This was the one I ended up taking with me to Boston--it came down to DK Eyewitness Travel Guide: Boston and this one, and I randomly grabbed one. Sadly, I realized after I had gotten to Boston that I should have picked the other one. This one had a bit more personality than the Eyewitness guide, but it lacked detail and sightseeing options. Like Mobil Travel Guide Boston, it was restaurant/hotel-heavy, and there was very little for the budget traveler.

What I've learned from my guidebook adventures: Rough Guide needs to do a Boston-focused guidebook (or at least my libraries need to get a copy of it if it exists) with high-quality maps--that would be the perfect guidebook for me.

Very helpful with some good maps and an especially good section on museums. I always look at several travel books before heading somewhere. Each one offers something new, I find.
