“ഹോട്ടലുകളിൽ ഊണിന് ഒന്നേകാൽ അണയാണു ചാർജ്. വലിയ ഹോട്ടലുകളിൽ രണ്ടണ്. ഒന്നേകാൽ അണയ്ക്കുള്ളത് ഉണ്ടാലും കാര്യം കുശാൽ. അതുകൊണ്ട് പുസ്തകങ്ങളുടെ വില ഒന്നേ കാൽ അണ്. ഒരു പുസ്തകം വിറ്റാൽ ഒരൂണു തരപ്പെടണം. അങ്ങനെ പുസ്തകങ്ങൾ കടകൾതോറും, വീടുകൾതോറും കൊണ്ടുനടന്നു വിലക്കുന്നു. അഞ്ചുമിനിട്ട് ആറുമിനിട്ടു വായിക്കാനേ ഉള്ളു. പുസ്തകം വിറ്റു കാശും വാങ്ങി ഞാന വിടെ നില്ക്കും. വായന കഴിയുമ്പോൾ ഞാൻ ചോദിക്കും. "അതു ഞാൻ കൊണ്ടുപൊയ്ക്കോട്ടേ?' മിക്കവരും സമ്മതിക്കും. അങ്ങനെ ഒരേ പുസ്തകം തന്നെ എട്ടും പത്തും പ്രാവശ്യം വില്ക്കും.”
