Have you ever loved a series, read all the books then be treated by the author to another book about characters from earlier installments...Now you sort of remember them, think they were cool but can't quite remember all of it...

Yup, that has happened to me and I know many others too, for time goes by and we read because we love to but it can sometimes cause a brain freeze of memories ...

Well, not to worry because Tia Louise is a genius. She has done the smartest thing ever. She has given us Taken(Dirty Cowboy): A One to Take Primer which has all the important bits and naughty hot bits, too ...of Stuart and Mariska.

Here you get the feel of these two and why they are so great together. Either you learn of them... or refresh your memory of their book, One to Leave

I appreciated these characters and with their new book, One to Take, coming out, this will do the trick if you need a remembrance of why you loved them in the first place.

Well, Since writing this review, Ms. Louise has kept me busy. Here is the entire series and it is so worth your time, enjoy!

I one clicked this freebie just the other day and since I was in need of an "in between" book I decided to give it a go.

This is only my second book by this author and I have come to the conclusion that her writing style isn't for me. I'm sure many of you really enjoy her books and that is great, but for me her stories just don't work. I found myself once again struggling to connect with the characters and the story line. And when that happens nothing good comes from it.

So I will leave it at that and not get into the story at all. If you are a fan of Tia then give this one a go!

Stuart and Mariska's first book was so good I luv Mariska's character her gypsy ways r so cool an the luv she as for Stuart is so cute they r hot for each other al the time but Stuart as been through a lot an didn't have plans to find a woman that he would want to stay with until Mariska but Mariska is the 1 that got him out of his depression an help him get back to normal there as been rocky patches between these but once Stuart got his head out of his ass things got better Stuart wants to give Mariska the best life but al she wants his him she is happy once she is with him an it doesn't matter where they r once there together but things r about to change an it could make things hard for the 2 of them



I m so excited for One To Take I luv this series so much an can't wait for more of these 2 characters an I hope we get more of the rest of the characters Stuart and Mariska r super hot so I know there next book will b the same I m dyin to know what in store for these to I want it now plz xxx

Here is a little glimpse of the love between Stuart Knight and then free spirited Mariska! Fans of the One to Hold series are familiar with the broody, sexy military cowboy and how a small open loving lady took him down with her pure love!

One to Take is coming soon but before diving into what lies ahead, Tia Louise gives her readers the most important moments from first glance to final chase as Stuart and Mariska fell in fast love.

Taken contains passionate scenes that are full of fire and emotion, binding these two together forever. It is hard to imagine what will lie ahead for them as it seems as if they are solid! These moments read solidified the love between Stuart and Mariska and had me desperately wanting more....yet anxiously waiting for what lies ahead!

After I read One to Leave, I was already in loved with this couple. They made hearts burst with the love that they had for each other. And so when I heard that Tia Louise was writing another book of Stuart and Mariska, I was over the moon happy. And how could I not be, this sexy cowboy ex-marine and sweet loving gypsy can easily steal the hearts of readers. And in Taken (Dirty Cowboy): A One to Take Primer , readers are reminded again of the spark and first meeting of Stuart and Mariska and are given a brief glimpse of vital scenes in their relationship. While this book, may have a few scenes from One to Leave, Taken was just a sample taste of what is yet to come with this couple. And I seriously can't wait for One To Take as my favorite sexy cowboy is back and ready to rope in the girl of his dreams and possible his new future.

I think the big thing people need t remember is this book is a primer. It's not the full story.
It is for people that have read the full story to refresh or for people (like me) who have not read the whole story to gain a little background on these two people and their history.

With that said this was a great little read but because it was a primer I find that I am missing a ton of information (which is normal since it's a primer). I am planning on reading the previous complete story but I needed some back ground before I started One To Take.

The writing style is great. The words flowed easily and I didn't find myself looking back to figure them out lol
The characters were good and I look forward to learning more about them in their full stories.
I was a little lost on the story line and the connection between them but I will figure that out when I read the full story.

If you are planning on reading One To Take and need a refresher or the bgd story then this is great.

I am relatively new to Tia Louise’s books having only read a few so this small taste of what is to come in One To Take with select scenes from Stuart and Mariska’s first book, One To Leave. Taken was not only enticing but has me desperate to go back and read through her entire catalogue. Filled with scenes from the new book coming Feb 2016, Taken introduces us to Stuart and Mariska and their undeniable chemistry.

