“Do you think this is impressive, Ms. Anderson? A pair of panties you’ve already soaked is the best you can do?” He leans over me, his hand curling through my hair and pulling until my head comes up. “I fucked you last night. Were you touching this pussy thinking about it? Is that why you’re all wet?”
“What would you do if I did?”
He makes a low, amused sound and licks my pulse point. “It doesn’t matter what you do or don’t do. I don’t give a fuck if you’re a good girl or a bad one. I’m going to make you cry either way.”
“Well, I didn’t. I wasn’t even thinking about you this morning.”
Will’s voice drops. “Spread. Your. Goddamn. Legs.”
I do, planting my heels on the floor. Will’s fingertips meet my lower back, and I arch on instinct. This is true corporate whore behavior. Gripping a copy machine for dear life while—
A hard slap lands on my pussy, barely cushioned by the cotton. I bite back a yelp. “You can’t—the office—”
“I just did.” He holds me by the hips, and I have no idea what he’s doing until his lips meet the exposed skin between my rucked-up skirt and my panties. He tastes my skin, his tongue a hot stripe, and then—teeth. Will toys with biting me there, testing, but he settles on the waistband of my panties instead.
Elastic, in his teeth.
A sharp jerk of his head, and it snaps. He sweeps them away like scrap paper. Will’s belt buckle clinks, his zipper pulls, and the thick head of him meets my opening with brisk efficiency, like there’s no time in his schedule for anything else.
His hands lock back on my hips, and he forces them back at the same moment he drives himself in, taking me to the hilt.

Extortion was emotional, sexy, angsty and spicy af! My nips are still hard thinking about this story! I said what I said.

Amelia Wilde never lets me down with her rich, broken alphaholes and Will Leblanc does not disappoint! I love him so much! My god, I fucking love how possessive he is of Bristol...that bathroom scene. TWO WORDS ....JIZZ. CITY!!!

The chemistry between Bristol and Will were off the charts. Not only does Amelia write the best couples around, she also writes THE BEST BROTHERS! I adore these guys!!

Amelia simply writes the best book boyfriends and the hottest fucking sex scenes I've ever read.

THE END.

Having sold Summit Equity for a small fortune with the added bonus of providing a clean break from Bristol Anderson, Will Leblanc’s plan backfires when she takes a temp job at Hughes Financial Services.

Fate and chemistry pull her back into his orbit yet he’s still firmly caught in the clutches of his past and unable - unwilling - to move on.

Extortion has given us glimpses of what a carefree, happy Will would look like. When an unknown enemy does the unthinkable, Will realizes what’s at stake.

Extortion picks up right where Blackmail left off. Will is struggling with the decisions he has made and Bristol is offered a new temp position.
Will has not yet come to turns with his deep rooted child abuse trauma, that makes him believe not to be deserving of love and being undeserving of happiness. an asshole who thinks he’s a worthless monster.
Will decided I removed the rest of the danger. I removed myself. to abandoned Bristol, but is not happy with that decision.
But than Bristol shows up at the Hughes Industries headquarters, and Will I’m going to spontaneously combust.

Will is extremely all over the place. Still firmly believes he does not worthy of a normal life and love, but when Bristol picks up a strep throat infection, he brings her and the twins back to his house to get better. He refused to acknowledge how having Bristol and the twins with him affects him This is something out of someone else’s fantasy. The person you love at home at the end of the day. A family that’s not fucked up. Someone who says hi like they’ve been waiting for you. Like you’re not a monster.

I liked how Will's brothers, Sinclair and Emerson are very much present in this book. They bring family ties with love, humor and emotions to the story.
I wonder and hope Amelia Wilde will write Sinclair's story too.

Told in dual POV alternating between Will and Bristol, it is clear that Will needs Bristol. Luckily he manages to see that she is not afraid of his inner demons, that she likely is strong enough who silence them.
The book ends on two major cliffhangers and I'm very much looking forward to the third and final book in the trilogy.

