In One to Save the sexy Marine Derek Alexander & his fiancé Melissa Jones are living in a cottage on the beach in Wilmington with their almost one year old son Dex. Derek is still working with the Knight brothers at Alexander-Knight & Melissa is running a successful marketing business. They are busy planning their wedding & still very much in love. One of my favorite things about this couple is how this huge, delicious, sweet man loves this woman. It's intense, all consuming & just beautiful!
An added bonus while reading this fabulous book is my name is Melissa! ;)) I love you too Big Guy!
Even though they are about to have the life together they've always dreamed of, Melissa senses something is bothering Derek. She knows how much he loves her, but feels like there's something he's keeping from her. Turns out Derek has a secret he thought was buried, but it's in jeopardy of being revealed. If this secret comes out he could lose his future & everyone he loves.
-Melissa...my soul cries her name. I want her. I need her.
-I can't imagine me without you.
-You're my light.
We get some angst, but this close group of friends really sticks together & fights for the ones they love. I loved how they are all like one big family & are there for each other. Tia Louise has become a go-to author for me. I know when I read one of her books it will be a fabulous, sexy story that sucks me in from the beginning. I really like how all the couples show up in the different books & are part of the story. After that epilogue at the end with Marcus & Amy, I am absolutely DYING for One to Chase! OMG, I can't wait!!! They were so damn hot together!!! :D

4 A Final Coming Together Stars

Loving someone, protecting them, and making sure nothing will ever hurt them...That may be the goal but what if all these ways of treating the person you love make them feel like you are withholding and not being truthful...like you are not thinking of them as an equal...What do you do then...
That is the crux of the first part of this final chapter in Derek and Melissa's happy ever after.
In order to truly appreciate these two and all of the other characters, it is essential to read One to Hold, One to Protect.
In these past books, we saw how two people came together, found each other and themselves through a powerful love, and fought to hold on to it.
The last time we were with them... they were finally preparing for the wedding they had to postpone. Their relationship had brought them a beautiful baby boy and all the pieces were falling together except Melissa did not know of the biggest secret Derek was keeping from her. This was causing a divide between them and for him to question everything he thinks about himself...
He must come clean to his woman and handle whatever the outcome, but as Derek is gearing up to come clean to Melissa, others reveal they know the secrets, too and the information is damaging.
Melissa's past history with marriage and relationships was corrupt, any withholding or secrets hit her full blast. She has no way to gauge what the circumstances are... all she feels is she has made another mistake in judgment as she did with her first husband, the one who pretended all sweetness and class only to abuse her. She will not do that again and now she has little Dex to think about.
Derek is beside himself. Melissa brought him back to the living. She is everything and he cannot think of not being with her. His security, Marine enforcement training, has conditioned him to hold information close to the vest until all the solutions have been figured out...not to share while in the moment. He realizes his mistakes and is ready to do whatever is necessary to ease Melissa's state of mind...
This last piece of the Melissa/Derek puzzle was a plot within a plot. We experienced it all and it fell together perfectly. They are a passionate couple; they feel things strongly and share with their bodies and heart.
As I said earlier, all of the characters were there so we were able to see closings of couples and also a taste of the new one happening in the next Tia Louise series. It looks to be sassy and cool. Chicago... here I come.
Well, Since writing this review, Ms. Louise has kept me busy. Here is the entire series and it is so worth your time, enjoy!

