If you enjoy reading stories about friendship, motherhood, relationships, and self-acceptance, mixed with soul, and just a dash of snark, you're in the right place!

Writing has always been my passion. Sometimes my stories reveal my truest emotions, and sometimes my emotions are just the jumping-off point for a fictional tale. My favorite books always go beyond storytelling and shine a light on the human experience. To me, the wisdom shared between the plot points makes a book exceptional.

A few things about me…
I’m a 70’s Yacht Rock enthusiast.
I’m the friend who organizes all the plans.
I still use a paper calendar.
I hate cooking.
I love karaoke.
I fear cocktail parties.
I’m a self-help junkie.
I’m more obsessed with Harry Styles than my tween daughter.
My standard uniform is athleisure wear and a baseball hat.
I’m a wife and mom of two kids and a very furry dog.

Some of my favorite books...
Everything I Never Told You by Celeste ng
The Dutch House by Ann Patchett
Bear Town by Fredrick Backman
Big Magic by Liz Gilbert
The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak
Miracle Creek by Angie Kim
Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
Nothing to See Here by Kevin Wilson
Honor by Thirty Umrigar
The Vanishing Half by Brit Bennett
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld
One Italian Summer by Rebecca Serle
Everything by Brené Brown and Glennon Doyle

When the Hamilton Beach Moms’ Facebook page starts to allow anonymous posts, some throw caution to the wind, posting all manner of deep, potentially embarrassing issues. Those posts begin to invite controversies and snarky replies. It falls on Laura, local realtor and her friend, Gabriella, local therapist, to try to put the Facebook group back on a positive course.

I really liked this book. It was a fast paced, fun read with lessons! Told from various POVs, the issues touched on various topics such as relationships, sexuality, trauma, even the controversy over the best way to educate a deaf child. Although one of the characters was a bit over the top, the others were quite genuine in how they felt and negotiated the various connections in their lives.

A worthwhile read from a debut author.

I really enjoyed this book! It was a fast, fun read, and although there were some silly parts (the Starwars cosplay 😆) there were also some deeper issues as the main characters struggled with all kinds of issues—their marriages, their sexuality, their relationships with their children & their parents. I loved the format of the different characters’ POVs interspersed with posts to the Mom’s Facebook page. It was a good reminder of the power & support of female friendship.

Every mom has a secret. Will anonymous social media posts expose hidden truths and burn down the internet?

This was a fun read! Mom and friend drama galore! I am sure if you have facebook, you know about the mom advice groups. This book totally reminded me of the one I am apart of, there are SO MANY anonymous posts on it! Laura created the mom page, and thought anonymous posts might help the women in the group be more supportive in their comments, instead of the snarky, rude behavior that has been going on. This book shows us that even if we think we know someone, we truly don’t know what is going on behind closed doors. It gave be Desperate Housewives vibes galore! This book was well written and super entertaining! You should definitely read it!

I was eager to read Anonymous Mom Posts, especially after finding out how much the author and I have in common and learning that she included a character with hearing loss who wears cochlear implants. (That is something personal to my family and I appreciate when authors talk about it in books, especially when cochlear implants are involved.)

The story has a Desperate Housewives feel, had that show taken place in the 2020s. It also reminds me of Workin' Moms and helped me get through missing that show now that the series has ended. I liked all the characters...well, except for one who was meant to be unlikable for the most part. I was actually wondering why we even needed her perspective since she was so nasty all the time, but there's a reason for it and I won't say anything more than that.

The part about CIs definitely stood out to me, as it offers a different perspective about hearing loss that I wouldn't have given much thought to before. However, it opened up a conversation in my home and I'm relieved that it's not the same kind of situation that takes place in the story. All the women had interesting situations between one finding out shocking secrets from their spouse and another trying to fight feelings for someone outside of their marriage, etc. There was also a political divide between one of the couples that was putting a strain on their marriage.

This book shows that you never really know what is going on behind the scenes of someone else's life and that judging them gets you nowhere in life.

This was an enjoyable novel overall and very easy to get absorbed in. I enjoyed seeing the connections between the women, as well. I already can't wait for Jenifer Goldin's next novel!

Funny side note: While I was reading this book, my husband told me we needed to order a new Hamilton Beach appliance for our kitchen. Then I looked at the book and it said Hamilton Beach, which is the name of the town where the story takes place!

(Trigger warning at the bottom.)

