Do you have to read Hollow City and Library of Souls before you can read this? Because I've only read Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children so far.

Shelley No, not at all. This is a collection of short stories and while it helps to have the context of peculiar folklore, this book is entirely outside the storyline of the series (just some familiar characters)
themarvelousblobfish This essentially is the book the children read in the series about all the Peculiars that came before them, so same universe, but outside of the initial Peculiar Children storyline, so yes you should be fine!
Michelle I have not read any of the other books but read this and it wasn't a problem. The only concept that maybe was strange was "ymbryne" but with all the stuff in the media because of the movie, I had no problem with undestand it.
READ IT, because is great!
Mairead The only thing from the series is Millard and the peculiarities