Well, I’ll say one thing for Will Leblanc's crazy roller coaster of a life. It certainly keeps you guessing! Pour guy just can’t catch a break. If you’ve read Blackmail, you know there's a possibility our wounded hero just might have a heart under all that alpha-hole behavior. We get to see a little bit more of it in this installment, and it's a beautiful sight to behold.

He certainly has his challenges, especially when his company merges with Hughes Corp., and Bristol gets a temp job there. He thought he was doing what he needed to in order to protect her and her siblings, Mia and Ben. And in his own way, he was taking care of them from afar.

But Bristol is back in his life, and a little too tough to resist. And just when Will can see the possibilities, when he lets himself see a life he never thought he could have, and when he's ready to welcome that life with open arms…the rug gets pulled out from under him.

Gah, y'all, this is such a phenomenal story! I was dying, waiting for this installment to get here, and I’ll be dying again waiting for the conclusion. But you know what? I would die a thousand deaths waiting for more of Will LeBlac. No regrets, because it is so, so worth it!

Fantastic second book in Will and Bristol’s story. So much emotion and angst and trauma, it had me gasping for breath at times and sighing with relief at others. This couple is fated, meant to be together, but their relationship will always be tumultuous and filled with tension and sadness. But there is hope, it starts with caring and concern. Will battles his so called monster to be a better man, and poor Bristol just wants to survive, to find her stride, and visit the beach.
Poor Mia and Ben, my heart breaks for these twins who have already been through so much in their young lives.
I need Coercion so badly!

This is hands down one of my favorite Amelia Wilde stories to date! I just finished a few hours ago so I need a minute to put my thoughts together but I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS STORY!!

The short version of it all is the perfection that is Will and Bristol’s characters. They both have huge circumstances they carry on and inside themselves that not only pretty much stop them from living their best life in the here and now, but also do not allow them to break the barrier and move past them. But they’re fated in the best possible way and they are both so fascinating to me!

Extortion is a more sexually driven story and really showcases how compatible and explosive Will & Bristol are to each other. THEY ARE PURE FIRE! Their story is past-paced and riddled with so much dysfunction that even I have questions on how their journey could possibly wrap up in just another book. I mean I don’t think I’ve ever advocated for more story before I get that HEA sweet spot, but these two might just need that! There’s a whole lot of reviews out there that give enough plot-points away that I don’t have to detail this but suffice it to say these two are still walking a tightrope journey in my opinion and I couldn’t even begin to guess how all of this will somehow come together but I AM HERE FOR ALL OF IT!!

This is the second book in this trilogy and it was really so much more emotional than I expected. Also, I felt I got more insight into Will’s behavior and feelings.
His relationship with his brothers became a bit more clear.
Bristol shows her strength in this book, I really like her tenacity, loyalty and caring nature.
Ben and Mia, her young twin siblings play a big part in the storyline. I love them, they’re mature and responsible for their age.
Life’s been tough so they’ve learned a lot fast. They’re very clever and have big hearts. I adore them!
Will’s brothers make appearances. They add humor, heart and warmth to the story. I love that they’re in multiple scenes and plot points in the story.
I enjoyed this book so much. It wasn’t what I was expecting.
It’s more emotional than sexual…. Though, that aspect is very hot and quite a bit kinky. (Nothing WILD or out of the box.)
I love these characters, their explosive chemistry and naughty, naughty games that they play together.
It ends on a huge cliffhanger, I am on pins and needles waiting for the conclusion of this trilogy.
I love the characters so much and the storyline was never dull or ordinary.
Usually a 2nd book in a trilogy is my least favorite, I liked this as much as the first book.

Note: I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Note 2: This is a trilogy. Blackmail is the first. Extortion is second. Coercion is the third and final book, coming January 10 2023.

Triggers: child abuse, abandonment, cons, sexual Russian roulette games, agoraphobia, dementia, kidnap reference, violence.

Wow this second novel really took things to a higher notch. And I’m not sure I can be more impressed.

The drama continues from the last book - as to Bristol trying to find Will.