Movie (or TV series) casting suggestions:
Laura: Andrea Anders
Gabriella: America Ferrera
Julie: Alison Brie
Isabell: Tricia Helfer
Maggie: Ginnifer Goodwin
Indira: Mindy Kaling

A Facebook Hamilton Beach Mom’s page connected all the moms of Hamilton Beach. I found this book really intriguing and getting into the lives of each of them was a worthwhile experience. There is a saying, ‘ You can’t really get to know a person until you get in their shoes and walk around them’. The saying is true in case of each of them. Would you like to be a part of community where women support women? It was all going well for them until one day someone tried to expose their secrets behind anonymous posts. It was such a touching read and I deeply connected with the characters.

I truly loved this book! Finished the whole thing in under 24 hrs. The format was so unique with the Facebook posts leading into the stories. It was so relatable to me as someone who is in many of these fb mom groups and sees all of the drama that arises from them. This book had it all- humor, drama, serious issues, relationships, female friendships. It is definitely one of my very favorite reads and I can’t wait to see what comes next from this talented author!

Incredibly entertaining read! I felt as though I already knew the characters and did not want to say goodbye. Don't let the title fool you. While there are humorous scenes (albeit with a hint of truth to them) and extreme personalities, the author reminds us that navigating parenting, relationships, and adulting, in general, requires grace and forgiveness. Well-written and creatively constructed, turning the last page gave me a tinge of regret. As I nurse my book hangover, I can't help but feel uplifted knowing that this debut author is already working on a second novel. Highly recommend!

I was given an advance copy to read and in exchange for an honest review before its official release. This was a lighthearted, very easy read. I found it to be extremely relatable as I am a part of a few Facebook groups where moms use the anonymous post to ask questions, ask for advice, or for recommendations. The author perfectly portrayed the good, the bad, and the ugly stuff that actually happens. Very entertaining book. Can’t wait to see what she comes up with next.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Anonymous Mom Posts was an absolute delight! From the first page, I could not stop reading! I loved the unique format and how well the book flowed together.

Laura Perry is the moderator of the Hamilton Beach Moms’ Facebook page and hopes the new feature, which allows members to post anonymously, will encourage members to post their questions or concerns without fear. With the new feature, the moms start to post their secrets anonymously, and everything seems to backfire, as rude comments spark more drama. Laura and Gabriella, a new co-moderator, decide to host an in person fundraising event to allow the moms to connect in real life. Will one mom’s plan for revenge threaten the entire community and unveil all the secrets of the community?

I found myself relating to this book so much. Reading through the various comments on anonymous posts was just like what I experience in real life on our local mom groups. I found myself laughing out loud at times because this book was just so true. I really loved how the book showed images of social media posts and the comments. It made it so easy to follow and I just loved the graphics and how they broke up the chapters.

Read if you like:

I feel like this would be the perfect book for a neighborhood book club. It’s guaranteed to make you think more about the members of your community, but also give you something to laugh and talk about because it’s so relatable.

Thank you, Jenifer Goldin, for providing me with a #gifted copy of Anonymous Mom Posts!

This one felt a little all over the place to me… I sensed that she was trying to touch on a lot of hard topics to address many issues that women struggle with, but it was almost over-done. Narrow the focus and speak to a few different topics well, rather than casting such a wide net. Felt like nothing really happened until the last 75% of the book. I didn’t hate it, but this story wasn’t done as effectively as it could’ve been.

I enjoyed this book. It easily kept my interest and it was a nice, light read to breeze through in a day. I really liked the main character and the direction the author took with the social media aspect. Facebook can bring out the awfulness in people but it can also be a supportive, encouraging place if you find the right people. The author also gave a good picture of all the things people can be dealing with or juggling that we know nothing about. Real life. If you’re looking for your next fun read, check this one out!

What a fun read! I loved how Goldin split the main characters into their own stories and posts. Each time you revisited a main character it was like talking to an old friend, except you learned more about their past and dove deeper into their true selves. The novel addresses real multi-generational relationships and the struggles women (and men) face. I was so sad when the book was over as I wanted to keep learning more. Anyone who’s a part of a social media group can relate to the anonymous posts, you don’t have to be a mom! I can’t wait for Goldin’s next book.

I really enjoyed this book. I really liked the premise and the author did a good job including a diverse set of characters. However, I think this book could have benefited from less main characters and POVs. There was just too much going on at once and the author had to rush to find conclusion to their stories. I think focusing on 2 or 3 narratives and then opening this up to a series would have been better. I wanted more of Maggie’s story or maybe even a separate book of Gabby and her mother Carlita.

That being said, I enjoyed reading the story and liked the format.

All the knives come out in this quick and fun read. It’s full of diverse characters- some you’ll love and some you’ll love to hate. The local community Hamilton Moms Facebook Group gets a new option to post anonymously. Suddenly, people are confessing private relationship and family issues and getting everyone’s opinions. There’s snark, friendship, love, revenge.

