Hunter Walls I would say this book is appropriate for 15 and up.

Helen I would say this book is just right for someone of that age, but it depends on the individual, obviously. At your age, I would have enjoyed this story and its realistic (and relatively mature) treatment of a developing teen romance. When I was 10, most of my classmates and I were devouring Christopher Pike's pulpy thriller books one by one, and those books contain casual sex with strangers as well as dangerous/glamorized drug use. This book, Alex Approximately, is mature, authentic about such situations, and vague enough -- I think Bailey and her friends are decent role models.

Beth While the book isn't explicit in any way, it does reference masturbation in vague terms and sex a little more obviously. It also has a character with drug problems, but we only hear about it instead of seeing it. 12-13 might be a little young for a book like this, but it would depend on the conversations willing to be had around it.

Monique Bolden It honestly depends on how mature you are. If you're really mature when your 12 then go ahead and read it, but if you're like the students in my grade (11th and they're really immature) then you should probably wait a while.

kimber I read this book around that age and I thought it was perfectly fine. It honestly depends on how mature you are. It has what other YA books usually have - mentions of s3x, drugs, etc. There is one "spicy" scene but it isn't described entirely. Again, it depends on how mature you are. If you aren't used to reading about that stuff, I wouldn't recommend this one for you.

Becca da Romance Queen Obviously yes, I dont mean to sound like a snob. But anyway I FREAKIN READ THIS BOOK AS A 13 year old. It is a great book, I think that you will enjoy. I agree w/ Helen, when I was 10 I was already on my tippy toes looking for more great YA Romance books to read and yet I've come so far. So yes the answer is, as long as you're mature about touching, kissing, and a little bit of sex, I mean I'm pretty sure we are all mature about that. :)