She finds him but so do her past problems. And now the family is in trouble again? Can Bristol and Will save them while managing their own demons coming at them from every possible angle?

As always the story was on a high note. Despite it seeming repetitive at times, and the cliches only going higher - the story was quite addictive as well in its own right.

Now even the antihero might’ve found love, and some reunions from his family - I’m sure the drama will rise even higher in the next book.

And hopefully more character growth since there wasn’t much difference from the last book. As always loved family appearances from both protagonists ends.

I loved the banter, the chemistry, the writing, the characters (even though the heroine annoyed me sometimes with doormat behaviour), the action of a corporate work office (felt like watching the office but more thrilling and less offensive at least generally). Maybe some romance was there but I still feel it was lacking. But perhaps the final book will indeed solve those qualms too - who knows.

Either way loved this book - and I can’t wait for the next book - the amped tension is high in this one.

Until the next read,

Review:

“He dropped me like a temp. Which I was. Which I am. Temporary.”

After being abandoned by Will in the end of Blackmail, Bristol is trying to live her life and missing him every day. On the other hand, Will, although he thought it was better to leave Bristol, has been miserable ever since. When they face each other again, things escalate quickly.

I guess my favorite parts in all Amelia’s books is that she always adds at least a chapter where one of the characters stays inside their heads having mental monologues. While it may sound boring, these scenes are always extremely well written. Also, I liked that events that happened in Finn’s book are connected to this story and we can have another perspective.

Are the MCs being “not smart” and stubborn here? Most definitely! Is the third book bound to be angsty? You bet! But I can’t wait!

Amelia Wilde returns with Extortion, the continuation of Will LeBlanc and Bristol Anderson's complicated and emotional story as they are forced to acknowledge and confront their feelings for each other. These two simply burned up the pages with their incredible chemistry, rough and dirty sex, and heartbreaking romance. Bristol is left picking up the broken pieces of her heart following Will's sudden departure. Without a goodbye from the man she was falling for, Bristol attempts to move on by taking another temporary job at Hughes Financial Services. Will thought he was doing Bristol a favor when he left her behind but this has backfired on him—he is miserable, angry, and misses her terribly. However, fate intervenes unexpectedly and they meet again but she is no longer working for him.

"But he didn't feel like a cliché to me. He felt like a secret stretch of sand by the ocean. Beautiful and rocky and wild."

Will continues to fascinate me because he is the type of character who wants what he shouldn't have. Although he believes he is undeserving of her warmth, love, and kindness, Will wants this so desperately. I thought this trait was incredibly precious because despite all his attempts at pushing her away, Bristol accepts and loves all of him... including his monstrosity. There is no denying that Will and Bristol are meant to be together but their relationship is complicated by the fact that he is unable to let go of his anger and past. Although he tries to close himself off from his family and Bristol, Will can't help but want to share parts of his life with her and wanting more. I also love that Bristol has become more assertive and confident with Will because she knows exactly who she wants this time.

"All the money in the world couldn't keep me from wanting her like this. Like a monster."

In the end, I absolutely can't wait for Coercion because this book ends with a heart-stopping and emotional cliffhanger that left me reeling from shock. It was completely unexpected and I am worried for Will and Bristol. This book had just the right amount of angst and steamy love scenes. I also loved Will's internal conflict as he is forced to reckon with his own feelings for Bristol. He wants her so desperately but believes that she deserves better than him. In many ways, Will reminds me of Amelia's previous heroes: Gabriel Hill and Leo Morelli. Fans of the Midnight Dynasty universe will be happy to know that some characters also make an appearance. I want to note that Will and Bristol's story also intersects with Skye Warren's Two for the Show. I highly recommend this book to those who loves the tortured and prickly hero who wants to love his sweet and selfless heroine but doesn't believe he deserves her.

Another angsty, spicy success! I am really enjoying this trilogy!

Extortion is the second book in the Controlling Interest Trilogy. It’s not a standalone. You must read Blackmail first.

