If you could be anything, what would you be? A firefighter? Rocket ship? Fox? Monster? Join String on his adventure. He could be anything but what kind of a thing?
Just String is a book that discusses about being true to who you are. It is a good kids book. String was sad but, was able to build his confidence by being a string.
Just String by Atticus Ryder is an engaging illustrated graphic novel that delves into the journey of self-discovery and identity through the eyes of a character named String. The story begins with String contemplating various identities, yet none seem to fit until he encounters Paper. Paper, with its imaginative nature, shows String that he too can transform into various forms. This newfound ability allows String to explore different facets of his identity, ultimately leading him to embrace who he is while also cherishing the value of friendship.
Just String is a charming and visually appealing book that is sure to captivate young readers with its vibrant illustrations and simple, yet profound storyline. The narrative conveys an essential message about self-acceptance and the importance of friendship. The character of String, who initially struggles with his identity, finds guidance and inspiration in Paper, highlighting how friends can play a crucial role in helping us realize our potential.
The book is well-written, making it accessible and enjoyable for children. The illustrations complement the text perfectly, adding depth and a visual representation of String's journey. The theme of being happy with oneself, while also being open to change, is a powerful takeaway for young minds.
However, the story's simplicity, while a strength for its target audience, may leave adult readers wanting more depth and complexity. The plot is straightforward, and some might find it lacking in substantial conflict or intricate storytelling that could elevate it further. Additionally, the book's brevity might make it a quick read for some, leaving them wishing for a more extended exploration of String's adventures.
Overall, Just String is an interesting and delightful read, particularly for children. Its positive messages about identity, transformation, and the supportive role of friends make it a valuable addition to any young reader's library. It stands as a commendable effort that succeeds in delivering its intended message effectively, even if it leaves room for a bit more narrative depth.

Review:
Just String is a short and sweet book which conveys deep meaning in a casual and fun manner. On a quest to become something more than just “a string”, he meets various characters who are quick to shut him down that he’s “just a string” after all. It all changed when he meets an unlikely character who helps him figure out. This book even shows how one can become a good friend!
Taking this story, the kids could be easily taught that they could be anything and achieve what they love to despite all the odds. As I understood, the sweet intent behind this short book, I had a bright smile on my face.
With bright pictures and easy words, the book will be pretty eye catching for the kids! I definitely recommend this book!
Just String is a delightful little book, about the adventures of String, who is unsure of his own identity. Who is String? And What else can String be?
String is desperately looking for the answers to this question and eventually realises that he is what he is. Why should he wish to be anything else?
This narrative teaches children to be happy in themselves but if they do want to change, they should be able to without any problems from anyone else. It’s funny that I am reading this book now as an adult, as I tend to have a problem with my own identity. Perhaps if I had this book whilst as a child, I would not have the problems I do now in adulthood.
Recommended for its target readership and maybe one or two adults, too!
Just String, by Atticus Ryder, is an illustrated graphic novel, a book we used to call a comic book. String examined a number of things he could become and decided that he didn't like any of them. Then, he met paper, which had imagination and became many other things. Encouraged by paper, string also became other things, but mostly, he became a friend.
This is a fun little book which would, no doubt, be enjoyed by young children.
Just String, written by Atticus Ryder, is a fluently written short story with a wonderfully colorful design. It radiates positivity through its vivid illustrations and presents a simple yet touching tale about self-worth and friendship.
This book is perfect for young readers—or anyone who could use a gentle reminder that being yourself is more than enough. Its message is both universal and deeply comforting.
This was a fun and entertaining story with charming illustrations. It was all about string, as you've probably guessed. It was simple, but sweet, and it did make me smile. I think small children would really like it.
This is another delighful book by Atticus Ryder after Who's Under my Bed. Simple plot, easy and catchy words, lively colours and message for everyone to believe in themselves . I am sure kids would love this book
This small books is good with illustrations. it tells a simple story but deep down it talks about identity and realisation. a string comes to know that it can take any form and it starts the process of self discovery. liked the illustrations. liked the narration. good book for kids
Well written with beautiful pictures, the book is easy and simple to read. The take away message that you can be anything you want and even being a friend is equally important, is very nice.
Just String teaches kids they can be anything, despite the negative words of others. It was fun following String’s journey to self-discovery, and comforting because I am just like String :-)
This simple little story is great for anyone of all ages in need of reassurance while trying to find themselves.
*I received this in exchange for an honest review.*
My first impression of this book's cover was great. I enjoy how lively and colorful the tones are. This is the first of Atticus Ryder’s works that I have read so far. From my perspective this work is made for young minds, but, uplifting for us grownups. I’m a firm believer that reading a few childrens books every now and then is good for adults. So I tackled this light read with a fresh objective to see the brightside of the contents. In my opinion this is a great midday or bedtime read for children. The creativity that a simple spool of string can unleash for anyone is limitless. The first image starts off without much color, just gray tones. From the begining the main character is confident in his potential. String can be anything. Th problem arises when other characters in the story tell String that his potential is limited. He can’t possibly be what they are. A little further into the storyline a new friend reminds String of his potential to be whaever he wants to be. Things from there look up, a new friend and a great outlook. I enjoyed this short read and felt like I grabbed a nice confidence boost along the way. I would recommend this to parents looking for encouragment in book form. And I would definitely give this as part of a giftset to new parents. Start building the childrens library early. I hope this review was helful, enjoy your next read!
