5 Love and Protect Stars

I fell hard for Derek and Melissa in my first encounter with them in One to Hold. Tia Louise created characters who were not perfect...they were human. Each had their own issues to deal with and once they connected at the core, each helped to make each other stronger in the long run.

We were able to be that fly on the wall, as they worked out new issues and challenges in the next book, One to Protect. True evil came out to play causing Derek to question everything he stood for in his attempt to keep his woman, Melissa safe from harm.

Although in One to Save, we learn of where these two are in their relationship...we never question the love they have for each other. It is proven time and time again.

These two become flesh and blood people to dedicated readers of the series. Tia Louise was smart to keep us involved in the growth of these characters. There are other secondary characters which ended up having their own books but in this lovely grouping... you have everything, Derek and Melissa.

Ms. Louise also threw in a little bonus... a through the looking glass of Derek and Melissa in another form...as shapeshifters...In this book, you have the beginning to see how they translate to that genre.

If you like your men real, smart, and very, very capable and sexy with their women, then this will hit the mark.

Well, Since writing this review, Ms. Louise has kept me busy. Here is the entire series and it is so worth your time, enjoy!

One to Hold ~ 5 Stars!

This is the first book I have ever read by this author and holy smokes! I am hooked, line and sinker. This book was fantastic. It was a fast read full of steam, angst, emotions, love, sexy times, and second chances. This book was brilliantly written and definitely made me a fast fan of this Tia.

This is Melissa and Derek’s story. When these two meet, their worlds collide and the axis tilts. It is lust at first sight. They want each other. But Melissa has secrets and a past weighing her down. Now, they are in for the ride of their lives. Can these two find a way to get their happy ending?

I loved these two together. While this is a standalone, this series will continue with other couples and I am hoping for more of these two because seriously... they were amazing. Derek will make you swoon and Melissa will have you rooting for her. Get ready for one he!! of a ride.

One to Protect ~ 5 Stars!

I loved One to Hold but I was so excited when I saw the author was writing a book 2 to complete Derek and Melissa's story, and boy she did not disappoint.

This book picks up with Melissa and Derek expecting a baby (SQUEE!) and on the road to their HEA, but of course they encounter some bumps in the road, mainly Sloan and his obsession with possessing Melissa. Sloan, Melissa's ex-husband was awaiting charges that he faced in book 1, but wouldn't you know the devil figures out a way to get out of them. This is not good for Melissa and Derek. Derek knows he is a threat to Melissa and will do nothing to get her where he wants her. Derek will do whatever he has to, to keep his love safe, even if it means going against the ways of the law to get "rid" of Sloan. And thus the pursuit is on... I sat on the edge of my seat at the end of the book waiting to see how everything would play out and was not disappointed.

My favorite scene was when Derek went to the doctor to find out the sex of the baby. I totally wish every man would be like him and be so invested. I loved their idea to reveal the sex to their friends and was so happy when it was revealed! <3

I loved Derek and fell even more in love with him in this book. He was sweet, caring, loving, attentive, protective, possessive, alpha, and stopped at nothing to make sure Melissa stayed safe. I also love Melissa. She was strong, sensitive, understanding, and could stand her own ground. These two really balance each other out and bring out the best in each other. Oh and the sex between these two... OFF THE CHARTS H-O-T!!

We also get a snippet from Patrick in this book so I fully expect a book 4 featuring this couple again or at least I am hoping for it... **fingers crossed**. I am also hoping that we hear more from Toni aka "Star" because I really liked her. Man she was strong and stood her own against the boys so it will take a strong man to reel her in.

Sexy. Edgy. Intense Thrilling. Suspenseful.

This book was crazy good.
Once I started it, I couldn't put it down until the end.
This book was a fast read full of angst and drama until the end.
Each book in this series is amazing.
They keep getting better and better with each book.

This is the continuation of Derek and Melissa's story.
Not every love story is easy.
Sometimes you have to work every day to make it work.
But the more time you put into it the better it is in the end.
Derek and Melissa's love will be put the test.
Danger is lurking... and it may be closer than you think.
Will Derek and Melissa be able to push through the obstacles?

I love Derek.... like super hard crush on him.
He is so strong, sweet, protective, and uber sexy.
I also admire Melissa and the strength she shows as this series progresses.
These two were hot as ever and still have tons of chemistry.

I recommend this book and series!

