Susan Cain
“It’s because of relationship honoring, for example, that social anxiety disorder in Japan, known as taijin kyofusho, takes the form not of excessive worry about embarrassing oneself, as it does in the United States, but of embarrassing others.”
Susan Cain, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

Kenny G
“don’t just accept the hard work that’s needed—I thrive on it. I thrive on putting in the long hours it takes, being uncomfortable for long periods of time, knowing that what I’m doing will pay off by allowing me to achieve the skill level I’m looking for.”
Kenny G, Life in the Key of G

Susan Cain
“The meeting of two personalities is like the contact of two chemical substances; if there is any reaction, both are transformed.
—CARL JUNG”
Susan Cain, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

Susan Cain
“It’s as if extroverts are seeing “what is” while their introverted peers are asking “what if.”
Susan Cain, Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking

Henry Winkler
“And in reading Ouspensky—difficult but not totally impossible—I came away with this idea, which became one of the cornerstones of my existence: never finish a negative sentence. When you finish a negative sentence, it grows immediately into a paragraph, and then into a thesis, into so many words that grab your ankles and hold you in place. When a negative thought comes into your mind, you have to literally say out loud, “I have no time now.” People will look at you strangely, but you have to just keep saying it until it lodges in your mind. Release the negative thought before you put a period on the end of it. If you put a period on the end of it, you’re in the morass. On the other hand, if you don’t finish the negative thought, you can get it out of your brain by replacing it with a positive. What kind of positive? What I always say in my talks is that it is a moist chocolate Bundt cake with soft chocolate chips. No frosting.”
Henry Winkler, Being Henry: The Fonz . . . and Beyond
