I thought The Virgin Suicides was a work of pure genius. I found it to be a critique of alienation due to gender roles, sexism, and capitalism - among other things. The subtext and symbolism is laid out with mastery and incredible depth. This is one of the most dense books I have read in quite a while. I would love to teach this class at university. We could easily spend 6 weeks unpacking it. Agree?

I definitely agree I could spend so long talking about every thing in this book practically the whole thing is highlighted or marked somehow!