One To Save is the continuation of Derek and Melissa's story that we originally met in One to Hold. If you haven't read that book yet, I'd really encourage you to do so along with One to Protect. You just wouldn't have the same appreciation or understanding for these characters without having their entire back story. The author does bring the reader up to date about everything that happened with them without having it be redundant, but I'd still recommend reading it in order. Actually, I'd recommend reading the entire series in order because there is a story ARC between all the characters that continues throughout the series. While each book is technically a standalone, you would enjoy the stories so much more having read them in order. The characters from previous books always make an appearance, and it would help you to truly understand each individual character so much more. Slayde from One to Love makes an appearance here, and trust me when I tell you that you would have a much better understanding of what happens in this book having read his book, as well as Stuart from One to Leave. Read the series in order is basically what you should be taking away from this ;)
Derek is dealing with the fallout of a decision he made in protecting Melissa, his now fiance. Although he'd do it all over again if he had to, it still doesn't stop him from thinking about the repercussions. Keeping it from her is also a decision that he is agonizing over.
Their relationship wasn't one built on sunshine and promises. They first met when he was hired by Melissa's abusive husband hired him to follow her. But when he learned the full truth of her story, things changed. They've been through their share of trouble and have come out of it stronger. But this just may be the one secret that may shatter everything that they are once and for all.
It's not just the repercussions from the event that threaten Derek. There is also someone that is determined to make him pay and take away everything that he holds dear.
This was a definite page turner of a book. I'm not typically a fan of reading about the same couple for longer than two books simply because the drama begins to feel manufactured. That was not the case here at all. This really was a very natural progression of events. Considering everything that has already happened, you can see that it was all coming to a head. Sure it packs a good punch of angst and emotion, but it fit their story. You can see why it happened the way it did and why they needed this book to really bring closure to their relationship.
Derek is everything I love about my alphas; fiercely protective, dirty talking, loving but with that added edge. I loved him. Melissa is the perfect counterpart to his rough edges. I really enjoyed seeing them go through their ups and downs, and especially their ups.
You get a lot more on the fallout of Stuart and Nikki's story here. As much as I hated Nikki in Stuart's book, I have to say she really grew on me here. Tia definitely has me intrigued enough to really want a book for her. Though I can't say I'm too disappointed about the upcoming book's characters. That epilogue was smokin' hawt. Tia definitely knows how to hook you in with the way her books end. While she gives you the perfect HEA for the couple, she reels you right in with a hell of a tease for the next one. A fantastic new edition to the series. I cannot freaking wait for the next one!

4.5 what a ride stars
I'm going to keep this short and sweet, because I loved going in blind, not really knowing what to expect. Derek and Melissa always had it rough and they so desperately deserve their HEA. So I kept my fingers crossed and hoped for the best as I jumped into their story.
One to Save drives home the issue that not everything is as perfect or as happy as it seems. Those secrets you wish to forget, come back to haunt you, daring you to try and forget, threatening to destroy the happy home you deserve.
What a tangled web we weep, in this non-stop tale, everyone from the One to Hold series plays a role in saving those who were thought to be invincible. With plenty of twists and turns along the way, making you want to finish it in one go. Focusing on forgiveness, humility, honor and love.
Truly a wonderful read, full of unexpected surprises and undeniable passion, with a "what next" mentality. There was no guessing how it would all play out, the question constantly tested, is love really enough. I thoroughly enjoyed it and recommend it to all my friends. This multi POV read is considered a standalone, but I personally would start from the beginning because they are awesome and totally worth it. Derek and Melissa are the ones who started it all, but thankful they are not the last. I'm just waiting to see how the hotshot attorney gets knocked off his ass.

4 - So much has happened to get us here. Stars!
Derek, Melissa and the whole Knight Alexander family have been a part of my reading life for quite a while now. I love these books, the people contained in them and their stories, they are all interweaved into one memorable and unforgettable web.
"It's only the beginning."
Tia Louise knows how to tell a story, and she knows how to do it well One to Save is no exception, and once again I was taken on an emotional rollercoaster for pretty much the whole of the book. We pick up shortly after where One to Leave finished, Stuart Knight is back working alongside Derek and Patrick at Knight Alexander and everything seems to be on the up. Except we all know that Derek has been keeping a secret from Melissa, and it could potentially be a deal breaker.
I survived and now I am strong.
This book like all of it's predecessors really pulls you in, as the reader you know what is going on in both Derek and Melissa’s heads, what you don’t know is how either of them will react once all the cards have been laid on the table, Melissa in particular, her past dictates that nothing but honesty exists between her and Derek in order for them to have a future together, and whilst planning their wedding more than a few secrets are unearthed. Derek in his attempts to protect Melissa from the harsh realities of some of the things he has done in his past is potentially putting more strain on their relationship, than telling actually telling Melissa the truth would do.
I had ideas in my head as to the direction that Tia would take Derek and Melissa’s story in this installment in the series, as always and as expected, it was nothing like I guessed, again she delivered more, the twists and turns in the story are plentiful and the cast many. This is why the series works, because Tia has taken the time to build and develop such a diverse and colorful set of people, that you are happy to spend time whether it be a few paragraphs or a few chapters with each and every one of them.
All I lost was my heart.
Stunning, Sexy, Surprising and as always One to Save is a totally Stunning read.
One to Chase ~ Amy Knight and Marcus Merritt’s story is due in June 2015, new characters, a new story and a new direction. I cannot wait!

