I kind of feel the author is doing a checklist of all the marginalized people she's putting into her books as the story flows in arcs.

Did I mention how I really hate that this book has women that hurt the protagonist and she has to go running back to men? Cuz I hate that. I also hate that she has to have a rape backstory to make her strong or something.
Anyways, we are back to Pathka.

This feels less like Tess' adventure and more like Pathka's.

I've kind of forgotten where in the past I am with Tess, but I think it's talking about her pregnancy. Kinda whish we'd cut some of the pieces out and "gotten on with it", but lore peeps will love this.

I really don't like that Tess slut shames her sister I think even she says it was a low blow, but she seems not like the type to put any store into St. Vitt.

Also don't like that Tess wants to be a man because women can't adventure and are horrible misogynist rapists than just.. because she feels it more like her. :/

So the book irons out some of the St. Vitts stuff by calling it out. I'm not certain I like the whole idea that Tess was technically raped and then got pregnant from that. I feel it's one of those "female character has to have some kind of trauma happen to her" though If I remember Seraphina didn't have that happen so I am trusting the author?

:/ don't like how they keep harping on Tess's "Pureness" and how she's supposed to stay that.
