The plan was simple. Aria and her twin brother, Lorenzo, agreed that they would not enter into the family business of organized crime. With a turn of events, Lorenzo decides to fill in the seat as his father’s successor while Aria has deviated away from the lifestyle by cutting all ties with her family. When Lorenzo calls for her to return home to attend their father’s funeral, Aria finds herself sucked back into the life she’s run away from for so long. Her brother is head of the Cassariano family and things have changed greatly. To make matters more complicated, she finds herself caught in a love triangle between two men. One that gives her a sense of stability and another who ignites a fire within her.
Aria finds herself torn between two the one she’s made for herself and the one she was born into.
My Thoughts: Aria was born into a dangerous life of privilege. After years of severed ties, unexpected events bring her back to her family. The story is mainly about Aria and how she navigates a male-dominated world. She is tough and isn't afraid to stand up to men, unlike most women. Throughout this book, Aria is torn between Nate - who would be a perfect match for her, and Luca - the mysterious rival boss of her family. There were so many layers between these characters that slowly were revealed. This isn't your typical mafia romance and that made it more enjoyable. This book was a page-turner with suspense and an open-interpretation ending for the reader. I thought it was brilliant and can't wait to read more from this author.
Marianna Buffolino is a creative genius! I love that this novel, with all its unpredictable twists and turns, was written by the author in a style that led my imagination from scene to scene, that I absolutely can't put the book down. The suspense flowed from page to page, kept me guessing, and, the flashbacks were so good as to assist in the understanding of each character's flaws and motives. The novel has the complete ingredients for mob-affiliated family dynasties - the romance, the glamour, the calculated power moves, the privileges and the fatalism among others.
In reality, I think that any person, minus the drama of a rich and powerful background, can relate to the character of Aria. What I'm trying to say here is that we have a part of our lives that we were born into and we have the other part of our lives that we make for ourselves. When life throws a curveball, even the things that we have promised to do or not to do can be challenged at some point and the narrative of any promise can change. I think that's why some siblings can be weld together while some can be pulled apart forever, because of circumstances beyond control. Death of a parent is just one of them. We have experiences of loyalty vs. betrayal, security vs. paranoia. In reality, we have people in our lives who offer stability and others who offer another path: a fork road that makes us choose how we want to live. In this novel, it was represented through two different kinds of life that Aria can choose from and it was also represented through a love triangle. Aria is relatable, being both strong and flawed. Her life is relatable because whichever path she chooses, presents risks just the same. While Nate and Luca are both distinct in their individualities, neither of them are sufficient to give Aria the life that she deserves and completes her. With Nate, it's a sweet life. With Luca, it's a spicy life. Neither is boring and I find both men sizzling, steamy and sexy in their own way. That's the reason why she loved both men.
I liked how the author ended, or open-ended, this novel. Whether there's a sequel or none, this novel will survive periods of time, because as a reader, I was allowed to create my own conclusion. Buffolino left the gateway open, true to its from, and that's the author's ingenuity! I have read novels like this that didn't have sequels but effectively stayed in my memory for decades like a classic because, yes, the ending kept my imagination up and still going. Although if the author decides to write a sequel, I have no doubt that fans like me are waiting. I truly enjoyed this novel. Entangled indeed and Buffolino is outstanding here.
A compelling story that features Aria's life enmeshed among a lot of things but majorly a family involved in the crime business that she left behind, owing to the very particular 'mafia lifestyle', only to end up entangled with another man involved in the life of work of organized crime. Both the twins, Lorenzo and Aria Cassariano had decided to not end up in the continuum of this business until the death of their father, when Lorenzo takes it up in succession. However determined to stand by her choice Aria would be, her life has other plans for her, in fact, choices for her to make.
On one side, there's Nate, friends with her since high school who offers her sweet romance and a rather static life, unlike Luca, an alpha male, a mafia boss, who will drag her back to a life she ran away from. It is yet another fictional story in the market for readers to entertain themselves but it promises more than that to its readers. Fictional stories are just another useless form of text unless they can be remembered without making an effort. I'd say this is one such novel. It doesn't just bring a story but it brings Aria to its readers!
