An electromechanical engineer by education, she enjoys exploring the impacts of technology and magic on people, cultures, and personal interactions. How do you deal with writer’s block?

I have so many projects vying for my attention, when I can't work on what I'm "supposed" to be doing, I'll switch to something else for a bit. As a treat.

Might be another book. Or a short story. Or some worldbuilding. Heck, maybe a poem. Anything to get the creativity flowing again.

Or, when I can't get writing on anything, I'll bake. There's a psychological reward to finishing something, and when the words won't flow, sometimes all it takes is the sense of accomplishing something else first. And with baking, I get to eat it afterward, while contemplating what to write.(less)

And make sure you write what you love. That doesn't have to be the only thing you write, depending on your goals. But make sure to give time to your passion projects. Encourage that passion. Feed it well. Keep your joy alive.(less)
