I've only read Suspicious Minds so far, but I don't think you have to since they're in different segments of time. They just touch on different characters - Suspicious Minds for Terry Ives (pre Jane) and Dr. Brenner & Kali (Number 008). Whereas, Darkness of the Edge of Town all about Hopper who already has El at this point.
