Brian Wood-Koiwa is an adult dark fantasy writer, specifically in his UrbanWeird style combining weird fantasy, grimdark, and a smattering of camp set in gritty decadent cities, metropolises, and megalopolises, real and imagined.
He grew up in rural Pennsylvania but became an instant urbanophile upon his first exposure to the wonders and weirdness of The City. He likes to believe cities are living entities independent of their human creators, which is a common motif in his writing.
He now lives in central Tokyo with his husband and a couple of furry four-legged kids.
