She laughs and bats her eyelashes, turning toward him, and I clench my teeth. “Oh, hell no,” I mutter, leaning over and taking his face between my hands, kissing him right there in front of an entire baseball stadium full of people. I can feel the curve of a smile on his lips as our mouths press together, a few people in the row ahead of us letting out a cheer.”

I just have a bit of a crush on him.” I’m blushing now and feeling so embarrassed, but it seems like I’m not going to get out of talking to Ken about it. “A crush. You want to squeeze him?” Ken's tentacle arms have scrunched up in that way they do when he’s confused. “Uh, no, that’s another metaphor. I am romantically infatuated with him. I can’t tell if it’s temporary or serious. I don’t know if Seven feels the same way or if it could lead to anything. Can we drop it? And don’t tell Seven?” I ask, desperate to end this line of questioning.”