I fell in love with the writing of Tia Louise just 20 pages into One to Hold. It is where I met the amazingly sexy Derek Alexander and the sweet broken woman who would own his soul, Melissa Jones. Both characters were running and it only took one night to find a forever haven. While their journey was not easy or pretty, they seemed to have found a real chance towards a fairy tale forever.
For those who may not know, Melissa is a survivor of abuse at the hands of her ex-husband. A powerful man whose proclivities were rough and raunchy. His torment of Melissa continued into her life after the divorce only to be ended, permanently, by her new love Derek.
While she is breathing easy, he is consumed with the guilt of not telling her the whole truth of the situation. Melissa and Derek are so connected on every level that she can feel the tension he is carrying. Melissa cannot stand being in the dark and she warns him to always be honest...always communicate. She vows to never have a life of lies and to have a partner who values her as an equal...it is not easy when one look at Derek has her lost in a haze of love and lust!
Perhaps it is Derek's need for Melissa that is too much because he cannot bring himself to tell her about the darkness that is surrounding them thus finding himself on the receiving end of her ire! ONE TO SAVE was a beautiful, touching and suspenseful read that took my heart. Tia Louise reminded me once again why Derek and Melissa will always have a special place in my heart especially when I first fell in love with them in One to Hold. Derek and Melissa's journey as a couple is a true testament of how strong their love withstood everything that was in their way. Their relationship was built on the most important foundation: LOVE. And with that, they constantly showed us that LOVE can endure, heal, save, and set free of painful memories of the past. With their upcoming wedding approaching, Derek and Melissa will face a BIG battle that could destroyed their happy bubble. When secrets, lies, and deception are exposed, will their love be strong enough to save?
One to Save... what can I say but what a fitting title for this book because readers will see how far Derek and Melissa will go to SAVE their relationship. This book was an emotional and suspenseful journey that had me on the edge of my seat and nervous as to what was to come for this beloved couple. They say LOVE HEALS and Derek's love for Melissa, healed and erased all the pain and hurt. But before they could truly move onto the next stage of their relationship, Derek must finally tell Melissa the truth. The truth that he killed Melissa's ex-husband. When Melissa uncovers the truth on her own, she is hurt that Derek kept this secret from her. She is not upset that he killed for her but she feels betrayed that Derek couldn't tell her the TRUTH. Melissa was able to forgive Derek and she makes him promise that there will be no more secrets between them. But what Derek fails to mention to her that he has one more secret to tell her, but before he could tell her, Melissa had enough of the lies and secrecy. And soon this couple found themselves at a breaking point. Can Melissa and Derek find their way back to each other and save their love?
This book absolutely gutted and pulled me. My heart broke for these two because of the emotional roller-coaster that Derek and Melissa put me through. This book left me feeling so raw and vulnerable that I felt their pain, love, anger and hurt. What I love about this book was that Tia allowed her readers to see both sides of their story and also we were treated to Stuart's POV. Tia didn't sugarcoat anything and she made you FEEL every emotion. The writing and storytelling was spellbinding. I read this book in one siting because this book was more than a romance book but it was also a suspenseful read. All the major characters were integrated into the story line and so you were given the big PICTURE of how everything and everyone was weaved into the book. One To Save is truly a journey of LOVE and I love that Tia was able to shatter our heart but slowly she was able to mend it. Derek and Melissa's love for each other is a testament of what it means to be HOME. They found comfort, love, and healing within each other. I love that we were able to watch this couple grow and blossom. Thank you Tia for giving us the HEA ending for Derek and Melissa. Thank you for the journey. Thank you for showing us a couple who found light in the darkness. And a big thank you for bringing Derek, Melissa, Patrick, Elaine, Stuart, Mariska, Kenny, and Slade into our lives. I'm so very far behind on reviewing this book, but I still wanted to say a few words about one of my favorite couples ever.
I fell in love with Derek and Melissa back when they started their uber sexy, hot and heavy relationship with a steamy look across a bartop. I was blown away with how much I loved Tia Louise's style. She writes characters that speak to me. There is the perfect amount of angst and drama and sexy to round out the romance. There aren't pages and pages of made-up arguments and in your face conflict. Her characters are real, their friendships and loves and jobs and situations pull me in and make me live them.
In this second part of the Derek and Melissa story, what stood out for me was how a couple that seemed so perfect together could still have major problems down the road. With the tumultuous start that these two had initially, things were bound to come to a head eventually. But I'd never have foreseen THIS happening. Derek's protective actions to keep Melissa safe have turned around to bite him on the ass. And the way he kept it secret from the one person in the world he needs to be honest with was poorly done. But I couldn't blame the guy. He's straight up good people, and he loves his woman and he loves his son, and he'd do anything to protect them. I was kind of frustrated with Melissa at times, because I felt like she was being so overly emotional that she was no longer being reasonable...which is exactly what happened, but it was hard to watch. We women aren't exactly great at thinking when our emotions run that high.
I always end up loving these "After the happy ever after" books. They bring some realism to a relationship initially built on attraction and chemistry. And especially with this couple, who will forever be on my favorites shelf, it was a wonderful way to give readers some closure when it comes to them. They really earned that HEA in this book!