It is thoroughly composed of characters that people can genuinely relate to, feel for, and interpret. And hence, character development is such a part of this book that stands out from tons of other mafia romances lying around. It is characterized by empathy, thoughts, friendship, family, relationships and emotions that make the readers want to stay and get up only when the story ends. The characters, the dialogues, the scene, twists and turns, everything is compelling enough for the readers to inculcate themselves into this tale emotionally which urges the readers to wonder about what's coming next or even end up imagining themselves inside the plot. A little large in length, undoubtedly, but this is the perfect mafia romance one could proudly binge-read in a few hours.
As an avid reader of romance novels, I'm always a bit apprehensive about picking up a book from the mafia romance genre. But "Fallacy: Entangled" by Marianna Buffolino shattered all of my expectations and swept me up in a gripping and compelling story that I couldn't put down.
From the very first page, I was entranced by the complex and flawed protagonist, Aria, who left her mafia family behind to build a life for herself. But when she's pulled back into the family business and caught in a steamy love triangle between her friend Nate and rival mafia boss Luca, her carefully constructed world is turned upside down.
What sets "Fallacy: Entangled" apart from other books in the genre is the depth of the characters and their relationships. Each character is skillfully drawn, adding layers of complexity to the story and making it impossible to choose sides in the love triangle. I was constantly switching my allegiances between Aria, Nate, and Luca, which is a testament to Buffolino's ability to create fully-realized and dynamic characters.
The pacing and plot of the book are expertly crafted, keeping me completely engrossed from beginning to end. The occasional shifts in perspective and flashbacks added to my understanding of the characters' motivations, making me feel more invested in their journeys.
The ending of "Fallacy: Entangled" is both satisfying and tantalizing. It leaves the door open for future stories in the series, which I'm eagerly anticipating. Overall, "Fallacy: Entangled" is an incredible and enjoyable read that I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a complex and engaging romance story that defies stereotypes. Marianna Buffolino is a masterful author who has breathed new life into the mafia romance genre, and I can't wait to see what she does next.
Fallacy: Entangled by Marianna Buffolino is a passionate romance novel encompassing love and loss. Aria and her twin were separated by family obligations and on opposite US coastlines. I was enthralled with the lifestyle that Aria had tried to leave behind full of murder, high-powered men, and New York mob life. Aria is fierce in business and love, running two companies and two relationships. She faces so many decisions in a very short amount of time after her father passes and her twin brother wants to reconnect in New York. I was obsessed with this book! I picked it up thinking I would read a few chapters and did not put it down until I read the last pages three times. The relationships between the characters are dynamic and I really enjoyed how relatable the issues the character's face are. Aria may not be looking for love but her sweet and fiery personality has sparked interest for Logan, Luca, and Nate. Aria and Nate have been friends forever will taking the relationship to the next level be a love to last or the demise of their entire friend group and business venture? Aria and Luca are keeping a lot of secrets from each other, will Luca’s business with Aria’s twin Enzo demolish the building romance? The author did a wonderful job relating the reader to the emotions that the characters were feeling. The storyline was captivating and easy to follow, the dialogue was full, and the sultry scenes well detailed. The book is not for the YA audience. The connections between the characters and how they tied together in the past and present kept me guessing throughout the entire book. There are definitely some unanswered questions that left me hoping for a sequel! I Would have stayed up all night if there was one already published!
"Fallacy" by Marianna Buffolino is an engrossing and dark romance novel that explores the power dynamics and moral dilemmas surrounding the mafia world and will keep readers on the edge of their seat from start to finish. The book follows the story of Aria and Lucas two individuals from the same world but who live to completely different lifestyles, that are brought together by determination, lies, deals, secrecy and most importantly a sexual attraction that is undeniable.
Buffolino's writing is both vivid and evocative, painting a compelling portrait of the dangerous and alluring world of organized crime. The characters are complex and multifaceted, with their motivations and actions often shrouded in secrecy and intrigue. The romantic tension between Aria and Lucas is palpable, and readers will find themselves rooting for their love to triumph despite the many obstacles in their way.
