PLAY ME: Is a quick kinky romance novella co written by Ker Dukey and K. webster. Spoken in 'Dual Perspectives.'
When it comes to my dark reads these two authors tick that box, so when I saw them co-writing something different with some kink thrown in with a wee bit of dark I had to sign up!!
The one time Quinn lets her hair down at a frat party she doesn’t even want to be at, she downs a few shots to drown out her friends one word phrase of boring.
Quinn can’t take it any more, so she decides to leave the campus party and head out on foot to her apartment around the corner.
A female alone is asking for trouble
A female under the influence is reckless
A man takes advantage of her abusing his authority changing Quinn's life in a flash.
Quinn's always had electric tastes when it's come to secret sexual fantasies and has always dreamed about being taken by force. She reaches out to Joshua who owns a club which allows you to let your inhibitions go in a safe environment, Quinn seeks his help in helping her overcome her fears.
This was a super quick read, wasn't dark at all, it was hot but wasn't that all consuming combusting hot that I was expecting, but overall I did enjoy this one.

I liked both of the characters and their situations nicely balanced each other. Her back story was done well, however, I wished there was a bit more about his story.
The non-con element of the story was definitely a big plus for me. Even if it was just a pseudo non-con, it didn’t take away the heat.
Play Me is a story of facing fears and intensifying pleasures. It would appeal to readers who enjoy a short kinky story with dark elements.

I see her, though. Not just the tougher person she’s projecting, but the one she’s trying to hide. It’s clear she’s both, whether she wants to admit that or not.
I liked both of the characters and their situations nicely balanced each other. Her back story was done well, however, I wished there was a bit more about his story.

Quinn has always had unusual urges but a traumatic incident at college changed everything for her.
Now shes ready to explore her wants and needs further and she asks Joshua the sexy owner of Hush to assist her in making her fantasies a reality.
Hush is a club that caters to certain fantasies in a safe consensual way and when he realises just what Quinn wants Joshua knows he will be the one that will fulfil those needs for her.
But first, he needs to build trust between them both especially considering the suspicions he has over her past.
It wasn't really a dark read at all and I found the interaction between Quinn and Joshua to be extremely bloody hot.
I was definitely in need of a cold dunking after finishing this let me tell you.
As the two spend time together outside the bedroom as well as in it they realise just how aligned their kinks are and start to fall deep for each other.
This really was a very sweet and romantic read with all the feels I do so love a man who is unafraid to express just how he feels without fighting it ever so refreshing.
There was a small bit of danger near the end thrown in but it only played a small part in the ongoing narrative i think it was mainly there to showcase some closure.
I also adored that epilogue so heartwarming.
This was a quick easy read that left me with a lovely warm feeling really enjoyed this one very much.

This truly is a bite-size novella. A true lunch time read. That being said, it does deal with serious subject matter so if you're looking for just plain kink, y0u might want to take that into account. Quinn Washington is a college student at the start of the book. She's always the practical one, responsible one and not really a frat house party girl. One night, at her roommate's insistence, she finally makes it out of the house to a frat party, has a beer or two, and still can't stand the idiocy - it's just not her deal. So she leaves the party for her 10 minute walk home through campus. Needless to say, she doesn't make it home in 10 minutes. Something bad happens and that something is still with her when the book picks up with her at 27 years of age.
Josh Tuck is the owner of a sex club that's on the downlow but very popular. He's seen every type of request there is. But when he gets a very specific request from a 'Violent Q' asking to role play out rape fantasies, he balks at the idea. When he has his meeting with the would be client, it is none other than Quinn. He sees she needs this badly but he also suspects more is up with her and wavers on whether to take this on. When he finally decides to do it, I really felt like he shocked Quinn. In the sense, that Josh was such a nice guy and so astute in observing her responses to everyday things around her. I loved his protectiveness and also his need to get to the bottom of her request. Quinn was living a half life before she made this move and reached out.
Like I said, these are bite size books so the insta-love came a little fast for me given the subject matter as did the healing but I really loved Josh's kindness and although very non-conventional, I was proud of Quinn for her bravery and refusing to spend her life scared by demons. She refused to be a victim and I dug that.
The ending wrapped a little too fast for me and a little too neat. Real life tells us it would never go down that way. But this is fiction and romance, so for what it's worth, I was happy to see someone finally get what was coming to them!
Enjoyed it but it didn't quite hook me. So 3.5*** kinky little stars!