This is the first book in the One to Hold series and it is a great start!!
Melissa is a beautiful woman who has secrets and is running from something and someone. She has decided to try a getaway to forget her many problems. She plans a spa getaway with her best friend Elaine and as the saying goes get the hell out of Dodge!
We are now introduced to Derek. A handsome, sexy, mysterious business man who just happens to be lounging about at the spa bar.
When they two forces collide it can only be described as off the charts sexual chemistry and amazing energy!
They know that they only have a short time together but try to make the most out of it before they are both thrown back into the real world.
They both return home after their unforgettable weekend and do their best to return to their old lives. They both quickly learn that they need so much more out of life. You know the road will be difficult but you can't help rooting for them! You hope that happily ever after is possible but the obstacles in their way may be too much for them to handle! I can't wait for the next book in this series to see where Toa takes us on this journey!

loved the first two books in this series and was so looking forward to One to Protect! Tia you did not disappoint! Great story!

This book continues Derek and Melissa's story. Derek finally has everything he has ever wanted and more. He will not let anything stand in his way of protecting that which includes Sloan who has resurfaced.
Melissa's ex husband Sloan is back and wants her for his own and will do everything his power to destroy Derek and Melissa's new life together! He is a ruthless man whose hatred knows no boundaries! He begins to reek havoc on their lives. Patrick reenters and he and Derek take matters into their own hands. Derek will not sit back and let Sloan put an end to his happily ever after with Melissa.
A great story with crazy twists and turns and a wonderful supporting cast!!! So anxious for the next book in this series! Nicely Done Tia!!!!

I am applauding Tia as I Write this review, difficult as that may sound to do both of these tasks..LOL!
Tia takes us her loyal and swoon worthy reader down memory lane as to why we love and began reading this series.
Derek and Melissa are near and dear to my heart and they are where is all began. That being said let me get right to it.
I am reintroduced to my favorite characters in the midst of their lives. We are included in a journey they are embarking on that involves mystery, love, suspense, sexy characters and intrigue. We know that they are soul mates but the universe has other plans for them. Derek has gotten himself into quite a mess that has trickled over from the last adventure. He may have been leading with his heart and brawn to protect Melissa but is now has come back to haunt him. Melissa realizes that he is pulling away and hiding something and it begins to trouble her. They made an agreement early on in their relationship that honesty was the best policy. Derek rethinks that agreement and begins to do whatever is in his power to as he thinks he is protecting her. This may not end well for either of them. I loved revisiting with the wonderful cast of characters that I have grown to love.
What do I love about Tia's book......this may take a while. The characters are believable, sassy, sexy , smart and over all flawed with realism! I wanted to crawl in the book and be friends with them. I am not sure where Tia will take us next but I am so on board for the next journey with her!

This is Melissa and Derek’s story. Melissa and her best friend are away at a spa resort. While there she meets Derek in a bar and the chemistry is off the charts. They try to stay away from each other but the passion is so intense they can’t fight it. After leaving the spa and going home Melissa finds out exactly why Derek was at the spa and who sent him. Can they recover from the betrayal? Will all the secrets come out and if so will it even matter?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is more of Melissa and Derek’s story. Even after Melissa left him heartbroken he is still trying to take down her ex-husband. When one of Sloan’s call girls turns up dead he is willing to do anything to protect Melissa even if she no longer wants him. When Patrick helps him come up with a plan he is unsure if it will work or if he is willing to involve the person he does not trust. When things don’t go the right way will he be able to protect Melissa from the very real threat? Or will Sloan win out in the end?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

This is Melissa and Derek’s story. When the threats start coming and the secrets pile up all it will take is one lie to blow it all up. One photo that turns into one lie and everything you ever wanted is closed off from you. Can you solve the crime of the person who is trying to destroy you and also win back the family you love? What is the threat is closer than you think? Will you risk it all for love? Would you risk it even if it means your life? Melissa and Derek’s love will be tested. Will they come out in the end together or so far apart noting will help them in the end? Who will be left standing in the end?
I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
I recommend this book, the series, and can’t wait for the next story from this author.