Derek and Melissa endured a lot throughout their relationship, and they still do. both having an ugly past which is connected by one guy, who ruined Melissa and gave hope to Derek. but, of course, nothing comes easy, sometimes a person make mistakes just to protect the one they love in anyway possible.
This book is about trust. it shows us no matter how deep is the lie, secret

This book is just amazin what a rollercoaster of emotions
I 've luvd Derek an Melissa since the first book an grow more in luv with them in each book even if they were only in the book 4 a few mins there just great characters when I found out we were gettin more of them I was so excited but when I found out what was goin 2 happen I m not goin 2 lie I was panicking
This story had me al over the place in a really good way I had a lump in my throat 4 maybe half of it the there's these 2 will do 2 protect each is just crazy but then Derek starts hidin things Melissa can't take it she as had enough secrets in her life an Derek knows this so she doesn't understand why he's doin it I understand why he is but it's still seems 2 annoy me 2 but I was shocked with what she did I m sorry if using think I writing in code but I really don't want 2 wreck the story cause this book an series is really good one thing I will say is that there still hot 2gether may be even hotter if that can b there so good 2gether

I really need to catch up on this series. Derek is one hell of a sexy Alpha and I fell in love with him in the first installment, One to Hold. One to Save gives a glimpse into the continuing story of Melissa and Derek’s passionate romance. Tia Louise did not disappoint in laying out a storyline filled with steam, mysteries and angst.
I just go weak in the knees and all swoony when a hero goes above and beyond the pale to protect his woman. Derek is my kind of knight in shining armor. Sexy, domineering and possessive, nothing will stop him when it comes to Melissa’s wellbeing. He would move heaven and hell to assure no harm comes her way. Derek stands in the line of fire to eliminate all threats at all costs…to the point of sacrificing himself for her and their child. Guarding her from danger, Derek manages to wound her heart by keeping secrets. Information that he holds near to shield Melissa has affected their relationship. Not disclosing certain information creates a rift between this couple, endangering a happy future together.
I can’t fault Melissa for being upset with Derek’s intention to keep her in the dark regarding what lengthens he went through to protect her. But sometimes given his business, certain actions are necessary. Melissa has a tendency of taking things to an extreme and causing excessive drama. She’s stubborn and unreasonable in creating more hurdles for this pair to overcome, hurting Derek needlessly in my opinion. However Derek remains strong. The intensity of his love for Melissa is heartwarming. He is true and dedicated. That’s what I admire about his character aside from all his sexiness - his overwhelming commitment to shield his lover and family, especially given Melissa’s background.
I enjoyed catching up with this sexy couple. Derek, as usual, was alluring and charming. One to Save was a quick enticing read jam packed with hot sex, drama and suspense. I can always count on Tia for a deliciously spicy tale.