Everything about this feels dangerous. And exhilarating. I am in control.
I loveeeee this little series of kinky quickies. This one was especially good IMO. It was steamy and hot while going for a particularly taboo kink, but it still had some deep meaningful and sweet moments. Everyone heals differently and Quinn heals and deals with always having fantasies that sort of deal with a trauma she went through. Joshua is the man who she allows to help her with what she needs.
It’s just a good story in my opinion. Maybe the best so far in this series. It’s over the top. It’s steamy. It’s quick, and it’s GOOD. So read it!

While in college, Quinn Washington experienced a traumatic event. About a decade later, she is successful in her career, but she has been hiding in her private life due certain triggers. Ready to take a big step to moving forward, Quinn hires Joshua Tuck, a sex club proprietor, to fulfill her dark fantasies in hopes of liberating her fears.
“Beneath the surface, she is fire, strength, resilience and desperation. Desperate to sate a need within her.”
Told in dual POV, the plot cadence is fairly quick-paced with Quinn determined to finalize the contract with Joshua and begin their play time. Always level headed and cautious with her choices, she is completely ready to take the risks. Not a stranger to kinky or unusual requests, Joshua is curious about Quinn and wants to ensure her limits are observed.
“You are such a filthy little cum slut. You want me to drown you in it.”
What I liked about this story is how Quinn is a survivor. Given the situation, she tried to handle it the best she could and now she is taking full ownership of it. Due to the nature of Quinn’s consensual non-consensual play, it appeals to Joshua’s kinky soul leading to filthy hot scenes. While these kinky collection reads are meant to be quickies, this story felt a little rushed considering the character arc for Quinn, but I still enjoyed and rooted for her all the way.
Play Me is a dark and steamy romance that offers plenty of dirtiness with themes of healing and strength.

Just finished it! Ker Dukey & K Webster did it again 😍 I loved this one just as much as the others by them
This was a short and fast read. It had some trigger elements in it. And the sex scenes were off the charts
He pulls down a gravel-paved road bordered by trees, making my worry intensify. Nowhere near the police station. Where the hell is he taking me? The car rolls to a stop, and he once again looks at me via the mirror. “You’re drunk and disorderly. You tried to damage my car.”
What?
I gape at him.
He gets out of the car and pulls my door open, grabbing my arm to help me out. His grip is firm and painful, making me whimper. I’ve had dreams of this sort of thing, but in my mind, I’m still in control and it’s safe. This is wrong. Something bad is going to happen. I feel it in my soul.
I stand, numb, watching the headlights fade. Only once the pitch-black night swallows the car do I let a scream rip through the silence, echoing my trauma to the moon, the only witness to my horror.
One second, I’m reaching for the door, and the next, I’m pinned to it with an elbow to my throat.
What. The. Fuck.
Green eyes flared with fury burn into me. “What were you doing?”
“Opening the door for you.”
She still doesn’t release her hold.
“You’re not as afraid as you think you are,” I whisper, then snag her by the throat and whip her around, pinning her to the door.

Another super insta hot story in the KKinky collection.
The blurb says this is the perfect reading for a lunch break, considering I’m a teacher and my break room is full of old catholic holier than thou vanilla style colleagues I couldn’t risk to be frowned upon and dismissed for indulging in naughty books... so I made it to be my day off lunch reading and oh my what a treat it was, fulfilling followed by a good quality espresso and chocolate 🥰

wow this was real steamy yet emotional at the same time! although it being a novella, i felt that the storyline was good enough and not lacking. the sex scenes were scorching hot but this really comes with a trigger warning. this was my first book of such kink/fantasy and i actually like it more than i should lol. i love both characters and is a 4 star read for me!

But she is tired of it and takes matters into her own hand, making her lifelong fantasies come true and hires Joshua Tuck, best friend of brothers Ren & Ronan Hayes, to help her achieve them.
Joshua Tuck, Owner of sex club Hush and the brother of Quinn's fellow college graduate, sees through her immediately upon meeting her. But, she stirs something in him and he decides he will be the one to help her if it’s not me, it’ll be someone else. A person who will take advantage of her.
During the time Joshua & Quinn spend together, fulfilling her fantasies, they fall hard for each other. Slowly, but assuredly, Joshua frees her from the shadows and Quinn regains her fire and confidence. And also manages to get her closure from her past.
This short story was engaging from the beginning, and I think it stands out from the other books in KKinky Reads collection. While I do not have respect for (smart, educated) women who take the blame for heinous acts committed towards them, this story had a bit more to it than only hot sex.