This novel did a great job showing how terrible some Facebook pages can be. Many groups have turned into forums of people doling out complaints about everything and others giving advice that they have no business giving. Sometimes you can find useful information; but for the most part, it’s a terrible and very opinionated. Then come the anonymous posts— these seem to be the worst for people feeling like they can attack everyone and anyone. One of my favorite quotes in the book: “Face to face and allowing vulnerability is the closeness missing from social media.” Social media can work to connect if not used to attack people.

If you want a good book for a summer beachy day, consider this one!

Special thank you to the author Jenifer Goldin for sending me a copy of her book! I’m definitely a fan now and looking forward to more!

I received this free ARC to provide an honest review.

Wow, I loved this book!!

The premise of the story is that one of the main characters is the moderator of THE Hamilton Beach Facebook page for moms. As the title suggests, several of the characters opt to post about their personal dilemmas anonymously as opposed to under their actual name. These women are turning to social media for support and guidance. Some of the responses they are receiving are helpful, some are very judgmental.

I live in a community that has a local Facebook page for moms that operates in a very similar manner. The need to connect and feel supported rings true.

Following these main characters while they are working through real life issues and trying to manage their day to day responsibilities felt honest and real. I wasn’t sure where the story would go or what the resolution would be. I was delighted as the characters personalities were explained, and the story came to a beautiful conclusion.

As a military wife and having been part of different military spouses or community Facebook pages for wherever we were stationed, Anonymous Mom Posts was almost like being a part of one of those again. These types of Facebook pages have people asking questions that a quick Google search would have answered and usually devolve into bickering and shenanigans. I liked the way each chapter dealt with a different mom and her problems and the use of the FB posts, whether anonymous or not. Some things were funny and quirky while others were more troublesome and darker. In the end, the way the mom's came together and the community that was built was my favorite part. My only real issue with the book was that no one seemed to have just normal mom or relationship issues everyone was dealing with nearly every hot topic of the day so be forewarned that this book needs some CW's.

We've All Seen It

This novel was an easy read, which I enjoyed.

It tells the story of what happens when the moderator of a community mom's Facebook page, normally used as a spot for information and recommendations for doctors, local businesses, etc., begins to allow anonymous posts. The women start to share private, intimate information while asking for advice.

We all know how that turned out ... not only did they receive advice, they also received a lot of negativity and judgment. I know you have seen it yourself. People think they can say anything while hiding behind their computer.

Those posts were deleted and anonymous posts banned, but the damage was done. Can a fundraiser for the local food bank bring the ladies together after the threat of exposing everyone's secrets? Can they come up with a plan to use their time and knowledge for positive goals and forming real friendships? I guess anything is possible.

This book was an enjoyable quick read. I have seen how anonymous Facebook posts can bring out all sorts of responses, some helpful and some snarky. It still surprises me how much people are willing to say from behind a keyboard, that they would never say in real life.

I appreciated the character development (particularly the diversity of the characters, which is reflective of many online communities), but thought at least a couple of the stories were a little predictable (hence the four stars). Overall it was well written, captured the essence of how Facebook communities can be both destructive and constructive, and was an enjoyable read. Perfect for a vacation, airplane, or beach read.

NOTE: I was given an advance copy of this in exchange for my honest review.

Absolutely expected this to be funny and superficial and while funny, it was actually on a much deeper level. Examining the good and bad of Facebook mom groups, this book takes a deep dive into the layers of social media. Any mom will be able to connect with at least one of the challenges these mothers are facing be it in motherhood or marriage.

I loved the little touches and embellishments throughout. The layout of the moderator posts were cute. The icon on each chapter relating to the character was also a nice touch.

Anonymous Mom Posts by Jenifer Goldin. Thanks @anchorheadbooks and the author for the gifted copy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The Hamilton Beach Mom’s Facebook group just begin allowing anonymous posting … and it is entertainment.

I loved the different chapters for the different women. At first I got them confused but then realized that there was a cute little icon at the beginning of each chapter, respective to each individual. The social media posts were great and I loved getting the inside look at who was behind the anonymous posts. Overall a fun and funny story.

Anonymous Mom Posts comes out 5/10.

I was chosen to read the book and review before it’s official release. It was well written and a very interesting perspective on social media. The characters were well developed and relatable. I enjoyed the way the characters “used” Anonymous Facebook posts to get “advice”. I see that often in my own Facebook feed and wonder why people share such intimate information and ask strangers for feedback. I really liked the way Dr. Martinez counseled each of the characters with their dilemma. Clearly well researched in that respect. It was a little predictable, hence the 4⭐️s. I would definitely recommend for a quick and pleasant read.