GOT MY ARC!! CLIMBING INTO BED WITH DEREK & MEL!!!
Of all of the book boyfriends out there, you know that one that just shines head and shoulders above all of the rest for you? The one that is just the embodiment of the perfect man…yeah, for me that is Derek Alexander!! So to say I get a little excited when my amazing girl Miss Tia writesme us a new story about him is a GROSS UNDERSTATEMENT!! In case I wasn’t clear I LOVE DEREK ALEXANDER, in all his big, dark, dangerously sexy glory!
Ok, enough of my slobbering over Derek because truth be told if any other woman besides me should get to have him I am so happy it’s Melissa! I adore Mel almost as much as Derek and they are the hottest, most adorable couple. Now without giving anything away, you know, because I was lucky enough to get to read this before it is released, I will tell you my favorite couple has to navigate some pretty significant hurdles in this installment of their story. Yes, my perfect Derek fucks up quite royally, a couple times actually, but after some suffering on both their parts, we can breathe a sigh of relief, it will all work out, I promise :). We also get to meet a couple new characters and I can’t wait for their story. As well as spend some time with all of our old friends from the previous stories.
I will admit I spent some time in tears, which I seem to do in every one of Miss Tia’s books! But have no fear, I assure you a HEA . Which is what I kept telling myself as I was ugly crying a bit lying in bed last night as I devoured this book.

Do you love great stories with sexy alpha men who ADORE their women? Then you MUST read the ONE TO KEEP series by Tia Louise. What's fun about her books is that each is a standalone, but all in the same world with the same GREAT group of characters.
ONE TO SAVE, is a great addition to this series. I adore Mel and Derek. This story had me happy and sad. I love all the characters and will continue to read this world as long as Tia Louise writes them!

I was so happy to read more of Derek and Melissa, even though this book has been out since 2015 I just noticed it now, but enough of that 😂.
Where do I start. Yes, I love their chemistry I love how Derek is a total babe oh wait he’s the alpha male that makes you swoon melt and oh boy flush 😉 Melissa is just as awesome and they both clicked. I love the story the pace of it, their sexy scenes that’s toe curling their baby Dex and I definitely do love the secondary characters that are there bffs that makes up their family which gives you a warm and sometimes annoying feelings and you’ll never get tired of the drama.
Why I gave the half is cause I didn’t like how Derek kept secrets and yes I do agree with Melissa he should have been opened and honest. What I also don’t like is having third wheelers (Star gosh I can’t stand her) that think she can try to manipulate (well try to look like Melissa) a man and wanting his help ummm hello!!!! he’s an engaged man. Those are my pet peeves in books 🤷🏽♀️ but one thing I do know is that I’ll never tire and I wished that more could have been shown/written of Derek and Melissa in the epilogue, hey that’s just me.

Once again this series takes a detour and comes back to present us with the look behind the scenes of Knight and Alexander's dealings.
More than ever, we get the whole picture with happy endings for some and justice for others.
'One to Save' is inadvertently a testament of the power of lies and omissions as well as jealousy and hostility. With Derek and Melisa being the focal point again.

ONE TO SAVE was a sizzling, suspenseful romance that took me to another place. I completely lost myself in this book! Derek and Melissa are characters that stuck with me from the beginning and embedded themselves in my heart. I felt the complete and undeniable love they they feel towards each other, and I felt the utter gut wrenching heartache that they went through in this book. I absolutely LOVE each installment of the ONE TO HOLD series, but this book, this incredible book, left me a blubbering mess and pulled emotions out of me left and right. Tia Louise is a genius at setting the scene, giving her readers a vivid, beautiful depiction of all that is going on, transporting us to this lovely world with ease. Tia Louise fans will fall in love with the latest ONE TO HOLD novel!

My favorite series along with my favorite couple are back. Just when I thought they were going to live their HEA, another hurdle came along their way.
What is a relationship without trust? With secrets? Can a couple who have survived almost everything can they survive lies and deception? Their relationship is tested, exactly how strong their foundation is before it breaks?
They’re my favorite couple, and seeing them fall apart simply breaks my heart. It may seem petty, but I understand where Melissa is coming from. It’s a hard decision for her to make, especially when her heart was clearly not happy with the decision.
When I can finally see the light in all these, a secret came to surface that had Derek lose everything he have worked for and loved. Good thing he had wonderful friends who are willing to do everything for him. Together, they put on all their efforts and resources to #SaveDerek. They have such amazing friendship, and this book just show how much strong their bond is.
What I love about this series is the fact the thrill that is palpating through the pages, the twists that you wouldn’t see coming, the romance and most of all, those sizzling scenes that can lit your kindles on fire. Not to mention, Tia Louise made sure she leaves some sparks as she gives us a glimpse that intense chemistry between Amy and Marcus.

