The Priestess Devil boys think they’re so smart. Of course, when it comes to Lakyn Meyer, they think they’re so damn beautiful too. I guess he has a point, but this was never about him. It was about me and he waltzed in and stole the show as he’s accustomed to. Maybe one day I’ll get rid of him once and for all. Even if it’s not anytime soon. The Devil Holy babble balls, man. Beatrix St. Germain thinks she’s some kind of superhero to her emo dark lord down below but all I hear is her flapping her gums like she’s the greatest thing on Earth. We all know that’s a lie—especially since I’m here. Trixie has tried to get rid of me but when I make a pact with someone, I stick to it. Soul mates without benefits suits me just fine. For now. The Burden One day I’ll be able to stand on my own two feet. I hate when Bea and Lakyn are together, but I hate it even more when the three of us are apart. He promises me spare time with Bea and in return, I do whatever he tells me to. I’m Ichabod Foster. Maybe you’ve forgotten about me at this point too, and that’s okay. Just try not to forget about me entirely because I’ll never forget about you. This set includes the entire Malediction Scavengers, Vultures, and Carrion. Also included is Detritus which was only available for a very limited time and Sunder which has never been released.

Trix, Ichy, and especially Lakyn are some of the most memorable characters ever. I don't think I could ever tire of their stories. Love that this expands to include not just Scavengers and Vultures but also a couple more short stories featuring them.
This story is dark and had triggers. But that's exactly what I expect and why I read books by Yolanda Olson!
I gave this book my honest best effort but it was not my vibe at all. I love me a crazy person as the MC, even better a sociopath because there's just something intriguing about people with no emotions. However the way the characters are handled here was just not for me. First one of the MCs is a drug addict who will do anything for his next fix including turning tricks. He is such a sad and low characters I swear his emotions brought me down. Then there's the heroine who is part of a church which is a front for heinous crimes. Honestly the whole concept is a bit confusing to me as is her background, it is being explained but at times the story flip flops between the past and the present and it's just taking too long to piece it all together. Finally we have Lakyn the character that bothered me the most. There's just absolutely nothing about him to like. He's totally off his rocker, part sadist and just plain evil. At the end of the second book I realize this is not for me but I did give it my best shot. It's not often books like this don't work for me but it was a little too out of my bounds of enjoy-ability.
This Malediction Codex includes the entire Malediction Saga: Scavengers, Vultures and Carrion. Also included is 'Detritus' which was only available for a very limited time and 'Sunder' which has never been released. Length: 588 pages.
The sole reason I read the Malediction Duet was because I want to read the Anathema Series written by Yolanda Olson and Jennifer Bene. Are you ready to meet the son of Lakyn Meyer? 😈 Definitely read the Malediction Saga first to meet Lakyn Meyer in all his glory first!
Turned out the Malediction Duet is not a duet at all. 🙄 There are more books in the series and all stories are bound together in this Malediction Codex. Book #1 (Scavengers) was only a 3 star read for me, what generally means: no way I'm gonna read the next book in the series. 😆 But after reading Scavengers I just 'needed' to know how Lakyn, Beatrix and Ichabod's journey would end. And that only ever happened once before: The Complete Inferno Series by Yolanda Olson. (Too intrigued to quit despite the books being only 3 star reads.) So Miss Olson's writing definitely has 'something' that appeals to me!!! 😉 Nevertheless... after reading Scavengers and Vultures, I'm not gonna continue this series because I really had enough after two books. Two books that, for me, led to nowhere. It's depraved, sick and twisted (and funny 🤣 horror does that to me!) but that's it!! Things just go on and on... and on...; just more of the same... and repetitive. Hard to explain what exactly it is that I'm missing..... it's just, lot of things about the characters remain too vague... like I can't 'understand' why and what makes them do the things they do. I wouldn't say there is no real story... but somehow, for me, it kinda felt that way. Long story short: I won't finish all stories in this Malediction Codex; after two books, I'm done. 😁
I’m looking for a man in finance, 6,5, blue eyes, obessed with himself, unalives on a whim and has the most intense roadtrip ever? Look no further than Lakyn Meyers. Yolanda has a way of crafting these men that makes you both love and loathe them in equal measure.
Before we dive in, let's handle some housekeeping unless we want Lakyn on our case. This is a horror erotica, and you should decide to read it at your own discretion.
The Malediction Codex is an omnibus. While the books can be read separately, if you choose to read the Malediction Codex, you get two extra parts—and trust me, it's worth it.
Lakyn, as I’ve described, is a self-obsessed, narcissistic psychopath. Bea/Trixie, the Satanic Princess, will do anything and everything to protect Ichabod. Love him or hate him, Ichabod is pure in heart and soul and has literally found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time. Bea is the female version of Lakyn but with emotions.
If you're looking for a book with cultish vibes, blasphemy, and all-around chaos, this is the book for you.
A little hint: there is a second book, and if you read Malediction Codex and then read Death Blooms, you’ll know we’re in for A Brush with the Devil!
This is classic Yolanda Olson with absolutely insane yet extremely fascinating, entertaining characters on a murderous road trip. Olson again proves that she is not afraid to step out of the box, having her characters engage in shocking, extremely disturbing things that provided me with hours of entertainment! It’s a fabulous story and would get a 5-star rating if it wasn’t riddled with typos, punctuation and grammatical errors.
Dark, disturbing, creepy, effed up....and oh so good.
Yolanda has a style that can't be compared to anyone.
I don't do spoilers in my reviews so I am just going to say read it...if you have an open minded...if you don't mind deranged...if you are not faint at heart....read this...and love it... like I did.
Dark read with plenty of twists that will leave you wondering what will happen next. These three are twisted perfectly for each other and I could not get enough. If you are looking for a great read full of mind games and gore mixed with some messed up sexual situations this is the book for you.
My poor Icabod! I just love him so much. Trixie tried her best to keep him away from the evil that lurks at night. She loves her bestie so much she ensured to pay for the things he had to endure. That is until Laykn came along. Mr. tall, handsome and charming. Don't let his looks deceive you, Laykn has a taste most are not ready for. The three of them together go on an adventure that reveals the truth hidden in the dark. Are you ready to go on a road trip with them?
