Could be a bumpy road to a HEA.

This story sucked me in immediately with the goodness of the character leaping from the page. She could be the typical girl next door except that she has had a dysfunctional family relationship. Her leading man Peter is intense and the transformation over the story is fascinating. You’re never quite sure what is going to happen next, it’s a safe feeling, the story doesn’t get too dark or distracting so that it takes away the enjoyment.
When Emily goes to the local police station to report a stalker she gets reunited with Peter & the connection is just as strong as when there parents were married 10yrs ago. Peter vows to protect her from this stalker & to catch him. The love that comes along with it is welcomed by both. This is a great book that’s an easy fast read that you won’t be able to put down!
I am always intrigued by Bella Winters’ novels. They always have a great storyline; intriguing characters; some plot twists that could go either way; and a HEA that always gives you warm fuzzies. Obsessed doesn’t let you down...it’s another great read from Bella Winters. It’s worth your time. (I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and thoroughly enjoyed it.)
Peter is Chief of Police in the town that Emily is going to School. They meet as adults when she goes to file a complaint about being a victim of a stalker. He takes her home to protect her and decides to keep her. The attraction that they felt 10 years never faded. This is their story as adults and as lovers.