I absolutely loved Bristol in this book. She is done with Will’s shenanigans and is ready to take what’s hers. Watching Will struggle over that was delicious. He wants her so freaking badly, but considers himself a monster. He just doesn’t believe he deserves her. I always love an emotionally tortured anti-hero and this author writes the best of them! The self deprecation was leading to some very sexy tension during Will’s inner monologue. So hot!

Speaking of hot, this book was full of spice. I honestly have no idea how either of them got any work done during the day. Will should be happy to have sold his company since he seems to spend most of his time in the copy room or women’s bathroom.

There were some really lovely LeBlanc family moments in this one. I continue to love watching the LeBlanc brothers create positive family memories. Emerson’s evolution has been amazing. One of my favorite parts of the Midnight Dynasty world is getting to see our favorite characters pop up in other stories like my favorite book boyfriend, Leo, who also does make a small appearance.

The events in this book also run parallel to the trilogy about Finn Hudson and Eva Morelli by Skye Warren. It was interesting to see some of those events from Will and Bristol’s perspective. Will sold his company to Finn’s company, so the stories are kind of entwined.

This story ends in multiple cliffhangers and I can’t wait to see Bristol and Will come together and finally get their HEA in Coercion, which is expected to publish in January.

I am officially an Amelia Wilde addict. Her creation of these interconnecting families and dark underworlds and flawed and tragic MCs leaves you desperate for more. This book so casually connects established characters from the Bishops Landing world and we see events from other perspectives. I devoured Extortion in one sitting as I could not put it down.

This books picks up where book 1 ended. Will has moved on with the merger of his company. He is intent on protecting Bristol and her siblings from his darkness and danger. Will cannot control his need for violence and pain. Bristol is finding her feet and working a new temp job. When she complains about harassment and is offered a new contract her path crosses Wills again and their sparks reignite.

This is really a part of their story about finding their places in each others lives and families. Bristol finds confidence, strength and affection amid Will's family. Will unlocks parts of his heart to become a partner, supporter and friend to Bristol and her younger twin siblings. These two just get each other. And Bristol comes into her own in that she stops allowing Will to brush her off. She no longer accepts his BS.

Another great LeBlanc brother story with a pretty stressful cliffhanger if I'm honest.

I read this entire book in one sitting because once I started, I couldn't put it down!

We picked up right where Blackmail left off, and it just took off from there. Bristol is such a sweet, caring character, always focused on her 10 year old siblings and on Will. Will is a haunted, lost man who needs the warmth and stability that Bristol can give him, if only he allows it.

We see a lot of growth from both of these characters, and a lot of playful, fun moments with the twins and with Will's brothers. I love Sinclair and am hoping he gets a book as well. It ends on a mega cliffhanger and I'm dying to see how the series ends!

For those with "triggers", no sharing, no menage, no m/m.

The second installment in Will and Bristol’s unique story was fast paced and entertaining. I loved watching Will let down his guard and show vulnerability. I’m a big fan of the Leblanc brothers. They have a complicated and traumatic past, but they’ve banded together to survive. The cliffhanger ending left me with so many unanswered questions. I can’t wait to see how this Controlling Interest series ends.

This is the second piece of Bristol and Will's story, and oh what a tempting story it is! Be prepared, because this book is going to give your heart a workout. Rich angst, tantalizing drama, raw emotion, stunning twists, thick tension and steamy heat skillfully crafted into captivating and consuming web that pulls you in and will have you wickedly craving book 3. Will and Bristol are fire and ice. The LeBlanc Brothers are tortured souls and Will is just as tortured as Emerson. Getting different POV with each brother is intense. There's a ton of internal struggle going on with Will as he comes to grips with his feelings.

This book makes me want Sinclair's story now! I loved his interaction with the twins while Will was taking care of Bristol.

Oh... that ending had me throwing my kindle though!!! Bring on Coercion and the finale of this trilogy.