4.5 star Review One to Save (One to Hold Book 6) by Tia Louise
One to Save is book 6 in the One to Hold series by the supremely talented Tia Louise. In this book we re-visit Derek and Melissa who started off the series in One to Hold and then One to Protect.
There were times in this book where I wanted to laugh, cry, scream, jump up and down, yell, not to mention smack both Derek and Melissa. Their past comes back to haunt them with a vengeance. Derek believes that keeping his actions a secret is the way to protect and save Melissa. He couldn’t be more wrong. It almost costs him the one thing he loves the most in the world, his family.
What no one, including Derek counts on is Melissa’s overwhelming love; add to that the rest of the Alexander and Knight extended families. They converge to help save Derek and in turn contribute to save Melissa and Derek’s relationship.
Derek and Melissa were fated to be together from the very beginning. I love this couple. Simply put the love they have for each other is soul deep. I am in love with Derek Alexander. He is what I think of when I hear the term Alpha male.
Although the books can be read as stand-alone I highly recommend that you read at the very least the two that I have mentioned. Although truthfully, each and every book is a MUST read in my humble opinion and I believe it is a benefit if you read them in order.
I am always saddened when I come to the end of Tia Louise’s novels, but I am eagerly anticipating the next in the series Once to Chance.

I fell in love with Derek and Melissa's story in One To Hold the first book in the series. I have enjoyed following them through each book even though they weren't the featured couple in the other books, until One To Save. Derek and Melissa's happily ever after takes an unhappy turn, and we are given another glimpse at this couples struggle to make it all work. The question is will love be enough to get them through? They are undoubtedly my favorite couple of the series and their delicate circumstances of how they met and fell in love is achingly beautiful to read about. I was excited to see their story continue and also felt like I was given a different and more vulnerable side of them. In all honesty, this couple has had some rough and tough times. In my eyes, they deserve it all happiness, love, a future, and above all else a happily ever after. This book took some unexpected twists and turns, and I loved every single minute of it.
One To Save starts in a very romantic way, a reenactment of Melissa and Derek's intense first encounter. We see that these two are very much in love and committed to one another. Everything is going so well for them, and they are busy planning their much-anticipated wedding. Their son is turning one, and they are in a good place. Suddenly, Derek and Melissa are faced once again with a past that just won't stay there. The secrets and lies of the past are no longer hidden. Melissa will not be a part of a relationship riddled with secrets. If she can't trust Derek, then she will never feel safe and protected. Decisions need to be made, and love will be tested to the brink. In the end, will they both be saved or lost in all the deception?
My heart ached for these two while reading. They are a family, and they both have a lot to lose if their carefully constructed life breaks. I was happy to see their lives with their son. They both were very dedicated and loving parents. Emotions were high during this entire story and all I wanted was for both to be together, forever.
I wasn't sure where the story was going, and the new characters introduced had me intrigued. I was a little worried that this may be the final book to this series, but luckily we are given a glimpse of what is to come in the following book. I liked what I saw and am so ready for the next book. These books have become very special to me. They are all so very different, yet all linked in important ways. It is a wonderful series to get lost in. There are so many issues addressed in the series that we see that love is very powerful. It may even be able to heal the most broken people.
If love is your thing like it is mine, then I recommend you give One To Save an excellent read. Derek and Melissa's story can only be described as good for the soul as well as the heart.

Derek and Melissa are back for more fun…. and heartache!!!
We knew it was coming but boy did it hurt and I must admit to feeling slightly violent towards Melissa for putting Derek through what she did. I mean, didn’t Derek potentially save her from further harm? Didn’t he jeopardise his beliefs for her? Didn’t he dedicate himself 100%.... to her?!!!! Okay, time to calm down and think rationally.
Ok, what do we know so far…. We know Sloan is dead. We know Derek killed him. We know Derek was supported by Star and Patrick. So, who is holding the strings now and threatening Star and Derek? Who could possibly have evidence to implicate them in his murder? Funnily enough, Derek thought his biggest worry was telling Melissa the truth about what happened to Sloan but to find himself possibly facing prison, or worse… that’s a whole different battle.
I have to say it (please don’t shoot me) but I’ve never really been a fan of Melissa and sadly for me, this book didn’t put her in a more favourable light. Her mood swings could quite literally give you whiplash and the story for me was slightly spoiled because of them. Her change of mind about Derek came across too sudden but at least I was able to carry on and enjoy the book, despite witnessing Derek’s fight for freedom… and his life.
All the gang are back for this book and Stuart and Mariska’s story is built upon but more importantly, we get to enjoy Elaine’s brother, Marcus. Now he’s a character I’m looking forward to getting my hands on. The teaser at the end is quite delicious and from the sound of it, he is likely to have his hands full with Amy, Patrick and Stuart’s sister.
Another great instalment from Tia and the loveable gang from One To Hold. This story has lots of twists and turns, heartbreak, suspense, intrigue and most of all Derek. So what’s not to love?

