I read this book to my son as part of our "one-book-a-day" plan for this year. It is a semi-textured board book that outlines several different types of vehicles such as boats, cars, etc. It was cute and my son liked all the vibrant pictures, but it fell a little bit short on the premise of giving kids different textures to experiment with.

From hot-air balloons to scooping diggers, this book describes "things that go" both on land and in water.

While my older children got more out of Transportation read as part of our weekly summer learning theme, I chose this for my 1 year old daughter and she LOVES IT. Learning the names of the vehicles and repeating the sounds they make are right up her ally right now, and I have been ordered to read this about 80x a day. She will be sad when we take it back to the library. We took a trip to the St. Louis Museum of Transportation and it was fun to see her naming the "painpains" and "choochoos". My three year old also liked it.

Conrad loves these board books! They are a great size, not too long and ideal for little babes. They are very simple and have a certain stock art quality to them leaving a lot of room for talking about colors, textures and stories about the object on the page.

A short board book with pictures of things that go, from boats to rocket ships. The touch and feel aspects are disappointing, not much variety, and there is no story or rhyming.