Three books and a look into the relationship between Derek and Melissa. This is a collection that you will want to get your teeth into.
The first book is told almost entirely from Melissa’s perspective but Derek gets his say as the set continues and I have to say that I enjoyed it more when I got to really hear from them both in equal measure.
Book One- One to Hold, Melissa is taking a break, sometime out of life, to try and gather her thoughts and work out what and where she goes from here. She didn’t expect to meet Derek while she was at the resort but no matter how hard she tries she can’t get him out of her head. The connection was instant but that is not to say it was for the best, Derek could be a catalyst that she hadn’t accounted for in more way than one!
Derek is just the sort of guy that Melissa really should give a wide berth but after all they are both carrying enough baggage to sink them both but could they help each other in the long run?
The story was strong, it was engaging and the characters were ones that you could not take your eyes of for one second. But as much as they were strong, the events that surrounded them were not what they appeared and you will have bitten your fingernails to the quick by the time you flip over the last page.
Book Two- One to Protect, this was all Derek for me, he had some tough choices to make in order to keep those he cared for safe but he was resolute in his decisions. Melissa’s past refuses to just lay down and go away but the prospect of losing her really brings Derek’s fortitude to the fore, he has his own demons but can he face them?
This was a more intense read for me and took me on a ride that was impossible to get off. This author certainly knows how to put her characters through the mill!
Book Three – One to Save, Derek and Melissa’s relationship is hanging by a thread, due mainly to the events of the second book, the two of them seem to find it difficult to communicate and Derek has a desire to protect that is all encompassing, Melissa doesn’t want to be his problem, the one that he has to look after, she wants him to trust her enough treat her as his equal. After all his problems are hers too and vice versa.
When it comes to a conclusion, this is has it all and I have to say that I think that the author pitched it to absolute perfection
A super collection that is written beautifully, with a story that is engaging and characters that have a presence that needs to be experienced.

A break away from all her problems at a spa is giving Melissa chance to put her life and plans into perspective without outside interference. With her best friend Elaine at her side, she finds the calm she needs. Meeting Derek adds more confusion in her life as she feels drawn to him. This could add an extra complication to her life but it can also drive her forward with the decisions she has made.

This was full of intrigue, heat and emotion as Melissa battles to get her life back and trust in others again. Everything is not as it seems though so be ready to be taken on a ride that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

'One To Protect'
With Melissa's past not staying in the past, Derek must make some difficult decisions to protect his family. But will his conscience allow him to take that final step?

We see the vulnerability in Derek here as he faces the possibility of losing Melissa, which leads him to take drastic measures. With the focus on Derek here, we get to see more of his inner fears as he faces his own and Melissa's personal demons.

A definite edge of your seat, tense read that you won't want to put down until the very last word has been read. Quick paced with amazing characters; it is an intense read.

'One To Save'
The events of 'One To Protect' have the potential to bring explosive consequences and destroy Derek and Melissa's relationship. Derek's desire to protect Melissa at all costs could be the one thing that drives a wedge between them as Melissa wants to be treated as an equal partner and make decisions together.

This was again a gripping and intense conclusion to Derek and Melissa's story. You quickly realise that they are stronger together than working apart. It takes Derek longer to come to this conclusion and it could be too late for him by this time.

Great writing, great story and great characters. What more could you ask for?

I was intrigued by the synopsis of The One and you all know how much I love a good soul mate story ;)

Told in first person narrative with alternating perspectives between Derek and Melissa, although the first book is Melissa's point of view for the most part. The couple meet at an exclusive resort they are staying at for the duration of a week. Both have a lot of secrets and baggage they are getting away from. Sparks literally fly with their first glance and quickly escalate to require a fire extinguisher ;)

As their background stories are disclosed the tension ramps up in terms of suspense within the narrative. While the first book concentrates on the relationship aspects between Melissa and Derek and to a degree their best friends, the other two books take on more of a romantic suspense feel with thriller elements. There is a great deal of internal angst displayed by the characters, while it does give insight into their situations I did find it a little annoying at times. There were a few incidents especially in the third book that I didn't particularly like, those concerning Star to be more specific, just made me doubt the characters and their relationships :(

While I did enjoy The One as a whole it was the character driven side of the story I preferred as opposed to the suspense/plot-driven aspects.

Wow why did I wait to read these books???
Sooo good!
Melissa and Derek story is very emotional,so hot and very engaging.
Once I started I wasn’t able to stop..
I wanted more and more!!
Melissa has a difficult past and more than anything she wants to put it behind her and forget, start a new life by herself.
Derek is a hot ax marine with a past of his own.
When they cross path sparks are flying and the attraction soon becomes so intense neither can deny they want more.
What happens when they both go back to their lives? Is Melissa's past going to interfere?
What about Derek?
I am very happy that I got to read the three books together or I don’t know what I would have done lol. At times it was intense but I had to keep reading to see what was going yo happen.
Love all the characters too..Well except two.. creepers.
Can't wait to read the other books in the series!