H : Will Leblanc
h : Bristol Anderson
Part of a series : ✅ Book 2 in Controlling Interest trilogy
Can be read as a Stand-alone : ❎
Cliffhanger : ✅
Rating : An enjoyable, solid 🌟🌟🌟🌟

The story of Will Leblanc and Bristol Anderson, which started in Blackmail, continues in Extortion, the second book in the Controlling Interest trilogy.

Book two, Extortion, picks up where book one (Blackmail) ended on a cliffhanger. Will has now walked away from Bristol, making a clean, brutal break. He thinks of himself as “an angry, violent waste of space” and he does not trust himself not to ruin Bristol’s life. He believes that he is a monster and that Bristol is not safe around him. “She cannot stay with me. It’s too dangerous. I won’t just hurt her in the fun, sexy way she’s imagining. I’ll bruise her. Mark her. Ruin her.”

Will has sold his company, Summit, and has signed it over to Hughes Industries. He is now working at Hughes Industries (with Phineas Hughes as it’s COO) but nothing feels right without Bristol, not the fancy luxurious office, the extravagant furniture, the air, not even his clothes. Not only does Phineas Hughes make an appearance, but so do Will’s brothers, from other trilogies in the series. This added more depth and world building and enhanced the story for me.

Bristol ends up crossing Will’s path and as expected there is a pull and push and conflicting emotions. “An executive and a temp - practically a cliché. But he didn’t feel like a cliché to me. He felt like a secret stretch of sand by the ocean. Beautiful and rocky and wild. The kind of place you have to work for.” And Bristol knows how to work to get Will, despite his feelings : “I’m a real-life nightmare, and Bristol’s a dream. They don’t belong together.” Bristol knows how to break Will’s iron clad control and get under his skin: “I came into work without panties for a reason.” One can only admire a woman who has the confidence to go after what she wants . . . even if she has to sometimes play “dirty”.

Extortion ends on a cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the third book, which will conclude this trilogy.

Extortion
(Controlling Interest #2)
By Amelia Wilde

Emotions have the upper hand as readers join Bristol and Will on a journey that opens up the past and the present and has you tied to this story. You won’t want to put this book down!

This author has picked up Bristol Anderson and Will LeBlanc’s story almost exactly where we left them in book one. Bristol is in a new temporary position, she and her sibling’s still living in the “renovated” old apartment and Will has moved on…or has he?

If you know Will LeBlanc you know about his trust issues and without Bristol around him; his ability to have faith or trust anything right now is plummeting.
He has no way to work out the issues he is trying to deal with and it almost feels like he is drowning….

Bristol just wants to see him one more time, and then maybe one more time after that. The woman who seemed so meek has found her backbone and when needed it’s Bristol who sets the terms. Not something our Will is use to!

With several major issues in the background one has no way of knowing what is going to happen next. There’s trouble at Hughes Financial, there is someone who keeps phoning his office but never revealing who they are and Bristol and the twins might still be in danger.

Extortion sucks you into a story where trust and safety become the main issues while Bristol and Will try to figure out if and how they can have the things they could give each other, someone who cares, someone you trust and someone who you love. They are going to need that as they enter into book three Coercion, which is bound to start off with a Bang!

⚠️Check triggers⚠️

Bristol is working for a new company as a temp, but she can't help but miss her old company, and her old boss, Will LeBlanc. When she gets a call about a new temporary position, she takes it. She's in for a surprise when she learns her new role is at Will's new company. He tries to scare Bristol off, but she refuses to back down. When Bristol needs help, Will steps in to take care of her and her siblings. As they spend time together, he realizes he could have a life with Bristol, but outside forces threaten to tear them apart.

This was a good addition to the series. I enjoyed seeing Will trust Bristol enough to open up about his past. He made me melt when he was taking care of her and the twins. He acts like he's a terrible person, but then does the sweetest things for the people he loves. I enjoy the angst between him and Bristol. They have great chemistry and care a lot for one another. I just want him to stop trying to push her away and fully give in to his feelings for her.

