Daniel Weaver is an internationally published author of short stories in the horror, thriller, and dark fantasy genres. His work has appeared in various publications, anthologies, podcasts, and blogs, including notable markets such as Danse Macabre, and Morpheus Tales.
Additionally, he has served in a variety of roles for various independent publishers, including submission editor, associate editor, and public relations manager.
He has recently finished his debut novel, an upmarket thriller which presents an intense character study of an abuse survivor, nestled between familiar tropes of the horror genre, for which is presently in the process of securing representation.

The book I'm working on now (tentatively titled Lovely, Dark, and Deep), is something that has been brewing for several years.
Originally, it was supposed to be a series of short stories (explaining the various ghosts) and a frame story (the outside who is encountering the ghosts.) A lot of this still remains, but it has now become much more about outsider than the ghosts at this point.
As I developed this character, and her backstory, I realized that too often, characters with mental illness are treated as though they are "damaged" when in reality, most of us are "surviving." So it became my goal to present this character with mental illness, and to present her in an honest, realistic way even if she's in an unrealistic setting.(less)