One to Save’s 5 Greats:
1. The still sizzling hot sexy times between the One to Hold series opening couple, Derek and Melissa were fantastic! Author, Tia Louise just keeps topping herself again and again.
2. The genuine love that shines through for their young son, Dex. I’m not much of a kid person so I don’t seek out novels featuring them. But I really liked the moments of parental affection that Derek and especially Melissa had for his toddler antics.
3. The ongoing ensemble nature is one of my favorite aspects of this series. I loved the update on the series’ previous couples especially Stuart and Mariska originally featured in One to Leave (One to Hold #5). I loved, LOVED Chapter 12: Making a Plan which focused on them.
4. I’m a huge romantic suspense fan so I loved the suspense element regarding the secret Derek kept from Melissa and how that storyline evolved and was resolved. The weight room scene in the jail was crazy!
5. That epilogue rocked! I loved getting a preview of the next couple that will be featured in One to Chase (One to Hold #7) out on June 25, 2015. ‘Amy Knight, meet Marcus Merritt’ is the tag line. Their scene was smoking hot and intriguing, and I predict that these two will definitely challenge each other.
Really, One to Save just has a lot to offer any contemporary romance fan – great pacing, fantastic sexual tension, sham-wow-panty sex scenes and an emotionally satisfying arc. I did a lot of commenting on GoodReads and a lot of highlighting on my e-reader, but below is one of many favorite moments:

One to Save is amazing. All the Alexander- Knight characters are well developed and completely easy to love. The men are loving, sexy and total Alpha men. The women are sweet, sassy and will not back down from a fight. I love these characters and this series.
One to Save is fun, exciting with exhilarating moments that are embedded in the story- it starts off hot and steamy continually all the way to the end, adding in suspense, heart ache and heartwarming moments. Tia Louise stays true to her characters while expanding each of them as the stories evolve- keeping it fresh and exciting. One to Save is no exception- with all the original characters, fresh ideas and new character the story will capture your heart and soul.
Derek is still keeping secrets from Mel in order to protect her from all the painful memories that haunt them. Derek wants to tell Mel all his secrets before they get married but struggles to find the right time or way. As the wedding approaches one of the Derek’s dark secrets are revealed which cause Mel to confront the love of her life about all the lies he has told. Derek finally confesses all his secret to Mel- but one. The final secret remains hidden until an unexpected visit to the Alexander- Knight office.
As the last secret has finally been revealed, Mel feels betrayed- refusing to relive her past she has to decide if she is willing to live with a man who continues to hide life altering events from her. Mel is determined that the only relationship she is interesting in saving is one where she is an equal and not treated as a child. Mel realizes all the lies Derek told was to protect her not hurt her.
Derek's time is up when his nemesis seeks revenge making sure Derek pays the ultimate price, an eye for an eye. 4 “What now?” stars!
Just like all the other parts of this series, that I have read, One to Save kept me entertained throughout the entire story. The continuation of Derek and Melissa’s story is not an easy one. They struggle, but ultimately their love will get them through.
“Will she forgive me? Will she understand?”
Derek has a secret and it could end it all for him and Melissa. But I never expected it to go how it did. I expected so much drama, but it was all maturely done, though…if that makes sense. LOL!! There wasn’t a lot of whining and crying and pity party crap that I expected. This was a story of two mature adults doing what is best for their child and their hearts. Neither was wrong in the choices they made, both had good intentions even if it didn’t seem that way.
“I’m sorry. You’re a day late and a promise short.”
Derek struggles more in this part of the story and my heart shattered for him at times. Not that I didn’t hurt for Melissa, also, but you will see what I mean when you read it. I am still a tad confused about some things that have taken place in the series, but other questions were answered for me. I love how each of these books is about a certain couple but the reader still receives so much about the other characters at the same time. The author has done a fantastic job of intertwining the characters into each other’s lives.