I did enjoy this book but it felt like something was missing. I didn't quite understand why Will viewed himself as a monster. I understand it has to do with his childhood, but it didn't fully make sense to me. It felt like he was assigning this title to himself rather than being a monster, which is probably the point Amelia was trying to make. It just didn't fully work for me, but I still enjoyed the story.

I'm excited to see how the story ends and I'm hoping Sinclair gets his own story!

Thank you to Amelia and Valentine PR for the early copy in exchange for an honest review!

Will Le Blanc is a monster. His mother abandoned the family and died. His fault. He and his brothers can’t go any amount of time without fighting. His fault. His brother Emerson experiences anxiety. His fault. So when Will broke up with Bristol Anderson, he was doing it for her own good. When Bristol gets a temp job at Will’s new company, he can no longer hold back - he has to have her, and their relationship is renewed. Time and time again, Will proves that he is caring, fun, and loving. He takes care of Bristol when she’s sick and is great with her two young siblings. Bristol stands up to Will and refuses to be pushed away. She’s determined to show him what they could have together. Even Will and his brothers are getting along, and it seems Will might be cut out for family life after all. Everything is perfect. Until it’s not. Will is going to have to summon every bit of resolve he has to save his relationship and his family. Lives and love are depending on him.

This book! I am experiencing a serious book hangover. I didn’t realize it at the time, but as I was reading, I was holding my breath and clenching every muscle in my body! Extortion is a phenomenal read! As usual, Wilde has written strong, dynamic characters and created thoroughly compelling plot, I was able to do little else until I finished reading. I adore Mia and Ben, Bristol’s twin brother and sister. Will’s brothers are fascinating and fun, and I love Emerson’s interactions with the kids. This book is a banger!

Extortion is book two of a trilogy, so you’ll definitely want to read Blackmail first, but you’ll be so glad you did. Read this and let me know what you think - I’d be love to discuss!

This book gives more insight into Will. Why the way he is. Why he needs what he needs and why he hates what he hates.
It’s emotional and heartbreaking at times. I could feel Will’s pain and anguish.
I loved how Bristol never gives up on him. Even while at times he was just plain mean. Her heart never lets him go. She loves wholeheartedly and selflessly.
With her kindness and compassion she slowly starts to crumble the very high walls he has built around his heart and his feelings.
Their chemistry is still there, more than ever. It’s hot and even more intense.
While their lust and passion sizzles hotly. Their spiritual and emotional connection was lacking.
But that changes with time and that bond grows as well. Will sees more with Bristol. He feels more with her. His pain easies when she with him. She’s his calm, she’s his peace. And he’s slowly recognizing this and actually starts to accept it.
I loved the bond that is also acquiring with him and the twins. It made my heart happy.
He makes them feel that they can depend on him. And they make him feel lighthearted.
Just when I’m starting to think everything is on the right track for everyone.
Things take a drastic turn and some dangerous twists break the bubble of happiness we were all living in.
That cliffhanger had my heart thumping wildly and left me stunned.

What a way to end a book!!! Another fabulous read by Amelia Wilde! Extortion is book 2 in the Controlling Interest series. These Leblanc men just make me want to hug them and not let go. So much struggle and pain.
Will's convinced he's a monster and Bristol is determined to prove him wrong. He feels like he's on a downward spiral with nowhere to funnel his aggression and frustrations. But when something unexpected happens, he sees what may be the beginning of light at the end of the tunnel.

During an unplanned getaway with Bristol and the twins, Will starts to accept the idea that a future with Bristol could be possible, but then a ghost from his past comes back to haunt him, and their world comes crashing down around them.

This book is like one big ball of angst. You spend the whole time waiting for the bomb to drop, and just when you start to feel good about where things are going, you get hit with a tidal wave of emotion and are left dangling off the side of a cliff. I can't wait for the next book!!

POV: First person / Dual
Genre: Billionaire / Blackmail / Office Romance

𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 is the second book in Amelia Wildes 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵 series. Set in the 𝘔𝘪𝘥𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 𝘋𝘺𝘯𝘢𝘴𝘵𝘺 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥 , Extortion follows Billionaire Businessman Will LeBlanc, the brother of Emerson from 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘰𝘳 𝘛𝘳𝘪𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺, and his now ex-temp secretary, Bristol Anderson.

