Michael Perry is a New York Times bestselling author, humorist and radio show host from New Auburn, Wisconsin.

Perry’s bestselling memoirs include Population 485, Truck: A Love Story, Coop, and Visiting Tom. Raised on a small Midwestern dairy farm, Perry put himself through nursing school while working on a ranch in Wyoming, then wound up writing by happy accident. He lives with his wife and two daughters in rural Wisconsin, where he serves on the local volunteer fire and rescue service and is an amateur pig farmer. He hosts the nationally-syndicated “Tent Show Radio,” performs widely as a humorist, and tours with his band the Long Beds (currently recording their third album for Amble Down Records). He has recorded three live humor albums in

Brewers Baseball Project

My Grandma Perry loved the Milwaukee Brewers. I can still see her in the recliner over by the big wooden console stereo, tapping her Carlton 100 into a cut glass ashtray, hollering in exhortation or cussing in despair, depending on how the game was going. She carried her portable radio and its extendable antenna with her into the kitchen, down to the laundry room, and to the backyard when she’

“Summer here comes on like a zaftig hippie chick, jazzed on chlorophyll and flinging fistfuls of butterflies to the sun.”

“I deserve a swift kick in the shorts for all the times I've stubbornly wound my way through the library stacks, my mule head leading the way, searching fruitlessly for information a librarian could put in my hands in a matter of minutes.”

“It (a singer's voice) sounds as if it was aged in a whiskey cask, cured in an Ozarks smokehouse, dropped down a stone well, pulled out damp, and kept moist in the palm of a wicked woman's hand.”

message 2: by Pat

Pat Padden Just finished The Jesus Cow, Michael, and I wanted to tell you how much I liked it. I think a lot of Harley's reticence and unwillingness to stand up for himself sometimes when he should is something that will resonate with a lot of people. It was a fun read because it was a gentle joshing about being steamrolled by life and love and politicians, but not an all-out rant. Too much of that going on every day. Thanks for the book!

Michael Perry Hi folks. Just finding my way around here. I will be checking in, but for now my most current information and regular updates will be at www.sneezingcow.com. Thank you for visiting and reading. It's 14 below this morning. Must go check the chickens. They are laying ice cubes.