What sets "Fallacy" apart from other mafia romance novels is Buffolino's skillful exploration of the moral gray areas that surround the mafia world. The book delves into the complicated and often conflicting loyalties that mafia members must navigate, and the consequences of their choices.
Overall, "Fallacy" is a gripping and thought-provoking romance novel that will keep readers engaged from beginning to end. Buffolino's writing is both atmospheric and emotionally resonant, and her ability to craft complex characters and intricate plotlines is truly impressive. If you're a fan of dark and steamy romance novels with a mafia twist, then "Fallacy" is definitely worth a read.
If you are a fan of romance novels, Fallacy: Entangled will not disappoint! The combination of beautiful storytelling and steamy encounters will keep you turning page after page.
One thing I loved about this novel was the character development. Too often we see stories that only focus on the character development of the central characters. What’s special about this book is a well rounded development of characters, giving each one a believable and unique personality, allowing the reader to immerse themself even more into this story.
The different relationships that Aria forms with Luca and Nate draw the reader in, giving you two separate and quite different personalities to root for. Fans of mafia romances will be taken with Luca’s gruff, boss-like mentality, while fans of a softer, more lovable character will be charmed by Nate. Both characters would be perfectly suited for Aria, but perhaps one more than the other.
This book leaves us with what some may call a cliff hanger, but it also allows you as the reader to have the happily ever after that you choose for Aria. While some stories leave readers dissatisfied with the choice of love interest, Fallacy: Entangled gives the reader freedom of choice. It is a happy ending that you get to create with your mind!
Overall this was a great book that I would absolutely recommend to anyone out there looking for a steamy and emotional story filled with lots of ups and downs!
Fallacy: Entangled by Marianna Buffolino follows Aria and her twin brother Lorenzo as they piece together their relationship after the death of their father. Lorenzo is left with his father's legacy, the family business. Meanwhile, Aria is torn between the life she has built for herself and the mafia lifestyle and family she left behind. Having her as part of the mafia family was refreshing and a real twist on classic mafia romance tropes. Aria is a dynamic and flawed character who has to make hard decisions as the events unfold. Buffolino did an incredible job pacing this novel. I was engrossed in Aria’s love triangle between her friend Nate and Luca, the rival mafia boss. It was an emotional rollercoaster, to say the least. Entangled was a perfect name for this story. Buffolino has command over foreshadowing and creating parallels between not only the love interests but with side characters as well. The point of view switches and flashbacks added to the characterization in a way that was both unexpected and helpful in understanding the full motivations of the characters. This story kept me on my toes, and I found myself unable to put it down. The ending left so much room for the story to continue, and I’m so excited to see where Buffolino takes her dynamic and flawed characters next. She is an author to keep an eye on!

such a bundle of entertainment. Once you start reading this book, you won’t be able to put it down. After every page, my heart wanted to read more and more. This is my first book by this author and it did not disappoint. I love the protagonist and all the other supporting characters. The plot flows naturally throughout the book and the imagery makes you feel as if you are right next to the protagonist. The dialogue captures your curiosity into thinking what's going to happen next so I definitely recommend embracing the theme by making this a night read.
Mafia romance can be a difficult genre, because often the male love interests are possessive and controlling, and the female protagonist is often a little weak. This was not the case with Fallacy: Entangled. Aria is a total baddie who becomes trapped in a love triangle and quite frankly, both men are so hot with such strong qualities that it is hard to know who to root for. I love them both. I appreciate that Aria is a career woman who has built a life for herself and can hold her own in a way that reads as very genuine. Her character is strong and independent, while also being flawed in a way that is totally relatable.
Also, thank you Marianna Buffolino for leaving out the cringey language typically used during the spicy scenes. The spice in this book is well written, and there is actually a plot that will keep you hooked. It is a page turner that has me craving more, and I sincerely hope she is promptly working on a sequel. The ending had me wanting more, because it is a little vague and leaves you wondering what exactly happened. I NEED to know. I am totally invested in these characters now and sincerely hope this continues as a series.
I thought this book had some really good quotes. A lot of the lines resonated with me, and I ended up underlining a good portion of the book.