Obsessive and controlling Will, is a broken alphahole, having sold his company, Summit Equity, the sale has the added bonus of a clean break from Bristol. However his plan backfires when she takes a temp job at Hughes Financial Services, working on the exact same floor as him…

Will let Bristol go to protect her and her siblings, Mia and Ben, it was his own way of taking care of them from afar. But now that Bristol is back in his life, its too much temptation. I loved how possessive Will is of Bristol...that bathroom scene - WOW IYKYK! His chemistry with her was dynamite, full of desire and obsession.

Amelia always writes the most incredible male characters, and Will is no exception! Broken with seemingly indestructible walls, an alpha hole with a dark mind and a ruthless streak, but with a vulnerability that simmers under the surface that has you rooting for him.

𝗘𝘅𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 ends in another cliffhanger, and I’m now desperately awaiting the release of 𝘊𝘰𝘦𝘳𝘤𝘪𝘰𝘯, so I can finally get the ending to Will and Bristol’s story.

Prepare for a wild ride. After learning Bristol stole money from her temp. job and from Will, we learn of his terms of repayment. However he doesn’t factor that his deal with Bristol will create feelings for her. He doesn’t believe in love and only considers her his workplace wh*$@. However when he steps in to help her, her realizes that she is much more. Believing that he’s a monster and she’ll never be safe around him, he does what he feels is best and sends her away. Miserable without each other, their lives again intersect and the pull they have is undeniable. Vowing to keep her close & protected, he does just that. But feelings are messy and even if we try to shove them away, they still make their way. Just when they’re making headway, something unfathomable happens to each of them. Will they be able to move on through their challenges or will they allow them to separate what they’ve built.

And the plot thickens yet again for Will and Bristol. More twists, more jaw dropping moments, more baggage, and so much drama. Will continues to live up to the complicated LeBlanc hero-brand, especially was we dig deeper under his layers. He just can’t stay away from Bristol. After the tense and lusty first installment, Amelia gives us a chance to further deepen the emotional connection between these two- and both certainly have some baggage. Like his brother before him, he’s not sure his heart can work in the way that Bristol deserves - and with all that is happening with his relationship with her and the evolution of his business, he’s lost a bit of the carefully curated control he so desires. Fortunately, Bristol doesn’t let him fully push her away, and her fierce loyalty and care for others keep her trying to maintain her tether with Will, and gives her some compassion for his emotional stuntedness. Of course, another cliffhanger- anxious to see how it all ends!

Oh Will, you beautifully damaged alphahole, how I do love thee!!

Extortion is book 2 in the Controlling Interest trilogy and Will LeBlanc is not having an easy time of it. He’s struggling with the merger of his company with Hughes Financial division of Hughes Industries and whether he wants to admit it or not, he misses Bristol. He thinks his done the right thing for Bristol and her siblings but fate obviously doesn't think so because she has thrown Bristol right into his path and she is not going easy on him.

There is just so much that I loved about this book.... the bantering between Will and his brothers, the hot AF sexy times, the fierceness of Bristol trying to get Will to open up and the angst. The past just seems to keep coming back to get both Will and Bristol.....like OMG I need the 3rd book now!!!

Due to his past Will doesn’t trust himself around Bristol and her siblings so he decides the best way to keep them safe is by distancing himself from them. That decision didn’t turn out the way he planned when after his business merger he finds out that she is one the employees.

Bristol was devastated when Will pushed her out of his life but she people depending on her so she has no time to wallow in her pain. Working for Hughes is exactly the break that she needs and keeping their distance is proving to be quite the challenge especially when Will shows her both his caring and dominant side.

Both Bristol and Will are captivating characters, and both of their siblings just enhance the story. Hot chemistry and all the feels lead up to a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting more of this couple and their story.