I don’t really want to start summarizing the book too much for you, as due to it being a boxset I don’t want to give anything away. In this box set we follow the story of Melissa Jones and Derek Alexander. We see them repair each other after heartbreak and re-build their lives, with quite a lot of turmoil thrown in, you know for our entertainment. Through everything their relationship is put through, Tia Louise’ in-depth writing style invokes within you, the intense feelings Derek and Melissa hold for each other. There are a few ‘hide behind your hand’ moments that had my heart in my throat and filled me with hope that they would be able to pull through.
Being able to create such imagery in your mind that you feel along with the characters as the story goes along, through the whole three books, says to me that Tia Louise is an excellent author! It is true to life writing, with Melissa being hurt that Derek is holding back on telling her everything that is going on, and him doing so because he just wants to protect her and keep the burden of any worries to himself. Reading it from dual point of view helps understand the reasoning to both characters thought processes.
A story filled with alpha HOT men protecting their women. Intense love for each other. Plots. Ploys. Action. Heartache. Insanely erotic but also tender moments. This boxset has it all. I thoroughly enjoyed following the story of Derek and Melissa!!

One amazing boxed set!

Wow can I just say WOW?! I'm so glad I got this. What an amazing deal and the characters just came alive in the pages! It was emotional but so hot. This was my first time reading this author and I promise it won't be my last. If you're looking for something to get your juices flowing and your heart pumping well come on get this boxed set and kick back with a box of tissues, your favorite drink and snacks because once you get on the Melissa and Derek ride you won't want to get off! You are gonna love how you feel like a part of the story. The details are amazing the stories so real feeling that you will definitely go with every mood change and feel it deep. I devoured this boxed set I started last night and finished it today and I'm still beyond impressed and of course wanting to see what the rest of the crew getup to and what else may be in store for us! Seriously deserves way more stars!! Phenomenal reads!!

Oh my gosh

Where do I even start with this amazingly explosive sexy series do Derek and Melissa

Melissa to me is just so broken hearted after a terrible marriage and enters Derek and swoops in and saves her and bring the light back to her eyes

Derek is oh so sexy and alpha male and I just loved his character he falls so deeply for Melissa as she does him but they both have secrets and when secrets are told what will happen?

This is a must must MUST read series Derek and Melissa's book has EVERYTHING I love about a good amazing book

And in their books we meet others in the series and fall for them

Solid read

All three if these stories are solid reads. In the first, I think Melissa takes Derek back too quickly at the end. After all that he had done, I think she would have made him prove himself longer term before she took him back completely. In the last one, I didn't quite understand her obsession with him telling her every single detail, especially considering his line of work, yet I got that he should have been more honest about the parts that concerned her, especially because of her previous history.

Instead of grouping these books together by couple, I'd have preferred a grouping in chronological order, there are parts of the background that are missing when reading them this way.

This series started off really well for me and I really liked the H - Derek and the h - Melissa and the whole set up of the story. The first book was my favorite of the three. As the series moved along it got a bit repetitive and felt myself disconnecting a bit from the H&h. I really did not like the character of Star when she was introduced and then later on I really didn't like her. Some of the scenes with her and the H just bugged me a bit. Overall, if you like a good chick lit, angsty, romantic suspense style story then I would say to give this box set a try and see what you think.

Eh ok

Who doesn't want a Derek or Stuart to take home! That being said that was about the only part I enjoyed. This was supposed to be a stand alone series but they refer to stuff you have no idea what is going on. Patrick and Star. Patrick and Kenney. Just didn't care for these books all that much. Oh and my biggest pet peeve this ends about 85% the rest being adds for other books the author has.

I really liked this series.the first chapters in the first book was one of the best opening scenes that I've read! The series was really well paced and was really entertaining. Derek made those series worth reading and the secondary characters were so good that you just want to read their stories too. Can't wait!

Loved this series

Read this book in just under a weekend (no housework got done AT ALL). Loved the drama scenes in between the red hot action scenes. I have not read the other book series which clearly link into this one, but will be buying them soon. A well thought out book which will definitely be a regular re-read for me.

Good but not great holes in the story when adding new characters where you have to fill in obviously sets for each incoming couple but in doing so gets the story's a little muddled, it a good story with likeable characters

Loved these books. Derek & Melissa's love story is an emotional roller coaster. Keeps you on the edge of your seat wondering what's going to happen next!