Out of all the characters, Luca has to be my favorite. He caught my attention straight away, even before his name was revealed. I thought he was a strong character, and I can see why Aria was attracted to him. I loved all of the characters and how they each added to the story. I found that they each had their own charms, and it was interesting to see the different dynamics between them.
I thought the language used in this story worked well in painting a picture of each of the scenes. I was able to imagine almost every scene that was happening, which made me feel like I was right there in the middle of the story.
Fallacy: Entangled by Marianna Buffolino was a book that caught my attention right from the start. From the synopsis to the cover, everything about this book pulled me in, and I enjoyed reading this book as a whole.
I've never been a huge fan of mafia romances, and have spent most of my romance-reading days avoiding the genre due to the stereotypes that follow it: possessive and rich mafia bosses and female leads who couldn't think for themselves. Going into this book I expected to be bored by much of the same tropes; instead, I was sucked into the life of our protagonist, Aria, and ended up reading the book in one sitting. Aria, being part of a mafia family herself, gives us a more personal look into mafia dynamics, and the main characters in this book felt real and flawed to me, rather than like a stereotype. We understand Aria's conflict between her independent life she's built for herself, and the mafia family she left behind years ago; in parallel, we're drawn into the love triangle she's caught in, between her close friend Nate and rival mafia boss Luca. I did find some of the writing a little awkward, especially in side character povs and flashbacks that I didn't find entirely necessary. I'm also left confused by the ending, and unsure if this conclusion was meant to be vague, if this sets up for a sequel, or if I missed some reading between the lines. Overall, read this book if you're looking for a sexy, steamy love triangle and a story you can't put down!!
I absolutely loved this book and had a hard time putting it down so that I could get my other responsibilities done. The characters were real and honest, but there were a lot of them, and at times it was hard to see the story through the plot.
I will say I loved Aria’s character. So often you read a book with a strong female that you have a hard time liking because they are awful. Aria was a good balance between strong and independent while still being likable.
I will say they only thing I found disappointing was that the last chapter doesn’t tell you which of the two men she chose to love. I can understand not wanting to be tied to one simply because of a child, but I would have liked to know which one won her over.
Here’s to hoping there are more books in this series and some of the plot holes get filled in.
This book is phenomenal! Especially for a first time author. The writing style is descriptive but immersive and is similar to books such as Ice Planet Barbarian and Crave. It’s easy to keep reading in one sit down with this book especially since every chapter builds up to the next and something new is thrown at you. The smut scenes in the book are very detailed and give those spicy scenes you’re looking for if you’re interested in that kind of genre. Between the love interests the sexy scenes between the both of them in the beginning seemed similar but as it went on you could see the different characteristics between the few. This small detail had me rooting for Luca personally. Would definitely recommend for a binge reading!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
So , this book gave me anxiety lol my emotions were so all over the place . I loved Nate , and Luca . I was hoping it would be both of them at the end with her , to where she didn’t have to choose . Her sleeping with both and leading Nate on killed me . I disliked her for that. But I also know she did love him in her own way. The ending confused me , I had to re read the last few pages before the epilogues. So I could figure out who she choose. I didn’t realize she slept with Logan either until the very end . This book def was a mind twist and had me in my feelz . But I really liked it .
I've never enjoyed a mafia romance like I enjoyedFallacy: Entangled by Marianna Buffolino. This hooked me from the beginning and I felt completely wrapped up in the story. It was truly like watching a reality tv show in book form - which I was 100% here for. I really liked the main characters, and I am always here for a strong female character like Aria. For the record: I am Team Luca. Read this if you love drama, found families, mafia romances, and love triangles!!
This book was thrilling, engaging and spicy! It kept me hooked from start to finish. The author, Marianna Buffolino, creates a fascinating world of family dynamics; mixed with organized crime; mixed with a hot steamy love triangle that leaves you on the edge of your seat. Aria, the protagonist, is a complex and relatable character who is torn between two men and two different lives. She finds herself pulled back into the dangerous and alluring world she tried so hard to leave behind. The love triangle between Aria and the two men adds tension/excitement and drama to the story that makes this hard to put down. This is a must-read for fans of romantic suspense and organized crime readers!