So, I have nothing else to say other than this is a good addition to a Book Bitch recommended series, especially for readers who enjoy the long haul with their characters :)

I swear Tia Louise is one of those authors that you just know you have to read her book when it is released. She has a way of drawing you into the story. You feel as those you are part of the story and know the characters as friends. You will feel the happy, sad and passionate moments with them. One to Save was no different. It anything this one brought me to tears a few times.
Derek Alexander has a heart of gold and will do anything to protect the ones he loves but will this cost him? Will Melissa be able to forgive him for keeping this big secret?
Melissa has been in an abusive relationship with her ex. She knows what signs to look for. She refuses to be a victim again. Derek was able to show her the way a relationship should be. But why does she feel as those he is hiding something? Can she continue looking the other way when she has that feeling?
Once the truth is revealed and dealt with between Derek and Melissa, things seem to be going smoothly until Melissa runs into a brick way. What do you do when the one person who has saved you is the one that is hurting you the most with secrets and non truths? You protect yourself even if it leaves you with a broken heart.
Melissa and Derek have a rough journey in this book. The love that they have for each other comes off the pages but sometimes love might not be enough. I cried and my heart broke for them and all they had to endure. But we all do things to protect the ones we love. But we must learn to trust in the truth. This was definitely one of my favorite stories in this series.

Tia does it again! This book is ranked as one of my favorites in the One To Hold series. This book just made me love Derek even more! His love and devotion to Melissa showed no bounds. Like this book and all the others, the hotness does not disappoint and add the suspense and mystery, One To Save will be a book you will not want to put down.
I felt so much more emotion while reading this book, compared to the other books in the series. Maybe because of the history between Derek and Melissa that I read about in One To Protect and I knew everything that Melissa has gone through. I just felt my heart breaking several times not only for Melissa but for Derek as well. Those two went through hell and back in this book but their love prevailed!
Tia has this amazing ability to create a story and have it flow so effortlessly together. Not only did she create a whole new story line but she also incorporated story lines from previous books in the series, and it magically all fit together and I did not feel lost. I loved getting to hear more about Slayde and having chapters from Stuart's POV. It just shows how interconnected these characters are and I love them all! Even though One To Save can be read as a standalone, for maximum enjoyment I would recommend reading all the books in series or at the very least One To Protect.

The One to Hold series has been on my TBR forever and I'm so glad that I was finally able to read one of the them, even if it is the newest one out! I really enjoyed reading One to Save and despite it being the sixth book, Ms. Louise wrote it in a way that doesn't leave you confused about who's who, or about events having to do with Derek and Melissa in the previous books. It's an awesome read and I loved it!
Derek Alexander, what a hot hunk of delicious man he is! He's possessive, devoted, and protective. Although he's kind of turkey in the beginning with how protective he is, he straightens up pretty quick, so I couldn't stay mad at him. Derek's also so determined and it's clear just how much he loves Melissa and that he'll do whatever it takes to make everything all right again that he will melt your heart.
I loved Melissa's character. She's strong, stubborn, and she's not afraid to stand up for herself. I respected her and her decisions. Melissa is an awesome, kicka*s heroine!

One To Save is another 5+stars book in this great series by Tia Louise! This is book number 6 and this series of interconnected characters just keeps getting better and more addictive!
In One To Save we're given more of the great love story of Derek Alexander and Melissa Jones. With their upcoming wedding in view along with their sweet baby boy Dex and their wonderful circle of friends you just know there's nothing to get in the way of this happy couples destiny. But when secrets are being kept destiny will always be in jeopardy and Derek finds this out the hard way. Once the ultimate secret is revealed the strength of Derek and Melissa's relationship and love will be tested in more ways than one.
Also we are given more of all the characters/friends that we have come to love, Patrick/Elaine, Kenny/Slayde, Stewart/Mariska, which creates such a great feeling of family and friendship. If you start reading from the beginning of the series then with each additional book it feels like visiting old friends plus getting to meet new ones, doesn't get any better than that!
I loved One To Save and will be counting down the days for the next release in this favorite series! Thank You Tia Louise for another wonderful book!!
