Trudy never stopped loving Dane he was her high school sweetheart but he had bigger dreams of life than staying in Snow Ridge and even though he is back in town she knows she can’t let her heart hope that he will stick around this time. Determined to carry on her life after he leaves they enter a kind of friends with benefits arrangement but the danger that they thought had left is back with a vengeance and coming straight for Trudy, does she really know Dane as well as she thinks or does he hold the answers to Snow Ridge’s real troubles?

Dane is now a successful billionaire CEO and has returned to Snow Ridge to help out his twin brother Ash, especially now that he has met and married the woman of his dreams, taking over as the town sheriff and supervising the renovations on the lodge hotel but when he sees Trudy again he remembers how his life could have been. Could he really have a second chance with the woman who owns his heart or will his dark secrets destroy any hope of that especially when the Trapper is back and waiting to uncover all of his deceptions and take the life of the woman he loves?

I am liking how the story grows with each book and you get to see the lives if this little forgotten town unfold. Dane wanted to protect Trudy although he goes about everything the wrong way these two characters are likeable from the start. Looking forward to reading the final book.

I liked the beginning as Dane was back trying to pull things together and protect Trudy. I didn’t like the way he internally trivialized his feelings for her all the while having intense romps and treating her with less respect than she deserved.
I was enjoying this storyline as a four star read and was disappointed when midway through the book, Trudy and Dane became unforgivably stupid. His brief backstory and history with Trapper was really icky and the fact that he still felt a pull towards her was worse. His POV kept referring to Trudy as his best friend but I didn’t really feel that emotional connection from him. He treated her more like a hookup that he really really liked.
Tons of hot scenes that were well written but after I saw how they were so easily duped by trapper, it wasn’t enough to keep me interested.

He left her before for the wrong reasons. Now he has all the best reasons to stay since he knows the truth. They had something good when he was living there and should have kept it going.

The writing will draw you in after only a few pages of the first book and have you finishing in one sitting. Then going on to the next and the next as soon as you can get your hands on them.

There is the perfect amount of angst and romance to keep you hooked. I loved how their relationship unfolded so we could see these amazing characters grow in ways you never expected.

I would suggest picking up a copy of each book asap, you will NOT be disappointed.

This seond chance romance has a double meaning it's a second chance for Dane and Trudy but it is also a second chance to catch the one person who he thought got away. Its a sexy unexpected twists with a bit of family drama ex friends to lovers benefits secret baby little suspense and mystery and a lot of secrets.

This was one smoking hot book cleverly written by Lark Avery. It had all the elements of an awesome story!! Including true love, a hero, mystery, danger, and an HEA that will warm everyone’s hearts!! Super excited to hear Tristans story and the conclusion of this mountain mystery!!

He’s an idiot

Dane has an enormous ego and thought he was too good for Snow Ridge and his high school girlfriend, Trudy. He moved to LA and had a steady diet of buxom models, oh, please!
Now he’s back and hooking up with Trudy, still thinking he’s too good for everyone.
While she pined for him. Seriously.

The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.

Ok...

I really enjoyed this story. However, I have a question. What happened to Trapper. I don’t like having questions at the end of the book. It was a big part of the storyline to just, drop it. Other than that, it was a good read.