This book had me gripped to my seat the entire time. It is a long book, but you didn't even realize this as I was grabbed a hold of from the first chapter. I thought the character build was great and I always wanted to know what happened next. (SOMEWHAT SPOILER ALERT) The love triangle between the characters Aria, Nate, and Luca had me rooting for one in particular, even though I won't say my opinion. Brining in the aspect of her brother and his situation was a great backdrop to the storyline. I was a little shocked at the end and it left it open to build off of your imagination, or hopefully, a second book. It is a good read and I recommend it.
I ABSOLUTELY ATE THIS UP! Aria finds herself in a love triangle with one of her best friends who has been by her side for most of her life and a mafia boss who gets what's its like to be apart of the lifestyle.
When I tell you that I wanted her to have them both for forever and ever! I started out team Luca after already knowing him from Condemned, but Nate grew on me and he is such a great guy for her!
The spice was incredible AND THE LAST CHAPTER AND EPILOGUES HAD NO BUSSINESS SCRAMBLING MY BRAIN LIKE THEY DID. I will be one of the first to jump on the next book because I need to see how this plays out!
Love everything about this book! There is an open-ended/interpretation style ending that while very well written and fitting is killing me. Lol. I need to know for sure. I was sucked into this story and the characters. While there were a lot of characters it was so well written that it was easy to follow and you learned so much about each of them. Aria was an amazing fmc and I felt connected to her in a lot of ways. A must read. The spice was there but written very well- it was tasteful and appropriate for the book. The storyline was phenomenal. I could read a whole second book just as long following these main characters and love it. 5/5 for me!
This mafia romance had me hooked from the first page. Aria isn’t a meek little girl who falls in love with the big, bad mob boss. She’s strong, she’s got skeletons of her own, and she’s not one to deny herself pleasure.
The cliffhanger definitely has me eager for the next book. Both love interests are a little too lovable, though. I don’t know who I want to have a happily-ever-after with Aria. 🫣
I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys dark romance.
Marianna Buffolino knocked it out of the park with her book Fallacy: Entagled.
For a first project , she was able to weave the story of Aria in such an intricate and interesting manner , that leaves you craving to finish the book so that you can see where the story goes and in which direction Aria ends up heading towards.
The novel touches on familial obligations , criminal communities and good old fashion romantic entanglements. I just couldn't put it down.
This was the first mafia romance I’ve ready! And it was so good! It was dark but not too dark and an excellent balance between spice and story line! I loved Arias take no shit attitude and the dichotomy between Nate and Luca’s characters. If you are looking for a first dark romance or mafia romance, or if you already love the genre this is a winner! It’s a long book, but a quick read because it’s so well paced!
Marianna Buffolino has this creative spark that you can’t help but be drawn in with her art. I loved this book, I loved that it kept you in your toes. I was intrigued just by the synopsis so quickly. The way she writes made my imagination so much more vivid from each scene. I say if you’re into mafia Romances with strong willed female and alpha male. Then I highly recommend this book. I was so captivated and didn’t want it to end. But now I need more books in this series...
I'm so thankful I was gifted this book; Marianna is a new author to me, and I can't wait to read more by her. This book had me hooked from the first chapter, everything was perfect the plot, the characters, the mafia world. it was so freaking good. Don't be intimidated by the thickness of this book because you are so captivated you will fly through it. I need more of this it was such an awesome read.
This book kept me interested the whole time and I found myself thinking of these characters all day long. I loved the relationship between all the characters and especially Aria's saucy personality. I could not put this book down and finished it in two days!! The steamy scenes were written well and definitely kept my interest. I cannot wait to see what this author comes up with next!!
One of the best books I have read all year! This book had romance (of course) but it also had an amazing plot that had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Marianna writes so well that you can picture yourself in this world! (And like gimme cuz I’m crushing on Geo 😍) This is hands down my favorite Mafia book EVER! Read this NOW!
I cannot wait for Condemned to come out, so glad I was able to finish this so close to the release date of Condemned. I loved, loved, loved Aria can honestly say she is going to be forever one of my favorite characters. Spice level: 4