I myself am a sucker for a HOT cowboy and a sassy heroine and if Taken is a Primer for One To Take than I myself will be devouring the book the moment it hits my kindle! Trust me and pick up this free read and be prepared to get excited!

This is the very first book I read by Tia Louise.
Sex cowboy ex marine the perfect combination I say.
Stuart Knight and free spirit Mariska. Do love at first sight exist? Hell what do I know BUT to Mariska it did she felt that instant pull to him and was willing to drop everything and everyone to get to him. This book contains passionate scenes that are full of emotions. The one thing I did not like was that it skipped made me feel like I missed out on most the story.

This was a wonderful collection of hot chapters!! Having not read their story yet I was intrigued and dying to know more. I cannot wait to read what else is in store for this couple. Stuart seems a tough man struggling with some bad things but with Mariska by his side becoming his “light”, we see a different side to him.

Having read One to Leave before reading this primer, I admit that I ended up skimming through the chapters that I was already familiar with and paid more attention to the new parts in Stuart and Mariska's story, which occurred after the end of One to Leave. It also gives you an idea as to one of the possible changes that Stuart and Mariska will have to face in One to Take. That being said, you have nothing to lose by downloading Taken and reading it even if you've already read One to Leave. It's a free primer and it does include new material, so my suggestion would be to go ahead and get it. It gets 3.5 stars, rounded off to four stars. ♥

Tia Louise is one of my favourite authors and I love this couple and I was so excited to read this primer before One to Take comes out in Feb. After all what's not to love about a sexy cowboy .....
Taken gives us the best from Stuart Knight and Mariska Heron a couple who are so different but as the saying goes opposites do attract, we have a injured marine turned cowboy who doesn't want a relationship and we have a free spirit who is taught from a young age to believe in her dreams and use her dreams to help others .......
This is a fun sexy quick read that gives you just enough to keep you wanting more from the One to Hold family.

This series is one of my favourites and I am always excited when Tia Louise announces another release.

I love Stuart Knight and Mariska Heron and was thrilled to hear that there was more to come in their story.

Stuart is an ex-Marine now, cowboy struggling to come to terms with his past and present. When he meets Mariska, a woman who could not be more differnet from what he thought he wanted, the sparks fly.

I cannot wait to read the continuation of their story in One To Take when it releases in February. I love this series

Taken is the Primer to One to Take, the 8th book in the One to Hold series. This primer is to give the reader a little reminder about what happened in One to Leave, how Stuart and Mariska met and how they became to be the couple that they are. With that being said, this is one HOT primer and a good way to get the idea of the relationship. If you haven't read One to Leave you are missing out but you can read this to get the general idea before diving into One to Take. Tia Louise, you never cease to amaze me with your talent and writing style. Even though this was a short reminder it made me fall deeply for Stuart again.

In Taken, we go back to when Derek and Stuart served together in the Marines to start the book off. We also get more detail about the time of Stuart's dinner at Nikki's house after he returns from Saudi. We are really seeing a compilation of scenes that we have read before regarding Melissa and Stuart, in preparation for One to Take. The snip-its that Tia Louise has chosen to take makes this a fun little read to help us get back into the mentality of where we should be for reading One to Take. If it has been a while since you read One to Leave, then this will help catch you up. If you just finished One to Leave, then you will quickly pick up on it.

Taken is a quick hitting get to know the story short. It fills you in on the previous timeline for the couple. Make no mistake you will be buying their full story. With just enough info for the characters to get in your heart, you will want to read their whole journey before starting their next chapter.
Only 4.5 stars because I feel the intensity without getting too much info but I didn't cry yet.
I received a copy of this "short" because I hadn't read the true story and the author wanted an honest opinion.

Taken is another steamy/sexy addition to one of my top favorite series! If you've read One To Leave, the story of Stuart and Mariska, then this is a great primer and memory booster before we get more of their story in One To Take (which I CAN NOT wait for) and if you haven't read the previous book then you will most definitely want to after reading Taken, because how could you not want more sexy/dirty cowboy! I loved revisiting these characters and will be counting down the days to the release of One To Take...I NEED more Dirty Cowboy Stuart!!!

A sexy cowboy who doesn't want anything or anyone...
Stuart has one mission and that does not include love or commitment
Mariska has one need- to find and heal the one who is in her dreams.

Taken is fun, sexy and tense.

Stuart may have more physical strength than Mariska- but Mariska has the strength to heal him.

I love all of Tia's books- I can not wait until One to Take..
