This answer contains spoilers… (view spoiler)[I come like 2 years late but I only recently discovered the demon cycle, and just now finished the 4th book. And, as you can understand, I desperately need to talk about it. So, thing is Roger's death was too abrupt, this left with equal chances of him being a rotting corpse as well as still alive.
1. Through the death of Thamos we get to understand that Petey doesn't really care if you like a character or not, if it has to die it will, and in a bad way, even an important character. So it is actually possible that Roger's death was just that, and f**k to us all. Amanvah also confirms Roger's death while casting her dice, they wouldn't have worked if she lied to them. Also, she did all she could to cure Roger, but he has been suffocated by his own blood, and don't know if hora can do anything about that.
2. It is also true though that even if Thamos was a relevant character he was never dedicated POV. I mean, even Abban survived, and he was facing effin savage Hasik. So I would say Roger too must survive. In the chapter it is said that Amanvah used all her demon bones, though she still could have used her dices or Roger's chinrest to draw upon (and she probably has). I would also expect her and Sikvah to become raging superbeasts devastating Angiers all by themselves, which they didn't, they actually seem pretty calm. Sikvah was going to kill Janson, according to amanvah's casting, in the lavatory, but Janson was found dead on his commode, so Amanvah's prediction may also be fake. Leesha sees Roger's body, but who better than him could fake his death? (Leesha's spectacles though mine this theory..) But one last thing I would say, is that during the siege I was just waiting for Roger to charm an army of corelings to reap the krasian army, such an immense power can't die just like that lol
In the end, we just need to wait 3 more days to unravel the truth, but again, in Italy these book were never translated so I'm reading them in English and have no one to speak about them (hide spoiler)]

Petia Vladimirova I don't agree. You still cherish the one you lost, that's why people have that ritual of funeral for the peope they lost, treating them with love and respect.

It was really unrealistic how suddenly demon bones gave space powers to crasians. Like flying, using jewelery for listening others, passing through small places... It's one thing to use them for healing, and another to make light or even physical objects.
this book sucks in so many ways. I am not reading the next one. Plus I expected more of Arlen and Rena, we read about krasians two books already. I am deeply dissapointed.