***5 ‘Then I’ll Turn The Lights On’ Stars***
And we have another great addition to the Kkinky reads family!
Play Me was all kinds of HAWT! That I expected, but boy that beginning...that I didn’t expect. That was intense, but definitely laid the groundwork for what was a quick, but amazing read.
Joshua is all kinds of alpha AF male. Dominant, protective and compassionate. Quinn is sweet, sassy and strong and their journey gave them both everything they never knew they wanted.
For a quickie, this one packed a punch. It isn’t dark, but issues are brought up that could be triggers for some, but I did like how it was all handled and where things were left in the end. And it was fun to catch up with a bunch of the couples from the previous books and seeing where life has taken them thus far.

No one does
crazy dark and kinky
quite like these two ladies. I love it when they come together to give us a story because I know I’m going to get a well thought out plot with plenty of

!! This story was different for me. Where I normally get caught up in the sexual part of their stories, with Play Me, I was totally focused on Quinn and her growth. It’s what drove the story and it was perfect. It’s a dark side to life and even tho it was a short novella; it was dealt respectfully and with just enough depth to make it realistic and relatable. I enjoy this

I rarely ever read either of these authors. They require an acquired taste and most of the time they're just not on my menu - so to speak. However, occasionally one of them will write something that catches my interest so I'll give them a try.
I'm glad that this one caught my eye. The heroine was strong in the respect that she moved on with her life and didn't let the attack make her into a celibate block of ice. No, it wasn't specifically stated that she had other partners but my money is on that she did as she didn't act like a blushing virgin, she knew what she liked, and she was comfortable with sex. She just needed the Hero's help getting over the situation she was put in during the attack. Also...she likes some kink. She also became a successful business owner...again, showing that she was strong.
The Hero was obviously well versed in sex as he owned a sex club and she went to him for her kink. Fortunately, we never encountered any of his past partners and we never experienced him with anyone else. He had it bad for the heroine from first meeting her. I felt like the characters were evenly matched so even though he owned a sex club I didn't get the sense of superiority from him. He never made her feel less than in any way.....
This is a novella but I would have loved for it to be a full length book. I liked all the characters and would love to know more about them. My only draw back is that I wish the climax would have happened earlier than the very last chapter.

I love Ker and K's Kinky series! Each one of them is different and this one is no different. Play Me brings a different fantasy to life but with a twist. I have never had what happened to Quinn happen to me, so I can not and would never judge someone for how they deal with it. But I find what this story is about to be honorable, and how Quinn does deal with her past courageous.
And Joshua, every woman should have one of them. Joshua is willing to help her, of course, it is just a business transaction at first. But while these two are finding each other and getting into a real relationship Joshua doesn't take over her healing. He listens and helps. I loved that.
This is a great story and I loved all the characters!

Now that thats out of the way this book was really really good it was emotional and had a kink that is very well taboo..and i loved every single moment!!! I didn't find it to dark maybe a medium dark..
Quinn had something bad happen to her and she couldn't say anything because the person who did it to her told her no one would believe her since he was a cop.. keeping this secret and going to therapy is hard but she doesn't want to be a victim anymore.. so she emails Joshua the owner of Hush, telling him what fantasy she wants. Joshua does have doubts since the fantasy is a extreme one that is taboo.. and when he meets Quiin he is already smitten and knows something huants her so he is taking on the fantasy but he is doing it with caution. Quinns in charge she makes the rules he is going by her pace. And it isn't easy she says her safe word few times as they grow together and learn to trust and help Quinn get back the control she lost.
But it seems the past is back to try to bite her in the ass... now she has someone in her corner to help her.

After reading this dedication, I knew I was gonna like it. I can relate to Quinn so much! This was hard to read but also very comforting. Although there were some sexual slurs I didn’t like, overall I enjoyed the book.

Scary hot! We all know those taboo kinks that are talked about in hush voices. Play Me is a steamy novella that starts off in a sex club and ends up against the wall, in your dark house and on the kitchen counter. Quinn has experienced some trauma in the past but with sex club owner, Joshua, she can discover a consensual way to explore her secret dark side. I love Joshua and his desire to fulfill fantasies...especially Quinn's. The way he navigates what she needs but also keeps her feeling in control is pretty hot. I can't stop devouring this series one tantalizing bite at a time.

I loved it!
This was a great story about a woman claiming back her sexuality. Her path isn’t for everyone but it’s HER path and I love that the authors gave her that option. Not everyone heals the same. Oh & Joshua is DELICIOUS
